How to undo cropped and rotated RAW images in ACR

Can someone advise on returning to the original RAW image after the image has been edited in ACR.
"Reset Camera Raw Defaults" seems to do everything but undo crops and image rotation.
How do I undo these and/or return to the original unedited image?
Many thanks

Thanks but how exactly do I find the unedited CR2 within PSE/ACR?
Everytime I open the file in PSE or ACR the edited version comes up and the most original version I can return to is to reset the Defaults.  However, this does not reverse crops and rotations
I have noticed that the original CR2 file is viewable within MS Explorer but I'm reluctant to delete the .xmp as I don't want to loose keywords etc associated with the image.
Many thanks for any suggestions

Unable to rotate raw images in bridge, rotate buttons grayed out?
    Bridge 5.0.2.4.

There is an ignore EXIF setting Preferences. I can't remember if that is Bridge or Photoshop, but IIRC it is for DNG files.
Right.  Check Photosho > Preferences > File handling and make sure 'Ignore EXIF tag, is not checked.  I think that might do it, so long as it refers to sidecare files, because only RAW files would have one.

  • How do I copy and paste an image form the internet to Keynote. I have done this successfully in the past by selecting copy and then paste by using the right click function and now am unable to do so. I am thinking it is an outdate OS problem...not sure.

How do I copy and paste an image from the internet to Keynote. I have done so successfully in the paste by using the copy and paste right click functions but am unable to do so now. That was about a year ago that I attempted that I was able to do this. Thank you for your help.

    Some images are copy-protected.
If all else fails, you can make a screen shot of the image:
With the image visible in your browser, press CMD-Shift-4 and your cursor will change to crosshairs.
Position the cross hairs at one of the corners of what you want to copy and drag to the opposite corner, then release the mouse. An copy of the image will be saved to your desktop.
You can now edit and use this image.
    Be sure to respect copyrights.

    Hi,
You can try a package named: JTwain, which is available at http://asprise.com/product/jtwain.
JTwain supports all kinds of digital cameras and scanners. You can use Java to access, contorl digital cameras and scanners, and of course, to acquire images with flexible settings.
The developers' guide is available @ http://asprise.com/product/jtwain/devGuide.php
In the simplest case, one line of Java code can solve your problem.
    Good luck!

  • HT1296 How can I capture and save an image on my screen for later retrieval

How can I capture and save an image on my iPad screen for later retrieval, perhaps on my Laptop (Windows 7)?
Is there a way to copy the image to a storage device?
    Thanks, Don.

Its easy to take an iPad screenshot. Press & release the Home and the Power buttons quickly at the same time. I have trouble with that so I press & hold the Home button and then very quickly press and release the Power button. Your screenshot is stored in the Camera Roll of the Photos app. Probably the easiest way to get it to your PC is to be using iCloud, or email it to your PC. There are also some wireless sync apps in the iTunes app store that let you send photos from the iPad to a Mac or PC. I use PhotoSync.

  • Generating "raw" images in ACR?

I'm working with "raw" images using custom software, and I'd like to be able to pass images processed in ACR into my software.
I can currently pass dng images and proprietary raw images (such as direct from cameras) into my software. I want to process a raw (from camera, e.g. NEF) image in ACR and then save that processed image as dng, for passing into my software. However, when I examine the (processed) ACR-saved dng, I find that the raw pixel data in the dng is *not* modified. I suspect that the modifications made in ACR are stored in the metadata of the dng when it is saved in ACR, and are only 'applied' to the raw pixel values when interpreted by appropriate software. Is this correct? And if so, is there *any* way of producing an ACR processed dng file in which the raw pixel data *is* modified? i.e. so that the results of the processing can be seen when the dng is viewed in RawShooter for example? The processing I am doing in ACR is lens distortion correction.

    Yes.

Since the answer two the first question is Yes, that naturally implies a No for the second. You can save a demosaiced DNG, which is essentially a TIFF. That's what DxO used to do (and still does) when passing lens-corrected RAWs to other converters.

  • How to retrieve original RAW image after cropping and opening RAW file?

    Hi
I have a Canon EOS 350D camera and now have PSE 9.  I have taken some RAW images & imported them into PSE 9 OK.  I know the original RAW image is retained after editing.  However, after cropping a RAW image in the Editor and then "Opening" and "Saving as" a PSD or JPEG, I then close the image in Editor and the cropped image appears in the Organiser.  That is as it should be, I think.  If I then wish to start again from scratch on the original RAW image, it seems to me that I have to manually delete the edited version and the .xmp file in Windows Explorer, and then double click the original RAW file in Windows Explorer, which then opens correctly in PSE 9 Editor.  Can this be done from PSE 9?

When you open the original camera raw image, go to the flyout menu
and choose Camera Raw Defaults, that resets everything but the crop, straighten,
    and rotatate settings.
To get rid of the crop and/or straighten settings, click and hold on the crop tool and choose Clear Crop.
To reset the Image rotation settings, you have manually rotate back using the image rotate buttons.

