How to uninstall CS2?

Is there an uninstall application for CS2 like CS3 or is it a manual uninstall.
I just can't find anything about CS2 on Adobe.

Just put it in the trash. then empty.
be sure there is nothing you need in in the creative suite that you may need like imageReady or Indesign for conversions. If you delete CS2 then need it later you must uninstall CS3 to reinstall CS2.
I find it is much easier to leave CS2 alone than delete it to save space.

  • I installed CS4 Web Premium, do I need to uninstall CS2? (I don't have CS3) If so, how?

I thought the installer would just upgrade my existing CS2 apps but after I installed CS4, I saw that all the CS2 apps were still there! Do I need to uninstall them manually? If so, how? Is there any danger in doing that? Or should I uninstall CS4 then uninstall CS2, then reinstall CS4???? Thanks much for any advice/help!

    Karen,
No. This is a full-version upgrade, meaning that it is a complete installation, independent of any past versions installed. Both versions can coexist and can be used.
But if you double-click on a file to launch the application, the most recent version prevails. If you prefer to have the older version default (for the current work session), launch it first, then double-click on the files to work on them.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Creative Suite 2

    Hello,
One of our computer broke at the office.
My collegua tried to install Adobe Creative Suite 2 on the new computer in June.
    It didn't work.
Today I contacted the online assistance to install the program. The assistance explained me how to downloaded the 3 discs.
I did it but when I tried to open them when downloaded it asked me if I wanted to install/uninstall/delete it and then ask me to put the disc1 and didn't recognise the disc.
I understood that the last version downloaded on your website doesn't require any CD.
I tried to uninstall the old version but it didn't work.
Can you explain how to uninstall the old version to be able to open the new one?
    Thank you in advance.

do you an old version installed now?
if yes, what os?  if windows, use start>control panel>uninstall programs>uninstall the one of the cs2 programs and select all.

  • Uninstall CS2 after upgrade to CS4 - is there a new walktrough

Just upgraded from CS2 Premium to CS4 Premium on Mac 0SX 10.5.6, but left CS2 on there as I wanted to copy over a few preset files etc from CS2 to CS4.
Now I want to remove CS2. I've got an old document link for removing CS2 but it mentions removing directories that I know CS4 has installed or shares (e.g. Adobe Utilities and Adobe Updater)
Is there a new walkthrough or utility to remove CS2 once you have upgraded to CS4?

    Buko
That's a bit too succinct and general....
In your apps folder will be a folder call 'Adobe Creative Suite 2'. Within this is an' uninstallers' folder which contains the file 'How to uninstall.pdf'. This file is reproduced (as far as I can tell) at http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=331301
This talks you through the various folders/files to remove.
BUT BEWARE - this was written before CS3/4 existed and as my post (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b82bde) points out, there will be some folders it suggests you remove, but that CS4 actually need (e.g. Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities folder).
I'm seeking a new 'How to Remove CS2 after installing CS4' document myself.
Have spoken to Adobe Tech support today and their suggestion was to "not remove any files/folders you think CS4 may need'.
How flaky is that for Technical Support - some people like to keep their hard drives lean.

  • How to deinstall CS2 under Vista

I want to deinstall CS2 (installed under Vista), but can't find the Software in system control (listing of installed programs). How is this possible, and can somebody give me a hint how to remove cs2?
    Regards

Bob, the installation cd does not help. It tells me to uninstall first, otherwise the installation is canceled. The Adobe deinstallation advise in the program files also says to deinstall through system control.

  • I have Photoshop 6, upgrade CS2, upgrade CS5, can I uninstall CS2?

I originally bought Photoshop 6, upgraded to CS2, and upgraded that to CS5. I don't ever use CS2 and I don't see any reason to keep it. My question is, will uninstalling CS2 adversely affect Photoshop 6 or CS5 in any way? I am wondering if CS2 has to be there for CS5 to run, or if uninstalling CS2 will change or uninstall any Photoshop 6 or CS5 settings.

On Windows, at least, uninstalling one version of Photoshop has been said to goof up file association settings (I can't say because I still have all the versions installed, myself).
If that happens to you, check back here; I'm pretty sure there are posts that can be turned up with a search that will describe how to straighten that out.

  • Uninstalling CS2

With the purchase of CS3, I have no use for the CS2 I already have on the system. How do I uninstall CS2 and change all the file associations from the CS2 programs to the equivalent CS3 programs?

Thank you for the quick reply.
Do you collaborate with others who may only have CS2? No
Do you ever use ImageReady? No
All the CS3 programs appear to work. just fine.
quote --- installing CS3 defaults all documents to open in the new software. --- /quote
Evidently, that is not completely true. When sorting through files on my computer, it shows them to be associated with GoLive. if I remove GoLive, that is going to mess things up.
So back to the question. How do I uninstall CS2 (or individual programs in CS2 and re-associate files to the CS3 equivalent.

First, welcome to the Apple boards.
Backup what you have because it probably contains things from the original update you want to keep - network settings, passwords, etc. A bootable clone is your best bet - and test it out.
Then you need to format your HD (full, not quick) with the Leopard DVD and then reboot with the Tiger CD and install it. I am not sure how much you can migrate "downwards" from the Leopard backup, but some things will probably come along OK. Not sure about mail since it was converted by Leopard - will it unconvert? Don't know.
I have read of some who tried to simply install Tiger over Leopard but the results were less than great. You can try it once you have that clone backup, because you won't be losing anything.
I would suggest unplugging the clone during the erase and install process until you get to the migration point.

I have a brand new Leopard based MacBook Pro that I need to revert to its previous cat form of Tiger. Would you mind walking me through it? I have Tiger disks that came with another MacBook Pro so those should have all of the machine specific items I will need. As I understand this, I start the computer from the included Leopard disk and do a full format. (I noticed that there is a new partition style named GUID Partition, is this Leopard only?) Next, I load in my Tiger disks and install from those? I do not need to do any system backups as I have no information on this computer as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Brian

I have installed mountain lion on my macbook pro ,but it made my mac very slow. Would someone please tell me how  to uninstall this one and reinstall snow leopard? I tried to do it by my original CDs but macbook  pro didn't let me to do it.

It would be easier to just fix whatever is making your machine slow.
I wrote a little diagnostic program to help show what might be causing these problems. Download EtreCheck from http://www.etresoft.com/download/EtreCheck.zip, run it, and paste the results here.
