How to undo a reset

I changed my moms iPhone on iTunes and now it has the same settings as my iPod how do I change it back?

Well, what computer did you use originally to sync your mom's iPhone? An iPhone can only sync with one iTunes library at a time. So you need to connect the iPhone to the computer/user account with your mom's iTunes library + settings.

    Hi ali,
    These information need for you.
    Deleting or Resetting Check Information
Delete check information for payment run
If the print program crashes, the print management file will be incomplete in respect of the
following information: The information stored in the check information file up to the time of the
crash. The check forms generated by the print program. Since there is also no way of verifying
whether the data so far generated is consistent, you have no option but to delete the check
    information on the payment run.
To do this, choose Environment → Check information → Delete → For payment run. On the
next screen, enter the data for the payment run in question and choose EXECUTE.
In addition to this, you must also delete from the print management files the print jobs that were
generated. After this you can rerun the print program.
Deleting Information on Manually Created Checks
You can delete information about a manually created check in the following cases: If you
specified an incorrect check number when entering the check number. If a check payment was
    unexpectedly not made.
To do this, choose Environment → Check information → Delete → Manual checks.
Deleting Information on Unused Voided Checks
If an unused check was incorrectly voided, you must also delete the information stored for this
    check as follows:
Choose Environment → Check information → Delete → Voided checks. On the next screen,
enter the paying company code and the relevant check numbers.
    Resetting Void Check Data
If an issued check was mistakenly voided, you can reset the data (void reason code, user etc.)
contained in the check information so that the check is designated as a valid check again and
can be cashed by the recipient.
Choose Environment → Check information → Delete → Reset data
Resetting Data on Cashed Checks / Extracts
If the wrong checks were selected for manual cashing or if an update was carried out when
creating an extract, although the file should only be created for test purposes, the incorrect check
information can be corrected as follows:
Choose Environment → Check information → Delete → Reset data.

    G Rajendhar.

Hi guys, I have a big problem! My bookmark shortcut entry(command D) does not work anymore and do you know by any changes how to undo resetting of Safari? Thnx a million

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
    Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark.
If that didn't help, check Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari.
If Extensions aren't the issue, reset Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.

Someone else had replied with that same remedy and if that's all it takes, no worries. However, it is tellig me that after 10 unsuccessful tries it will reset my phone back to zero and I lose everything...pictures, emails, texts, etc. Is this true or not...do you know? Thanks.

  • LR 2 - how to undo changes after unselecting picture?

    Hi,
I do a bunch of edits on picture A.  Then, I go to picture B and do some edits.  Then, when I go back to Picture A and decide to change it, I don't see any option to undo those edits any more.  I thought it would be in the "History" section in the develop menu.  It shows every single thing that I did to the picture.  But, when I try to delete (by selecting it and hitting the delete key) any part of the history, nothing happens.  What am I doing wrong?  I've been having to reset the whole picture because I can't figure out how to undo any of the edits (and this is ONLY when I deselect off of the picture and come back to it later - I know about the undo option).  Thanks!

You can reset individual sliders back to their default by double clicking on the slider name (e.eg. Exposure, Brightness, Contrast, etc). Same applies in the other Develop module panels.

I found My iPhone contacts on my friends Iphone we both have 4s! But we use the same apple ID and ICloud ID! How can undo what happened? all my private stuff is now on his phone!!! help me plz!!?

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
    1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
    2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
    3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
    4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
    5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
    6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

  • HP "Support" does not know how to perform "regionalization reset", now what?

