How to uninstall an application?

I downloaded some applications that I dont need anymore.
How can I uninstall them?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
What are these apps? Some programs can be uninstalled just dragging them to Trash, and others have an uninstaller

  • How to uninstall downloaded application on N97

can anyone tell me how to uninstall downloaded applications on N97. Its a new mobile i have bought and new to his world of smart phones. thanks.

GPS on the N97 seems problematic for many. It can be very slow and not very accurate.
I have been working with an app developer to try and track down a bug I reported with their program regarding GPS which we found and they have now corrected. However, in the process, they discovered a bug in Nokia's GPS system itself and reported it. I know Maps 3.1 have just been re-released so maybe they have fixed it.
I have a permanent data connection active so don't get asked about the connection when I load Maps. My partner uses a 5800 and don't go online with it using the mobile network and the mapping doesn't work properly. If they connect to a network, all seems fine.
Sorry to be a bit vague but I don't use GPS much.

  • How to uninstall mackeeper application

Need help on 'how to' uninstall mackeeper application.
It was accidently downloaded and is not in the 'applications' folder, but in the 'administrator' folder.
Please walk me through this process step by step, please.
    Thank you!

    Please carefully read:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3021
Also please do not treat your iMac as a Windows machine. What i mean is OS X does not rely on 3rd party apps to run well. OS X wll run best and be the most secure if you simply keep it up-to-date which you can do using Software Update.

  • How to uninstall Apple Application Support v. 1.2.1 on a PC or force a new installation of QuickTime

After running Apple QuickTime for three or more years on my PC running Windows XP, apparently some part of its code became corrupted.  Trying to install an updated version of QuickTime, all went well until the new installation was not able uninstall the old version of Apple Application Support, v. 1.2.1.
How can I uninstall the old version of Apple Application Support v. 1.2.1, or, how can I force a new installation of QuickTime without first uninstalling Apple Application Support?
    Thanks for your help.
    Jim

Jim, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\Installer Cache is where Apple Application Support is located should you want to delete it, the version you mention is old.
You may be able to first force a new update by going to. C:\ Program Files\Apple Software Update and double clicking on SoftwareUpdate exe
If that doesn't work for you than you would have to remove the old QuickTime msi file. Which is a microsoft installer file. Located in C:\WINDOWS\Installer
If you have any difficulty locating and removing the msi file this link to Windows Installer CleanUp Utillty should help. If not post back.

  • How to uninstall downloaded applications

How to uninstall a downloaded application

Press and hold any of the apps on your homescreen and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. Music/iPod, App Store, Game Centre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

  • How to uninstall evernote application in os x?

I tried to uninstall evernote, I removed contents folder to trash but when i tried to move application to trash I got a message 'The item “Evernote” can’t be moved to the Trash because it’s open'.
How do I close it and remove it completely?

How did you install it?  From Evernote's site or via the Mac App Store?
If the latter, you just go to LaunchPad and click and hold on it for a bit, and then click the "X" in the upper left corner and it's gone.

  • How to uninstall some applications.

I'm a newbi of Mac. Say if I want to uninstall some software, what shall I do? Just throw the files in trash?? Is there a Windows comparative "Uninstall" procedure to follow?
Especially, I installed a software, and it only has a ``fast key'' in the "Services" tab of every application. How can I remove it from the services??
    Thanks,
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

As a general rule, if the Application has its own uninstaller, run that. Most apps don't have an uninstaller, as they are not really necessary.
If there's no uninstaller, just drag the application to the trash.
If you want to be extra thorough, you could do a spotlight search for the .plist files or any other small traces of the application. Typically these take up a very negligable amount of space and it's OK to leave them orphaned.

  • How to uninstall system applications? I want to uninstall pinterest.

I love minimalist systems (like archlinux). This is why I buy a firefox os phone, who gives me more control over to wich applications may I have or not.
I believe pinterest is not a essential system application (as some others), so I want to uninstall it. Is it possible?
    Thanks!

    Hi lecarrera,
Are you still experiencing this issue?
I believe what you are referring to are the '''Everything.me''' applications. They are not installed in your device, they are simply links to web-applications. These applications do not take up space and memory from your Firefox OS, so you do not have to worry about that. =)
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns about your Firefox OS device.
    Thanks,
    - Ralph

  • How do i uninstall an application in my macbook pro

hello community...how is all of you doing..... hope everything is going on well in each of your lives..... please i am new using a mac and i have found myself wanting to know how to do one of the easiest things i do in my windows pc....... i want to know how to uninstall an application on a mac... i am currently using the LION os ...... there is an application i want to uninstall.... please i will really appreciate it if you all can help me.... thanks in advance ...

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Uninstalling a application

I have download an application (Youtube Downloader) from the internet and now I want to uninstall from my Mac Pro. Which comes on top of every video      i watch. How do I do uninstall that?

If it came with an uninstaller use it.
Drag the application to the trash.
    Use a 3rd party "deleter."
None of the above work, contact the manufacturer or do a Google & Bing search on how to uninstall the application.

  • How to uninstall applications in SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
We have installed following applications using "Applications" mode of SCCM 2012 R2.
    XML Notepad
    Notepad++
    Adobe Reader XI
How do we uninstall these applications from clients using SCCM 2012 R2? Do we create deployment type for each and uninstall?

You can configure an install and uninstall command line for each deployment type. Then there are 'install' and 'uninstall' deployments. Uninstall deployments can be used to uninstall software. Keep in mind that an install deployments wins over an uninstall
deployment if both are deployed to the same machine.
