How to uninstall additional content?

My hard disk is getting rather full and I'd like to uninstall some giga of files I really don't need, i. e.
Logic Pro & Main Stage Additional Content
Garage Band Content
Garage Band Instruments
How do I proceed without compromising Logic Pro and/or Garageband?

Hey everyone,
I have just purchased Logic Pro 9 and I was downloading all of the Jam Packs available. However, I downloaded most of the Jam Packs until I was forced to restart my computer. Now, I have three Jam Packs left that have not downloaded and I was wondering how do I get back to the screen that tells me which ones I have yet to download? I have searched through the application and have yet to find it. Can someone please help me out?

How to relocate additional content files?

Hello.
I have a MacBook Pro 15" late 2011. Mac OS 10.8.2 is installed on the 128 Gb SSD drive, and my "Home" directory and all files needed for my work, I placed on 1TB HDD in OptiBay.
I have a problem with Logic Pro 9.1.8 Installation process.
Can I install additional content from Logic Pro to HDD or relocate content files after installation? I'm using many "heavy" software and plug-ins in my work, and very important to me how much free space is left on the system drive.

When you move them, you will need to re-index the Loop Browser: simply drag the new (moved) folders in the Finder on top of the Loop Browser in Logic.
It might be best to leave the 'basic' Garageband loops where they are.
If you need to make even more room on your boot drive, you could think about moving the JamPack sampler instruments (around 14G), but this could cause some issues with the EXS not finding the samples in their new location. Similarly, you could move the Factory EXS samples (4G), with the same caveat.

How to install additional content from Download

I purchased the Master Collection CS4 and downloaded the files. It had one main Master Collection install (.dmg) and several additional content downloads for various programs. The main instal worked great. But I can't figure out how I'm supposed to install the additional content. After opening the .dmg files there are no "setup" files within them. They just have fonts and graphics and things like that. I noticed on the fonts it has a option to install one-by-one, but that would take forever. Am I supposed to drag and drop these files into their program's application folder on my computer? I read everything (I think) and it doesn't say. Can somebody help? Thank you.

In other on-line downloads, where one had more than one file for the installation, i.e. Functional Content, the files were ZIP'ed and had to be un-Zip'ed with the "folder structure" checked. This would then Extract all files in their proper folders. It was within these folders that the installer files could be found. I'm not sure how this might have changed with CS4 though.

Can you uninstall additional contents in Logic Pro X?

I have just purchased Logic Pro X and after the installation, it asked me if I want to download any additional contents which total is close to 40GB.
I was wondering since that's a lot of space, would I be able to uninstall the sounds later if I don't like them?

The largest folders of files are in Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Logic

How to Delete Logic Pro X Additional Content

Is there Anyone out there who knows how to delete the additional content on Logic pro X once it has been installed.
These are the following things I have tried:
I have tried uninstalling Logic pro X - No result - The space the additional content took up is still taken up. (by what I don't know)
I have read every possible article on the matter - Still No Result -
I have tried using AppCleaner to delete Logic Pro X - No Result - Logic pro X is deleted but the additional content still remains.
I even went as far as using my time machine to back up the information on my laptop - to see if it would back up the 50GB worth of date - Guess what - It did back it up. but its no where to be found on my HD.
The additional content takes up 50GB+ worth of space and for some reason won't GO AWAY!!!
SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!

ID CS5: How to include additional text into a table of contents and how to hide text from it?

I have the following problem:
1. I'd like to include additional Information in my table of contents which I don't want to appear in the text I refer to.
Example: I do have a picture with a caption saying:
picture 1: Blablabla.
And I want to have the source of the picture as additional information in the table of contents:
picture 1........Blablabla (source: thisandthat)........23
Still I don't want this additional content to disappear, as soon as I update the table of contents!
How can I achieve that?
2. And how can I have this the other way round?
Let's say I want the source in the caption, but not in the table of contents.
So the caption says:
picture1: Blablabla (source: thisandthat)
but the table of content says:
picture 1........Blablabla.....................23
I was trying to achieve this by two different praograph styles in the caption. One which would be listed, and one which wouldn't be listed, but this of course resulted in always having two paragraphs in the caption, which I'd like to avoid:
picture1: Blablabla
(source: thisandthat)
Any solution to this?

Sorry, missed the second part of the question. I think the only way to do that is to use invisible "dummy" text of some sort, and if you're going to do it for some entries, you might as will do it for all.
One of the easiest ways is to put the text you want inthe TOC into an anchored frame attached to the actual heading in the text (so it moves along with it). Use a unique paragraph style for this text, and include this style, not the one applied to the headings inthe text, to make the TOC. I usually use a character color of red to make it satnd oout so I don't forget it's there, and the position on the page isn't really critical. Select the anchored frame, open the Attributes panel and make it non-printing. You'll see it in editing mode, the TOC will pick it up (as will variables, if required) but it will disappear on output.

How do I download additional content (loops)?

