How to undo Firefox 5 in Win 7 and in XP? Generally, how to stop automatic Firefox updates?

Firefox 5 has reduced toolbar and other services on both of my 2 computers -- a Win 7 and an XP3. Would like to go back to version 4, stop automatic updates in Firefox.

FIrefox Browser problem- Suddenly now when I press the 9 number key (or 6) FIrefox zooms out and when I press a 0 number key Firefox zooms in. This just started happening 2 days ago. I am using a Mac and I have the latest Firefox . No updates of any kind have occurred in the past 4-5 days, so I must have inadvertedly activated this.
How can I deactivate this?
Note to Mozilla support: Please do not close this thread- I believe that it most specifically pinpoints the actual problem
that I am facing, so hopefully I can find others with a similar problem (& solution!)

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Turning off WiFi is not onerous. One swipe up to reveal Control Center, and one tap. Many people routinely turn off WiFi because they mistakenly think that it saves battery life.

How can i restore the ui and speed of 3.6 to the newer firefox

I have attempted to update firefox to newer versions when they come out however since the revamp on the UI all of the "Upgrades" have felt more like downgrades and i end up going back to 3.6. I guess my question is is it possible to add the newer web implementations (I.E. html5 support etc.) into te older package. i have seen the posts on makeing the new firefoxes look like the old one. they still dont look right. but even more inportantly they dont run right. the majority of my addons are not compatable and the "newer" browsers feel very slow in comparison
