How to undo software update in Nokia x6 and recove...
A friend had a software update done on my Nokia x6 - 8GBand now it is as good as new. All the data, files, photos and videos in it are gone. I had not backed them up as the software update wasn't intentional. It is really heartbreaking to lose all the precious data and files saved from all the past years. I tried all data recovery tools advertised on the internet but I could get nothing. Please please please someone tell me there is a way to get back my phone in its original state before the software update. Or atleast a way to recover the files. Any tech wizard who can help with solutions? please help. I'm really desperate at this point as is evident...
The update was done by a service centre where my friend had given my phone for a minor repair. When we asked them if it is possible to recover the lost data, they said it is impossible. Is it possible to recover the data if the update was done in nokia suite? If so where will the data be stored? I don't know how the service centre people updated the software. should I go ask them again?

I got a software update message this morning and clicked install and restart. Now my e-mail icon has disappeared from the dashboard. How do I get it back?
Don't recall the exact wording. But it is the same in appearance as others. Anyway, problem solved using RogerWilmut1 reply to someone else. I opened Applications and got the icon back. Thanks for responding.

How much data is being backed-up from each Mac? (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
Most likely, there just isn't room. Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't. Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

It is possible to RE-do one but not UN-do unless you consider both to be the same. But you can not downgrade to an earlier version.

Is there a software update for nokia 6275?? as it is not listed as compatable with the updater.. nokia care could not help as they were kind of lost.. just said the phone needed an update as it was shutting off on its own.. but couldnt provide the update as they said the phone could not connect to the comp.. which is wrong.. i just connected it to my comp.. any suggestions?? my phone is a CDMA nokia 6275

Go to Solution.Did they say what is wrong with it? If it is a software issue then they should be able to reinstall the software for you, even if you have to pay for it.
It would be different if it was a hardware issue which may cost more than the value of the phone to fix. -

I have just agreed to software updates on my imac and now can't open my mail. There is a message saying this version of mail isn't compatible with this latest software. I have located the updated mail in the applications folder but it won't open. I don't have the original operating software disk. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Your reply suggests that you have moved Mail to a different location, which (as I said) will prevent it from being properly updated. You cannot use Mail 4.5 with any recent version of Mac OS X. Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) included Mail 5 and Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) includes Mail 6. I'm assuming that you have either Lion or Mountain Lion, but if that is incorrect, you will need to provide that information.
At this point, you will need to reinstall your system. Hold down command-R at startup and reinstall the system right on top of the old one. This should not disturb any of your documents or applications, though you should have backups beforehand in case something goes wrong. And at this point, with your system in an uncertain state (I don't entirely know what you have done to it), something could go wrong.
You will also want to delete the old copy of Mail 4.5, wherever that is. You can't use it.
In the future, do not move any of the preinstalled applications. Leave them where they are. -

My 3rd Gen Ipod Touch was undergoing a software update when it stopped and itunes threw up a message saying "Update cannot be completed due to an unknown error". I disconnected and reconnected the ipod, and itunes suggested I restore the ipod. I started the restore and it froze midway and again said "Cannot be completed due to unknown error". The ipod is now frozen with the apple logo and an empty progress bar. It is not responding to anything. Windows is recognising it by opening Itunes but Itunes is not showing the divice in the pane. Something in your backup may be corrupt. Try wiping it and setting it up as a new device, then sync your apps, data and media back to it from iTunes. DO NOT resotre from your backup. If the problem is contained in the backup, it will bring it right back again if you restore.