I buy a dual voltage OfficeJet 4620 in Germany in Ferbruary 2013.
NOWHERE in the product literature does it mention the ink cartridges are regionalized (defeats the purpose of even manufacturing a 110-220v device! But I digress).
I move to Florida in June and yesterday my black ink begins to run out.
The printer needs the "regionalization reset" which can only be performed by HP support, as stated by their own webpage:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02558798
    Another description of it here:
    http://www.fixya.com/support/t156381-change_region_code_ink_cartridges
I call HP support, and waste over an hour and a half with a girl in the Phillipines until she finally tells me that I need a complete set of USA ink cartridges in order to perfom the procedure (which appears to be not true, you do not need them to reset the printer, but rather it appears you need them simply if you wish to print anything after the reset was performed if for no other reason but to verify that the reset was successful). She claims HP support will call me this morning at 11AM EST. They did not call.
I call HP "Support" at 1130 EST and go through the wickets with them again. This time the girl does not know what to do and is clearly completely unknowledgeable about the product, mush less how to troubleshoot it, and instead she is simply following a script. Another hour wasted. After being put on hold for the 4th or 5th time for 15 minutes, I simply hang up. (Realizing later that this is an intentional strategy.)
I call again. Now I am speaking to some guy in India. He does not know what he is doing either and tries to guide me through the support menu on the printer itself, but his script does not match the menu options on the printer. Back to the 15 minute intervals of hold broken up by him saying "one minute please sir while I verify some information". Another hour wasted, until I finally begin to realize that none of these people know what to do.
Still I call back and get another guy who leads me into the Support menu (press the return button 4 times to access this menu) . The he has me go to the Reports Menu and select the "print mech button tap" option, which prints out a 2 page "Printer Hardware" printout. He asks me to "give him the numbers on the document, but the document has all sorts of numbers on it from serial numbers to product numbers to other numbers with labels that are simply abbreviations. I ask him which numbers he needs from the two pages full of numbers, and back on hold I go for 20 minutes. He comes back and says "the long number, there should be a long number". Well the longest number on the document is the Serial number which I have already given during the initial information polling he did and so I ask him if he needs it again. Back on hold i go for another 20 minutes. Now the 15-20 minute hold cycle resumes, with him "checking something" and he will "be right back". Eventually he simply clicks over to see if I am still on the line and immediately puts me back on hold without saying anything. I put my phone on speaker and I wait him out, having already wasted an entire morning and half my afternoon.
Now this was the best part....HE BEGINS TO PRETEND LIKE HE IS HAVING MICROPHONE PROBLEMS AND CANNOT HEAR ME (yes I know, what does his microphone have to do with hearing me, I had the same thought). It is obvious he has simply either taken his headset off his head or moved the mic far away from his mouth and is pretending he can't hear me and that he will call me back and asks for my number. I ask him how is he going to hear me tell him my number (which by the way he already took at the beginning of the conversation) and he continues his ruse. So I hang up. It is obvious he doesnt know what to do and no one else there is going to help me.
Now I call back tonight around 930PM EST, and I get the Phillipines again. I go trough the whole polling phase with the girl and explain to her that I need the regionalization reset performed, and that all I need is to know which numbers of my printer to give to HP Support so that they can give me the code I need to reset this device. I politely tell her that I understand if she does not know what to do or understand what the procedure is and that I will not be angry with her if she is simply honest and tells me so, but that I want her to tell me if there is anyone there where she works who will definitely know how to do the reset, a supervisor or actual technical advisor, anybody. She is friendly and honest and says this is the frst time she has heard of this and she will ask what to do. Back on hold for 5 or 10 minutes. She claims she is looking in her "resources" for the way to do this. Nothing. I ask her to please stop and get her supervisor, she claims she is checking with her supervisor and that they are "checking the resources" for the procedure to reset regionalization. I foolishly think we are making progress.
After 20 minutes of her constantly telling me she is checking her resources, even after I have told her what the procedure entails and that all she needs to do is find the procedure and tell me which numbers it requires from the device itself in order to provide the reset code, I tell her to stop what she is doing and put her supervisor on the phone. She stalls. She says she is sorry but they have never heard of this procedure before and that she will schedule me a call-back for tomorrow. YEAH RIGHT. I ask her WHO is going to call me tomorrow? She replies that it will be them and that they will have the answer. I tell her that I already heard that from them the night before and I dont have another day to be wasted. I tell her to put her supervisor on the phone and I want the name of whoever is in charge of her office. She tries to ignore me and continues to ask for my phone number (which she already has). I press her for the name of who is in charge and she finally claims "Peter" is the supervisor. I tell her to put "Peter" on the phone. 10 minutes of hold and later a guy picks up the line, claims he is "Peter" and asks how I am doing. I politely say I am well and I ask him for his last name. He asks why I need his last name. i repeat my question, "What is your last name Peter?"..........his reply? "hello, sir? I am having trouble hearing you, can you hear me?" He begins to play with the microphone and puts me on hold. Each time he picks up and asks if I am there I immediately ask him for his last name, to which he resumes the ruse that he cannot hear me. I stay on the line. At this point it appears that HP must have some sort of policy where their "Support" personnel are not allowed to hang up the phone first, perhaps it is even tracked as a half-assed internal method of "Quality Assurance", and these people know it and this is why they will leave you on hold for ever and wait until you hang up. So, I wait Peter out for about 10 minutes, I am not on hold because there is no music, the microphone is simply muted. I tell him i know he is there and can hear me, and that i know he cannot hang up first, and then he promptly hangs up.
    SO, my question....
    NOW WHAT?
How does anything get escalated at HP when their overseas "Support" doesn't know what to do?
I live in Miami and there is a corporate headquarters there for HP Latin America. I am thinking of walking right into the lobby and finding someone with authority, but in all honesty I just want the d*** printer region reset so I can use these ink cartridges I already bought and opened.
    Suggestions?

