How to ungroup a set of pictures in playback on powershot sx60

I often hit the wrong button an a group of pictures I shot get into group set playback.  I cannot find in the manual how to ungroup these pictures - which then stops me from magnifying a image in playback to check it out.  Is there a way?

Hi ballina!
Thanks for the post.
Pressing the <UP> button will display [Display All Images], then pressing the <FUNC/SET> button will cancel group playback.

  • How can you disable "set desktop picture" from the finder contextual menu

I teach high school.  And MUST find a way to keep my students from changing their desktops.
First I basically got rid of Firefox when it had that feature in the Tiger days.
Then for Leopard I had to create dummy "locked" Safari Desktop Picture files for all my user accounts so the kids couldn't use Safari to set their desktop pictures.
NOW I discover (maybe this was here before) Snow Leopard lets you change the desktop right from the Finder itself!  Just right click on any image file and the contextual menu  will give them the option to "set desktop picture".
Come on Apple, every educator I know has complained about what a distraction and constant battle images are for students who use computers.  While not all students are inappropriate, quite a few are...meaning no one can be allowed the privilege.  Why is this such a huge battle to try and lock down?  Please allow Parental Controls or Server managed preferences to keep our students from being able to change their desktop pictures, ever, at all, from anywhere or any program.
Does anyone know if this is even possible?

The only way (I have found) to shut down using Safari's "Use Image as a Desktop Picture" feature is to create a bunch of blank documents that the users have no permission to change (i.e. set permission to only allow, say YOU to read it and no access to write to it for anyone)
Create a number of these blank documents and rename them
    Safari Desktop Picture.jpg
    Safari Desktop Picture.tiff
    Safari Desktop Picture.gif
    Safari Desktop Picture.jpeg
    Safari Desktop Picture.png
(you get the point....come up with as many .3 extensions of photo files that you can think of)
Put these locked and unchangeable files into the following directory of each of your student accounts
    Macintosh HD/Users/~User Name/Library/Safari/
What this does is create a bunch of dummy files that will "block" Safari (or the system or user) from trying to replace them.  Even though the right click comman will still be there, Safari will not be able to put the picture in the correct part of the system for it to be used as a Desktop Picture.

  • How do  I export a set of pictures from iPhoto to Photos

My MacBook Pro now has OS X 10.10.3 and the new Photos app.
I have over 30K pictures in the iPhoto app in this laptop, and I do not have the need to sync all of these pictures with all of my iOS devices; I won't be using iCloud.
I was not able to determine if Photos can import sets of pictures from iPhoto; I could have imported all of my pictures from the iPhoto library but did not find out if Photos does have the option to import sets as per user's needs; I saw Photos allow the user to select those he/she wants to import but I don't think I would like to select these one by one from 30K photos.
I will like to transfer sets of these pictures selected by date taken from iPhoto and export them to Photos library I created in an external volume. I need to free some space in my HD.
    Any suggestions?

There is no way to import from an iPhoto Library to a Photos one. You can migrate an entire Library at one time, that's all. Otherwise your choice is to export from iPhoto to the Finder, thereafter import to Photos.

  • How do I Sync a set of pictures from iphoto..?

I am new to Apple TV. Very nice divice and implementation.
But I do have a question. When I was trying to Sync pictures with iTunes. I get an option to sync Iphoto, but it idoes not let me select which set of pictures to sync. It would be nice to be able to select them by date or category wo whn I view them I do not have to oepn one folder and scroll until I find the picture I want. Is there a way I can syncronize pictures from Iphoto by cetegories, folders or date..?
Is there a folder where the iPhoto pictures are stored..?
    Thanks

You don't necessarily need to create albums, you could sync your events by choosing that option in the sync options in itunes. I however prefer albums because there are often photos in the events I don't necessarily wish to get rid of but don't want as part of a slideshow on my tv.
To create an album in iphoto, you can do one of two things: Create an empty album in the albums section on the LHS of the iphoto window by either using the '+' button in the bottom LH corner or from the file menu and then drag the photos of your choice to it. Or
Select all the photos you want in an album first and choose either the '+' or the file menu to create the album.
You can choose to sync these albums from the sync options under the photo tab in the sync options in itunes.

  • How can I delete a chosen picture in my address card

    Hi ALL,
As the title already says ... How can I delete a chosen picture in my address card.
Every Email I sent it shows a picture on the right upper corner.
I tried to delete it or chose "Non" but notting works ... how to do that.
    Thanks in advance ...
    Dimaxum

That picture does not show in actual emails - none of your recipients will see it. The picture is the one you chose when you set up your account; you can change it in System Preferences -> Accounts, but you can't delete it - each account will have a picture assigned to it.

  • Importing two sets of pictures into same collection

    Hi,
I have two sets of pictures on 2 different CF cards and would like to import them into the same collection because they belong together. I already imported one set of photos from one CF card into the appropriate collection name. Since there doesn't seem to be an ADD TO EXISTING COLLECTION option how does one add pictures from another folder to an existing collection? I know one can drag and drop them but I have over 100 additions.
    Don

    > I'm using LR 2. My folders are named Switzerland 1-6 for all my Swiss photos taken on 6 CF cards.
Are you splitting the shoot into 6 folders just because one CF card happened not to have enough room for all photos? Why not just put the into one folder?
    > I didn't see an ADD TO COLLECTION option so I just dragged and dropped this time, but it would be so much easier to ADD them.
Select photos in folder view, right-click the target collection and choose "Add Selected Photos to this Collection".
    > My collections are named according to the town or canton where the photos were taken.
If the collection are based on metadata, then smart collections indeed is the best way. Use the proper fields in the metadata panel to add towns and cantons, then define a Smart collection that says "City contains Zurich". And you're done. Automatically.

how do i re-set my screen password?

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if you forgot your passcode)
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to
             update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

Oracle 10g is obsolete.  Oracle 11g is already at terminal release.

Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career.  To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
    Go to  docs.oracle.com.
Locate the link for your Oracle product and version, and click on it.
You are now at the entire documentation set for your selected Oracle product and version.
    BOOKMARK THAT LOCATION
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab (for 10.x) or the "Master Book List" link (for 11.x) you will find the complete documentation library.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.
You don't have to read the above in depth.  They are reference manuals.  Just get familiar with what is there to be referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - *Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual*.
    - Take a look in your alert log.  One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them (listed in your alert log) in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - *When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again*.