Many of the loops in my GarageBand library are not downloaded. I click on them and choose "download now", and nothing happens. If I click on them again, it says they are being downloaded and to check the software update app. I check that, and it says "no new updates". So how to I get all of the loops?

I would recomend removing (Deleting) Mainstage and re-install from the App store, keep in mind the initial install is about 2-3 GB download, and then the additional content is about 30 GB.
To remove a Mac App Store app that appears in Launchpad
Follow these steps while you are logged in with an administrator account:
Enter Launchpad.
Click and hold on an icon until you see all icons jiggle.
Click the "x" button in the upper-left of the Mac App Store app icon you want to delete.
Note: If you do not see an "x" button, either the app is not from the Mac App Store or you are logged in as a standard user.
Click "Delete" in the confirmation dialog to delete the app.
Tip: If you want to reinstall a deleted app, open Mac App Store, click the Purchases icon, then click on the "Install" button for the app.

How do I install additional content for Illustrator

I'm having a similar issue. I successfully installed the CS 6 Suite from the .exe and .7z file pair, but there are two additional files, Illustrator_16_Content_LS16.exe and InDesignFamily_8_Content_ALL.exe, that were part of the download package from adobe.com. Aftre the CS6 install, I moved on to these two files. They extracted their contents to the Deskop into Illustrator and InDesign folders, respectively, and then nothing further happened. There is no Setup.exe in either folder, so I'm wondering if I'm supposed to move the contents of each to the appropriate program folder in Program Files. Any ideas on I should proceed? Were the 2 .exe files silently picked up by the CS 6 Suite install and the extracted folder contents are already installed appropriately?

That's a good suggestion, and it's something that we're already planning on addressing in the next release, probably via a service that you can use to view information about patches and notifications -- not only the ones that were known at the time that you installed, but also ones that might have come into existence since then.

Additional content for Premiere Elements 7 can be found by following the link in the article linked to at the end of this FAQ.
You'll need to log in to your Adobe account, and then you'll see the link to the download on the same page as the Free Trial download.

When trying to install/open the contents file (PRE7_Cont_WWEFGJ) you get this message - The setup has detected that premiere elements is currently in use. Please close Premiere Elements, then launch setup again despite the fact that Premiere Elements is not in use.
To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:
1. Right-click the Microsoft® Windows XP® taskbar and select Task
Manager.
2. Under the Applications tab of the Task Manager, please ensure Adobe
Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements is not running in the background.

Give Adobe Support a call or contact the TCS team at [email protected] - something in your environment is causing the installer to fail (I'd guess).

How do I Download Additional Content

Hi...I've got a MacBook Pro running OS X Mountain Lion fully patched and updated. I'm not usually a Mac user but I'm fairly comfortable with it when I do...I know enough to be a Power User. I purchased/downloaded Mainstage 3 today. It prompted me after the install to Download Additional Content but I had to restart due to some other updates I was running so I just figured I'd be able to do it when I was finished with the restart.
Now, when Mainstage is open, I go to the MainStage 3 menu and the option for Download Additional Content is grayed out. Why is that. What am I missing. I figure I'm just missing something easy. I've perused the various support forums and manuals and haven't figured out why. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Im a Logic Pro X new user and Im having trouble once I download the additional content. I dont know how to use it. Is used as a plug in or what? Anyone who can help me I will be very greatful

Although I can download the additional content im not able to use it as i dont know if this should appear as a new plug in or an audio unit.

The additional content relates to the stuff that is already included with Logic. So, for example, when you download extra kits for Drummer, they go into the folder that has the So-Cal kit and the other kit that downloads when you do the intial install of Logic.
Same with Bass instruments, Guitar instruments, Orchestral stuff. If you had a look at what came with Logic in the initial install, and then looked in those same places afterwards, there's a whole bunch more stuff in there.

similar problem that I'm hoping revives this thread. Took over 24hrs to dload additional content (after another full day for the actual problem) due to a bad dload rate. so quitted, and relocated closer to my wifi router. Restart, open logic x, Menu bar: Logic Pro/ Download Additional content ...Tells me i have no internet connection.... Ahh... I do, I'm using it right now! Tried restarting and relaunching. same thing every time.
Any clues?

Downloading additional content on OS X 10.10

Hi,
I'm experiencing a strange situation with Logic Pro X 10.0.7 on OS X 10.10 regarding additional content.
I'm quite sure that I have selected everything in the "Download addition content" when I started my download and I think this screenshot confirm my theory:
As you can see if I presse "Select All Uninstalled" button nothing is selected, so it seems that everything is already downloaded and installed, but as I click on one of this content the button "Install" turn enabled and if I click it would start downloading it!
Moreover if I open some song I get a warning that there are contents that are missing and have to be downloaded. For example "Standby House Beat" loop and "Euro Basic Beat" loop are missing (I know since I got in one of my songs).
Are you experiencing the same problem?

I've tried to reindexing the loops as you suggest, but I still missing some loops! So for example when I open my song the loop "Euro Basic Beat 4" is missing while "Euro Basic Beat 2" is available.
I don't how to solve and I would like to avoid downloading everything again!!!