    Hi,http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03149924&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en#N89
First, I am sorry to see your experience, however be aware that this forum is a peer-to-peer community and not a direct contact with HP.
To clarify, the product specification do list the ink cartridges regionalization, the specifications itself reffer to HP Suresupply to locate the ink cartridges for your region, as well as the following document which clearly state that information:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03239171&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=uk&dlc=en...
Firs be sure to have the latest software installed prior contacting HP support, which should be listed as 28
You may find that information listed in the following document (Check the How can I tell which driver version I have? section), if you have any older version be sure to uninstall it and install the latest software, as listed within the same document:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03149924&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en#N89
If you need, the latest software can be found below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-108821-3&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en...
Next ensure you have any of the 564 ink cartridges, once the printer being reset it require all the 4 ink cartridges to work
Finally check the private messages I sent you prior contacting HP support , the envelope icon at the top-right part of that screen.
The ensure you use the correct contact details lease double chekc it below:

Solstice DiskSuite[TM] Software: How to Delete and Reset a Lost Root Password on a System With a Mirrored Root Disk [ID 1010755.1]
    Solution
    Steps to Follow
How to delete and reset a lost root password on a system with a mirrored root disk.
    1) Insert the Solaris[TM] Operating System CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
    2) Once the CD-ROM is in the drive, perform a stop-a. This brings the system down to the "ok" prompt.
    3) From the "ok" prompt, perform a single-user boot from the Solaris OS CD-ROM.
ok boot cdrom -s4) At the "#" prompt, determine which disk is the system's boot disk (containing the root file system). There are several Oracle architectures and various configurations of systems when it concerns a boot disk. As a general rule, most boot disks are attached to controller 0 (c0). Usually, their SCSI target is
either 3 (t3) or 0 (t0). However, Oracle machines are very flexible, and the boot disk could be at a different location. If you are not sure which disk is your boot disk, perform the following steps to determine the location of the boot device:
    a) # eeprom boot-device
The output might appear to be simple, such as "disk" or "disk1" or more complicated, such as a pathname "/iommu/sbus/espdma@4,8400000/...../sd@3,0:a".
    b) Make note of the boot-device. If the boot-device is a pathname, it is beyond the scope of this information to provide the location of the customized boot disk. However, for most configurations,
finding the customized boot disk is an easy task. The "Format" command shows all available disks:
    #format
    Searching for disks...done
    AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:
(enter its number): c) Enter d to exit format.
Now, you will have an idea what disks are on the system. Therefore, if the boot-device is "disk" and format shows "c0t0d0" (on some systems "c0t3d0") then that is the boot device. If boot-device
shows "disk1" and format shows "c0t1d0," then that is the boot device. If format shows multiple disks, then based on what the "eeprom boot-device" command shows, the system's boot disk would be:
    boot-device format
disk c0t0d0 or c0t3d0 (machine dependent)
    disk1 c1t0d0
    disk2 c0t2d0
    disk3 c0t3d0 or c0t0d0 (machine dependent)
    and so on ....
    5) Because the system was not brought down gracefully (no root password means having to use the Stop-a keystroke to "crash" the system), you need to run "fsck" to clean the root partition (slice). The fsckalso confirms that you selected the proper slice.
    # fsck /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0
where the X and Y are determined by the previous procedure. It is also possible to have a root partition which is not on slice 0 (s0), but, again, that is not a standard configuration.
The output of "fsck" looks like this:
    ** /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0
    ** last mounted on /
    ** Phase 1 .....
The second line in the output of "fsck" ("** Last mounted on /") confirms that this is the correct root filesystem partition. Answer "y" to any questions fsck asks. There shouldn't be too many items
