How to uninstall Elements 6 after a failed installation?

My wife bought Elements 6 and I attempted to install it on her ibook, but entered the serial number incorrectly. Clearly some parts of the installation downloaded but these prevent a re-installation and need to be removed by an uninstaller. There is no uninstaller on the installation CD. I have installed it on my mac to make sure it works and it does, but where can I get the uninstaller?

Yes, there is an uninstaller, but it's stupidly hard to find. You start the install, only choose Remove Components rather than Install Components when you get to that screen. Are you sure your ibook meets the requirements for PSE 6? (some do not)

You don't have to and if you use any of the features removed in v12 (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1302663?tstart=0) you might want to keep it.

  • Can I safely uninstall Elements 10 after upgrading to Elements 12

    Hi everyone,
Can I safely uninstall Elements 10 after I've upgraded to Elements 12? There's nothing in the library anymore and I backup everything to an external HD.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
There will not be any issue with the uninstallation of Photoshop Elements 10 [ PSE10 ] after you have upgraded [ installed Photoshop Elements 12 ].
Before you uninstall the PSE10, please make sure that you have the serial number of it. [ Find your serial number at ( Find your serial number quickly ) ].
If you do not have the installation media, if it's a CD, you can download PSE10 again from [ Other downloads ].

  • How to uninstall Elements 8?

I installed Elements 10, but when I tried to uninstall Elements 8 I get, "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\AdobePhotoshopElements8.0.msi"  I searched the web and found one set of instuctions to manually remove the folder and registry entries.  The folders were easy, but the registry instructions appear to be for previous versions of Windows.  Are there any instructsion for Windows 7?

Actually, I spoke too soon.  When I checked I an only find about half of
the items listed.  I cannot find HKCR\Software|Adobe\Elements Organizer nor
Photoshop elements.  In HKCR\Software\Adobe\ folder there is only Acrobat.
In HKLM\Software there is no Adobe subfolder.
Also, it isn't clear to me what it means to remove the registry entry.  Do
I delete the subfolder or something else.  For exampe
    HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\UpgradeCodes\5C1E2F4B17C6F69...  is listed
as a subfolder and in the right panel it has 2 items with their names
(Default and C73EFD71E...) the type (REG_SZ for both) and Data ("value not
set" on the first and blank on the second).  So do I delete the subfolder
or an item in the subfolder.
Sorry for the questions, but I'm finding this difficult.

  • Reinstall Premier Elements 11 after the original installation drive failed. Error 1327.Invalid Drive

I am attempting to reinstall Adobe Premier Elements 11 from DVD on a Windows 7 64bit system.  The drive that hosted my original instance has failed.  It was installed on a secondary drive, E that, sadly, is no longer with the system.  In the reinstall process I am removing the original instance, as seemes to be required, but I enconter the error "Error1327.Invalid Drive: E:\".
How do I proceed with getting Adobe Premier Elements 11 back on my system?
Note: Similar problem with Photoshop Elements, except that no errors are encountered, it just fails to launch as it appears to have pointers back to the failed drive.

You would have to manually edit that info from the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software and possibly also manually empty the Windows installer cache. Perhaps soem alternate "Uninstaller" like Revo can help you clean out this stuff...

  • HT1551 How do I fix a 2nd generation Apple TV that does not restore to factory settings after a failed installation of software update 6.0?

