How to uninstall ebs patch 5097966?
Dear All,
I have installed ebs patch 5097966 on ebs11.5.9 environment by using adpatch utility. The processs completed successfully.
But I found the patche isn't my requirement, the patch must be uninstalled from our system. I don't know how to uninstall it.
Can you help me on it?
Thanks & Regards
Owen
You do NOT need to apply patch 4561451 (Oracle XML Publisher Release 5.6), instead you need to apply the following patches:
1) Patch 4905678 (Oracle XML Publisher Release 5.6.1)
https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=357308.1
2) Patch 5097966 (Oracle XML Publisher Release 5.6.2)
https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=367394.1
Since you have already applied patch 5097966, then you just need to apply patch 4905678. Please follow the instructions in the note: 357308.1 carefully. Once you are done, you will be running the latest version of Oracle XML Publisher which is 5.6.2
Btw, I like your name since I am a big fan of Michael Owen :)

Regards
Mohammed.Mohammed,
I am not an expert although I have significant experience upgrading the database and applications from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and 12.1.3 in both test and production environments. The following are a few thoughts as you continue down the upgrade path:
Patch 8773483 will need to be installed in pre-install mode along with a number of other pre-install mode patches. If you haven't looked at the following note you will need to since it contains information you need:
Oracle Applications Release Notes, Release 12.1.1 [ID 798258.1]
Pay particular attention to the README.txt instructions for patch 9179588 since it wants you to merge other patches with it before applying.
Another note you need to be aware of, especially if you want reconcile past the 6 month window used for accrual write offs during the upgrade, is:
R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1]
Other good sources of information for financials are:
Impact of R12 Design in Procure To Pay Accounting Flow [ID 429105.1]
Projects Uptake of the TCA Architecture in Release 12 [ID 417511.1] <--- AR/TCA (HZ) table join information that is very good
Payments In Order Management In R12 [ID 1164613.1]
If you don't have XLE and ZX currently licensed in your 11.5.10.2 instance, you will need to license them so the tax conversion runs successfully.
If you have legal entity identifications that are more than 30 characters, you will want to be aware of the size limitation imposed on the column LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER in the table XLE.XLE_ENTITY_PROFILES, The following job will fail if the combined values exceed the LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER column length which is shortened in R12:
xleupg01.sql
There are lots of potential pitfalls in an R12 upgrade. You simply need to test, test, and test again everything you use, read the RCD's and R12 documentation as much as possible, etc ... Having said that, there are many good things about an R12 upgrade too, from both the functional and technical perspectives.

How to Uninstall the RP342 of Tux 8.1 ?
Hi,
I got a error when I tried to unstall the RP342 of the Tux8.1. Do anyon known how to clean this problem ?More details on the specific nature of the error would be required in order to advise you what to do.
The most common error when uninstalling a rolling patch occurs if the patch backup files have been removed or tampered with.
When installing a rolling patch, the old version of the BBL would be copied from $TUXDIR/bin/BBL to $TUXDIR/bin/BBL.pbk and the new patched version would be installed in $TUXDIR/bin/BBL. If the patch is ever uninstalled, then $TUXDIR/bin/BBL.pbk will be needed so that it can be renamed as $TUXDIR/bin/BBL. A similar process would occur for each other file that has been patched.
If there is a problem with uninstalling a patch, the best solution is to reinstall the base Tuxedo release in a different TUXDIR and then install the patch level (if any) that you want to install on top of this new directory. If this is successful, then the new installation directory can be linked to the previous TUXDIR you were using or you can set TUXDIR to the new directory.

Patches Uninstall on patch bundle unassign - by design?
Hi,
Recently we began testing ZCM 10.3.3 for deploying Microsoft patches to our Windows XP desktops. We have come across
a situation that whilst after some investigation looks like it might be operating as designed, we think is perhaps
the result of an over sight in how the product works. I thought I would post the scenario here to see if anyone else
had come across this and if so, what your thoughts on it might be. I am tempted to log a SR, but this might be a well
known occurrence?
Essentially what happened was that we created a patch bundle and assigned it to a device group that contained test
machines. The patch deployment went as expected with no issues observed or reported. A week later I removed the
relationship between the patch bundle and the test device group. Immediately (on next device refresh) the machines in
the test device group began to uninstall the patches in the patch bundle that had just been "unassigned". In
addition, interactive "remediate.exe" errors were thrown in any active user sessions on those machines. The errors
seemed to be related to patches that werent technically able to be uninstalled anyway.
Initially we were a little stumped by this as the ZPM patch bundle was not enabled for Uninstall, however looking at
the bundle a little closer we noticed that the actual individual patch bundles being referenced in the install action
DID have Uninstall enabled - if fact it appeared that every patch was enabled for uninstall - even those that werent
technically able to be uninstalled.
When considering this in conjunction with our global ZEnworks Explorer Configuration to Uninstall unassigned bundles
after 0 days, things started to make a little more sense - but I'm not sure this is how it should actually work.
To make a long story short, I personally dont think that the global Zenworks Explorer Configuration to uninstall
unassigned bundles after a certain amount of days should apply to patch bundles, or at least patch bundles should be
able to be excluded from this. We have this setting set to 0 days so that when we unassign licensed applications,
they are immediately removed from the desktops they have been deployed to - this is to ensure we are confident of our
licensing position in terms of how many copies of a application we may be licensed for and how many we actually have
installed in our fleet.
The implication of this situation is that for us, every time we deploy a patch, we need to maintain the assignment between
the patch and the device. On the face of it, this doesnt seem like a viable long term solution for a whole host of
reasons.
So out of this I have a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone else come across this, and if so, a) do you think this is a reasonable way for the product to be
operating, and b) how have you worked with (or around) it.
2. Is it possible to disable uninstall for the individual patch bundles that ZPM creates, or will ZPM simply "fix"
them?
I'd be very interested in peoples thoughts on this.
Cheers,Hi Shaun,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, the "Ignore chained dependencies" box is checked on the individual patch bundles and "uninstall" is disabled for the parent patch bundle itself. Do you think this sounds like a bug? If thats the case, I'll definitely open an SR for it.
Cheers, -
How to send a Patch Impact report to a user?
Hi:
This is for 12.1.3, 10g on linux. Would please someone tell me how to send a Patch impact report to a user. She doesnot want to go to EBS to look and I asked me to send her a report. I have looked but didn't see anywhere I can do that. Please guide me.
Thanks and regards873768 wrote:
I ran a patch analyzer from OAM and got a report from "Impact". I was hoping the func person can also login to the OAM and see there. But she wants me to send a report to here. But when you click on the "Impact" There is no single report but a lot of clicks. I am asking if there is way to copy/download the report?
Nayas has already answered this question -- You can save the report (File > Save As) or take a screenshot or whatever is convenient for you and send it to the user.

