How to uninstall cxz engines

how to uninstall cxz engines?

Go to ~/Library/Application Support and delete the WineEngines folder.
If not there, you have to go to the main Library on your hard drive (not your home folder one) and look under wine engines.

  • How to uninstall Inquisitor and use the updated AcidSearch (in Leopard)

Title says it all I think - I loved AcidSearch - enough that I didn't use Safari 3 (beta) in Tiger because it killed AcidSearch and when I migrated to Leopard I missed it dearly and have been getting by unhappily with Inquisitor. Now there's a new AcidSearch and it's installed but my search tab is still controlled by Inquisitor - which I can't remove.
The two ways to remove it that I've found while googling are running the install app again and clicking 'uninstall' - however that isn't an option - it just installs over the top over and over - or by removing it from the Input Managers folder in Library - but that's seemingly a Tiger-only folder now and there's nothing Inquisitor-related in it...
I guess the other question I have is actually which is better - I only just now realized I can add search engines to Inquisitor - so that might make it very functionally similar to AcidSearch. I don't have very fast broadband, so I feel the predictive element of Inquisitor is useless.
Any thoughts on which is better and/or how to uninstall Inquisitor (so I can choose!) would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Alex,
I just installed it to see where it places files, and the only place the latest version seems to install anything is in Hard drive -> Library -> Input Managers.
It also (annoyingly) renamed my users Input Managers folder to what you have, i.e. Input Managers-Tiger (I have Cocoa Gestures in there, which was working just fine Mr InquisitorX developer...)
After deleting the Inquisitor bundle from the top level Input Managers folder and restarting Safari it appears to have gone.
What version were you using before? Have you tried downloading the same version from versiontracker.com and seeing if the uninstall in that version works?

  • Can't uninstall runtime engine 6.0.1

I'm trying to update a computer from a labview runtime engine 6.0.1 to runtime engine 6.0.2. I am able to install and uninstall runtime engine 6.0.2 but I can't uninstall runtime engine 6.0.1. In the control panel on "add/remove programs", I can't remove "NI Labview runtime engine 6.0.1". In fact when trying to remove it, I get a dialog box that displays the message "This action is valid for products that are currently installed". Any suggestions on how to remove 6.0.1 runtime engine before or after installing runtime engine 6.0.2?

    Jeff,
When you install the run-time engine 6.0.2, do you still see the run-time engine 6.0.1 in the add/remove programs? If so, then go and delete the run-time engine 6.0.1 folder from the installation (Shared) directory.
If you installed the run-time engine 6.0.1 with LabVIEW 6.0.1 update, try running the LabVIEW uninstaller, and select to uninstall just the run-time engine.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to uninstall files on Mac OS X?

I have downloaded some files and search engines which are not good enough for me. I want to uninstall these softwares and I am bit confused how to get on with it.
Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.

Rule of Thumb: Never install software unless you know how to uninstall it.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner 2.1.0
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash 1.8.2
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller 1.15.1
      10. Spring Cleaning 11.0.1

  • How to reorder search engine add ons in Firefox Mobile for Android?

I've installed a few search engines as add ons in Firefox Mobile, and want to change the order they are listed in.
I'd expect this to be a simple drag and drop (I believe Opera Mobile allows search engines to be reorded by drag and drop), but that doesn't work.
How to I change the order in which search engines appear?

The only method right now is to disable or uninstall search engines. Doing a better job of being able to adjust this would be good.

My safari browser seems to have been taken over by a malicious program called only-search.  Does any one know how to uninstall this program from safari?  I am running osX 10.10.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • How to Uninstall Leopard Upgrade and go back to Tiger

First, welcome to the Apple boards.
Backup what you have because it probably contains things from the original update you want to keep - network settings, passwords, etc. A bootable clone is your best bet - and test it out.
Then you need to format your HD (full, not quick) with the Leopard DVD and then reboot with the Tiger CD and install it. I am not sure how much you can migrate "downwards" from the Leopard backup, but some things will probably come along OK. Not sure about mail since it was converted by Leopard - will it unconvert? Don't know.
I have read of some who tried to simply install Tiger over Leopard but the results were less than great. You can try it once you have that clone backup, because you won't be losing anything.
I would suggest unplugging the clone during the erase and install process until you get to the migration point.

I have a brand new Leopard based MacBook Pro that I need to revert to its previous cat form of Tiger. Would you mind walking me through it? I have Tiger disks that came with another MacBook Pro so those should have all of the machine specific items I will need. As I understand this, I start the computer from the included Leopard disk and do a full format. (I noticed that there is a new partition style named GUID Partition, is this Leopard only?) Next, I load in my Tiger disks and install from those? I do not need to do any system backups as I have no information on this computer as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Brian

I have installed mountain lion on my macbook pro ,but it made my mac very slow. Would someone please tell me how  to uninstall this one and reinstall snow leopard? I tried to do it by my original CDs but macbook  pro didn't let me to do it.

It would be easier to just fix whatever is making your machine slow.
I wrote a little diagnostic program to help show what might be causing these problems. Download EtreCheck from http://www.etresoft.com/download/EtreCheck.zip, run it, and paste the results here.

  • How to uninstall pages 5 on iPad 2?

I still use pages 4 on my Mac, and have updated my iPad2 to iOS7 and spontenuously to pages 5 as well. Then, I can't read on my Mac a document in iCloud that was altered on my iPad with pages 5. Of course, to update my Mac to pages 5 would solve this, but I'd still like to use the features on pages4. Does anybody know how to uninstall pages 5 on iPad and revert back to pages4?

    Hi there,
is your app stuck in "loading status"? Or are you trying to cancel an ongoing loading process?
    if stuck:
Perform a reset of your ipad.
Hold down home-button and on/off-button together for about 10 seconds (Ipad will first show you it´s shut-off-screen, then will turn, then will show apple logo again <- that´s where you release).
After doing so my "faulty" app restored properly, I hav no more issues.
If in loading stage and you would like to cancel:
You will need to wait for loading and installation to complete.
Then press and hold down finger on any app. Apps start shaking and (if not proper to ipads iOS) will show a small circled "x" above left, press that "x", you will be asked if you really wish to delete, press ok. Done.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards
    Max