Yesterday, I got asked by my 2nd generation Apple TV if I wanted to update download and install the new software update. I clicked "Yes" and the download and installation process began. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and when the installation completed the Apple TV automatically rebooted itself, which is what has happened with previous software updates.
Alas, after reboot, the only thing that appeared on screen was an old iTunes logo (the one with the CD in the background) and what looked like a USB cable. I went online and found out that other people had been experiencing similar problems with the newly released Apple TV 6.0 update and that they had also ended up with the same image on their screen.
As it turns out, this image apparently means that you need to restore your Apple TV to factory settings by hooking it up to your computer using a micro-USB cable and then using iTunes to restore it in a way analogous to restoring an iPhone via iTunes.
I followed all of the instructions to the letter such as disconnecting my Apple TV from all cables including the power cord and then hooking it up to my computer with the micro-USB cable. I opened iTunes and absolutely nothing happened. The Apple TV does not appear as a device so I am not able to restore it.
I have attempted rebooting my computer and leaving my Apple TV disconnected for a while before hooking it up to my computer since it apparently has an internal baterry that keeps a charge for about 30 seconds after being disconnected. Nothing has worked.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
    System configuration:
Apple TV 2nd generation running update 5.3
    iTunes version 11.1 (126)
Mac OS X 10.8.5 on an Intel Core 2 Duo

Did you follow the instructions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4367
Pay attention to differences in power connection depending on whether or not you have AppleTV2 or AppleTV 3.
Also some microUSB leads don't seem to work - try another if you can. Disconnect superfluous USB device/hubs too if possible.

  • How to uninstall Elements 12

Just purchased and installed PhotoShop Elements 13 but cannot find any way of uninstalling Photoshop  Elements 12.
Does not appear in all programs in control panel or Revo Uninstall Pro.

    Hi,
Ideally there should be an entry of PSE 12 in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
If you are not able to locate PSE 12 Entry there you can initiate PSE 12 Setup.exe (from PSE12 Installer Setup that you used for installation) ,it will launch in uninstall mode.
    Thanks,

  • Uninstall Elements 9 after installing 10?

When I installed the update to Elements 10 (Photoshop & Premier) I expected that it would replace the earlier version.  It didn't and now I have both versions on my computer.  Is there any harm in deactivating the earlier version and uninstalling?
    Thank you.

No, the worst that could happen (usually doesn't) is that a common file shared by both versions might get uninstalled in the process, in which case you'd have to reinstall PSE 10 again. I don't use PRE, but I would guess the answer is the same for it.

  • How can I reset Pages after a failed update attempt?

I tried to download an update to Pages while away from home and my WiFi network. The updater instructed me to either download the update from a WiFi connection or to use my MacBook to download the update and sync my iPad afterward. Home is 700 miles away, and I don't have access to either my MacBook or to my home network. The problem is that the Pages icon is sitting on the desktop waiting for the update to start. I can't launch Pages until I either go home or find a WiFi connection that will permit downloading the update. Is there a way to reset Pages right now so I can use the application without updating it? I've tried powering down the iPad and restarting it, but that has not helped.

    Jack,
I agree with you totally! Obviously, there's something terribly wrong with Apple's latest iTunes version 10.5 and it seems that everyone (including me) is experiencing major problems.
I don't even have any minor problems with it and neither do millions of others, so "everyone" does not have major problems.
But...Apple's "Support" people seem to be hiding behind a "firewall" from having to actually respond  to the myriad of problems this new version has created and leaving it up to the "Support Community" (i.e.- that's right...you & me) to resolve these issues.
So what did Apple Support say when you contacted them?

Why not try the App Store forum, Pages, and MacBook Pro.

  • How to restore Elements 8 after a crash

I had a hard drive crash, but had my hard drive backed up. However I can't seem to recover the file information/organization before the crash. Looking for advice.

If you mean that the Organizer's catalog is empty, search your entire computer for
    *.pse8db
and use Organizer's File...Catalog...Custom Location to browse to the directory that contains the largest *.pse8db file.

  • Deactivating after a failed installation

Installation of Adobe Premiere Elements 10 failed for some reason.  I can't resume installation without uninstalling the program.  When uninstalling I'm prompted to deactivate the serial number first, but I don't know how.  I can't do it from within the program, because I can't open it.  Any suggestions?

Simply ignore that. Unisntall and then call support should the activations be busted (which I doubt - if it never installed, it never activated).