needing repair. If there are, there is a possibility of a corrupted root filesystem. After fsck is finished, mount the root partition:
    # mount /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0 /a
Again, X and Y are the same as for the fsck command.
    For example:
    # mount /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0 /a
    6) From the root prompt, set the proper TERM type command (such as vt100, dtterm, sun, and so on)
    by entering this command:
    # TERM=sun; export TERM
    7) Use the VI text editor to edit the /etc/shadow file:
    # vi /a/etc/shadow
    8) The first line of the /etc/shadow file is the one you want to modify.
    It looks like this:
    root:c3.yAVmYodWsc:6445::::::
    9) Delete every character between the first and second colons in the first line of the file. When you finish deleting the characters, the line should look like this:
    root::6445::::::
    10) Press the Escape key, then enter the following to save the file and exit vi:
    :wq!
    11) Use the VI text editor to edit the /etc/system file andremove the "rootdev" line shown below:
    # vi /a/etc/system
    *rootdev:/pseudo/md@0:0,0,blk
Don't comment out the "rootdev" line. Actually remove it.
    12) In the /a/etc/vfstab file, replace the lines for the system filesystem meta-devices with their underlying partitions. For example, change lines from
    /dev/md/dsk/d0 /dev/md/rdsk/d0 / ufs 1 no -
    to
    /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0 /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0 / ufs 1 no -
ONLY change the lines for root (/) and the filesystems that were affected by the actions you took in step 1 of this procedure. All other metadevices may stay as is in this file.
    13) Unmount root, check the root filesystem, and then stop the system:
    # cd /
    # umount /a
    # fsck /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0
    # stop-a
    14) Boot to single-user mode:
ok boot -swTHIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT; YOU MUST BOOT TO SINGLE-USER MODE TO AVOID FILESYSTEM CORRUPTION.
If the system does not boot to single user mode, you might have made a mistake in the previous steps.
    15) Because the root password was cleared in an earlier step, press Return when prompted for the the root password. Once you are in single-user mode, you must clear the metamirrors and all the sub-mirrors for the root filesystem. For example, if root (/) is d0, run the following command:
    # metaclear -f -r d0
Running the metaclear command not only clears the metamirror but also clears the submirrors that are part of this mirror.
    16) When the metamirror is cleared, continue the boot up to multiuser mode by either pressing CTRL-D or by entering the following:
    # exit
Now everything should be as it was, except that the system partition is on the underlying partition and isn't mirrored. You will simply need to re-create the metadevices for the root mirror as you had originally.
    many thanks

    Hi,
    Halt your machine.
    Boot with fail-safe mode.
format and list out the disks. (You can get the root & mirror disk (c#t#d#) details from /etc/lvm/md.tab of your root or mirror disk. Earlier explorer output may help)
Mount the root disk and remove the password entry in /etc/shadow
    umount it.
Mount the mirror disk and remove the password entry in /etc/shadow
    umount it.
    reboot the server.
    Hope this helps!

You seem to have some misconceptions.
Is the array a control or an indicator or just some data held in a shift register or feedback node?
What you are probably looking for is an empty array. An empty array has a size of zero and has no elements (active or inactive). From your mentioning of "rows", you seem to have a 2D array.
The size of the array is independent of the visible size of the container.
Clearing an array means simply writing an empty array of the same datatype to it's terminal (or internal data structure). If the array is a control, you need to write to a local variable of it instead.
Can you show us some code so we can have a better understanding what exactly you mean by "array" in this context? Thanks!

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

  • I tried opening a pdf file and I set it to use always and firefox which did not work, I was wondering how to undo that and what I should use to open pdf files in the future?

I was attempting to open a document from a frequently used site, I had never been on, on my new mac however. I attempted to open the pdf file and was given the option of which program to use to open it, I mistakenly clicked use always and firefox as the program with which to open pdf files. I do not know how to undo this or what I should do in the future to access the pdf files.

    Hi Melfour-
Here is a Support article detailing how to work with your Firefox PDF preferences:

    Hope that helps.