  • I have a Canon EOS T2i Camera and I want to import the RAW images into Aperture.  How do I import them as RAW images instead of jpeg ?

How do I import RAW images from my Canon EOS T2i camera into Aperture and have them show up as RAW images and not jpeg images?

See the list of supported raw formats:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
The footnote ** for the cameras  EOS Rebel T2i EF-S / 550D / Kiss X4**  says, that the raw format is only supported with Aperture 3. So you will have to upgrade to Aperture 3, to be able to import the raw from from your camera.

  • HELP!!!!  How to crop and save an image

I recently started using iPhoto when I bought a digital camera. I have figured out pretty much how to use it but I would like to crop AND SAVE some of the pictures. I have gone so far as to crop an image and print it but the print comes out like the original shot. Also is there some way to convert these images into smaller file sizes and saving for uploading onto another website? Thanks in advance! .

    Hi imageconx1,
I think it will do you good to read the Help file for iPhoto. While iPhoto is open, hit the Help in the menubar.
You can also find the same info online on the iPhoto Support

  • How to view and edit raw images from Nikon d610?

Just bought a Nikon D610 and was surprised that the raw images are not supported by Aperture.  Thought they would be the same as the D600.  Any easy way to fix this?

Any easy way to fix this?
    Not really.
You might import raw+jpeg pairs, while you are waiting for the raw support, and set Aperture to use the jpeg as original file. That can be switched back later. Or import only the jpeg, but keep the raw on the card and add them later.
Another possibility - use te software that came with your camera to develope the raw and import tiffs to Aperture, or use Adobe's dng converter to convert the raw to dng and work with the dng files.

  • Script : Crops and name one image

    Hello there,
I'm completely new with scrip on photoshop.. I know there is a way to use one image for different crops and name them. There is no batch involve.
    Which means :
-Click on the script, a croping open, crop it, got a message saying if the crop is okay, click okay, then a box open, you can choose a name and save, then it follows by two others similar crops.
Sorry, not easy to explain. Is that a plug or a script? or both?
I basically end up using one image for 4 different crops and names, with a file saving like ??_xx_xx_xx_?? (?? : the name I selected, xx : the name of the image)
How to code this, is anyone knows?
    Thank you!

    No
While program knowledge would enable you to create a fully automated process you can do what you want to do with an action without any programming.  It can not be done without thinking and planing.  While recording an action is extremely easy to do. Crafting an action like you described takes some knowledge, planning, skill and practice.
Adobe forums like this one is a good place to acquire missing knowledge.  There are many here with a lot of knowledge that are willing to help other learn.
First the thread belongs in the Photoshop General Discussion forum this forum is for users interested in scripting. Scripting is use by a very small subset of Photoshop users with programming skills and is best outside the other main stream forum.
As I wrote I would have no problem crafting an action like you want.  However if I do you learn very little and I think perhaps I just been used.  If you have a problem recording the action you can ask how would some one do this or that.  Then perhaps many would respond with how they woul do something.  You and otheres  would see how other do something. Some of the ways may be better the others.  You can take your pick.  The important to to me is knowledge is being learned and spread.   Photoshop help and support is the pits one of the best Photoshop resources at you disposal are these Adobe forums.
Now I'm going to ask you a favor. Please start a new thread in the Photoshop General Discussion forum where you ask for help crafting the action  you want.  Start be describing the action you want in great detail. Also please read the text file in may crafting action package.  They are written for the advance action creator short perhaps and cryptic but they detail some of the capability of the Actions Palette, contains some good guide lines to follow. Address the issue of document size a problem area many have problem with, It also provide some script written to be used within Actions so the action creator can record better action with some logic in them without the need programming the script.

  • I need to select to import only low-res jpeg images from my Canon 5D Mk11 camera to an iPad 2 and not RAW images

I need to select somehow to import only jpeg images from my Canon 5D Mk11 camera to an iPad 2
I take photographs in both RAW (high quality up to 30Mb file size) and JPEG low quality for use on iPad and Internet. The Raw files I save to a 1Tb Multimedia Storage Viewer and later down load-them to my computer where I process them for high quality prints.
Using the Camera Kit I can’t find an option to only download jpeg images, and fill the iPad memory with unwanted RAW images. Can you please tell me how to get over this problem?

Have you checked your "Import" settings for "Raw&Jpeg" pairs in the "Import" panel?
You can set Aperture to import raw, jpeg, or raw&jpeg.
If you imported Raw&Jpeg, but have set Aperture to use the Jpeg as original, you will see the imported image as Jpeg image, not as a raw image, even if the raw has also been imported. You can switch between Raw and Jpeg originals for selected images from the Photos menu:
Photos > Use Raw as original.