How to uninstall the "default" Firefox plugins?
I installed firefox from the extra repo. Sadly, it came with a bunch of plugins preinstalled (e.g., a Windows and Quicktime plugin). Primary reason I moved to Arch was to be able to install only what I want. This is not conducive to that.
Anybody know how to uninstall the plugins?
I read pacman manual and played around with pacman -Ql and -Qi etc. I also tried looking for some package that contained all the plugins. But I wasn't successful.aalib 1.4rc5-10

How to Uninstall oracle services for microsoft transaction server 64 bit
Dear All ,
I would like to know how to Uninstall only oracle services for microsoft transaction server from 11G installtion. I was trying to use "deinstall.bat" but which removes everything from the system. When i use "Oracle Universal Installer" but it doesn't let me do it. I am using Oracle 11G with patch 8 on Windows server 2008.
Any replies are highly appreciated.
ThanksHI Salman,
I am doing the following.
1. I am installing Oracle 10.2.01 Database(Not Client) on my windows Xp laptop. While installation i Choose the custom option and Check the Oracle Windows Interface. In that i check the "Install Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server" checkbox. The installation goes on fine till 99% and when it tries to install the
Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server it gives an error saying that "Microsoft Transaction server" was not found on the system.
I had previously installed the same on my laptop and it was working fine. but after uninstallation when i try to re install i get this problem.
If i go to the services.msc option in windows i still see the OracleMTSRecoveryService option even when i have uninstalled oracle. But when i try to start the services i get the following error
Could Not start the OracleMTSRecoveryService on the local computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the file specified.
Any help on how to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated -
Hi.
I have been looking for a good authoritative document on EBS patching. I would like to know exactly how patches are structured - is ATG the same as a Family Pack or is it part of the RUP?
Any docs out there?
DAYes thanks,
So:
SQL> select patch_level, status from fnd_product_installations
where patch_level like '%AD%'; 2
PATCH_LEVEL S
11i.AD.I.6 S
The above gives us Patch Level for AD product. "AD" product is the administration level of Application tier?
We could do this:
SQL> select patch_level, status from fnd_product_installations
2 where patch_level like '%AP%'
3 or patch_level like '%CE%'
4 or patch_level like '%XTR%'
5 or patch_level like '%AR%'
6 or patch_level like '%GL%'
7 or patch_level like '%AX%'
8 or patch_level like '%AD%'
9 or patch_level like '%IBY%';
PATCH_LEVEL S
11i.AX.J I
11i.GL.K I
11i.AP.N I
11i.AR.O I
11i.XTR.L N
11i.CE.K I
11i.IBY.Q I
11i.AD.I.6 S
8 rows selected.
And the above now gives us Patch level of each Product like GL.
I would really like to know this AD level, as this is a common question - what is your AD_PATCH level? Is it because we need AD to run all other patches through ADADMIN?
And anything with ATG (ATG_PF.H) is for the Technology Stack and encompasses "services that product families depend upon" ?
Thanks Hussein. -
How to Uninstall Leopard Upgrade and go back to Tiger
I would like to go back to Tiger and was wondering how to uninstall the Leopard upgrade without having to do a full reformat. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

First, welcome to the Apple boards.
Backup what you have because it probably contains things from the original update you want to keep - network settings, passwords, etc. A bootable clone is your best bet - and test it out.
Then you need to format your HD (full, not quick) with the Leopard DVD and then reboot with the Tiger CD and install it. I am not sure how much you can migrate "downwards" from the Leopard backup, but some things will probably come along OK. Not sure about mail since it was converted by Leopard - will it unconvert? Don't know.
I have read of some who tried to simply install Tiger over Leopard but the results were less than great. You can try it once you have that clone backup, because you won't be losing anything.
I would suggest unplugging the clone during the erase and install process until you get to the migration point.

I have a brand new Leopard based MacBook Pro that I need to revert to its previous cat form of Tiger. Would you mind walking me through it? I have Tiger disks that came with another MacBook Pro so those should have all of the machine specific items I will need. As I understand this, I start the computer from the included Leopard disk and do a full format. (I noticed that there is a new partition style named GUID Partition, is this Leopard only?) Next, I load in my Tiger disks and install from those? I do not need to do any system backups as I have no information on this computer as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Brian -

ThanksIt would be easier to just fix whatever is making your machine slow.
I wrote a little diagnostic program to help show what might be causing these problems. Download EtreCheck from http://www.etresoft.com/download/EtreCheck.zip, run it, and paste the results here.

I am fairly new to using Mac computers, I would like to know how to uninstall drivers, software and anything else I may install on my computer. With PC it's very easy, you go the control panel, locate what you want to uninstall and with a few clicks it's done. Can someone please help me? Thank you.
