How to uninstall extensions from outside firefox

If Firefox won't launch/open/start even in safe mode, is there a way to edit the profile directory to get rid of selected extensions?
My prob is resolved for now I think, but would like to know this for future reference

I posted details of the trouble at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2039177&p=10157039&sid=61c4ffc0c6c2db184c1d70ddec949498#p10157039.
So, since, as Mozilla is registering I'm with 3.6.3 now because no doubt my uninstall was incomplete["Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3"], uninstalling Session Manager [which had worked fine in 3.5.15] fixed the problem.

  • How do I uninstall extensions from my mac?

How do I uninstall extensions from my mac? I'm trying to uninstall the Greatdy System Audio and Sunflower extensions. It would really be nice if macs had a comprehensive program to uninstall programs and plugins.

Open Extensions preferences in System Preferences. That is if you mean Yosemite extensions. Otherwise, use any uninstaller provided by the developer or read the following:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

how to uninstall programs from Mountain Lion?

    Hi,
Theres a couple ways to uninstall programs. The launchpad is the rocket icon on the dock. If you open that you should see your apps spread out as icons as if it would be on a iphone or other iOS device. If you just click the icon with your mouse button and continue holding the mouse button the will shake and show the X. If you click that X it will ask if you want to delete the program. This only works for programs downloaded through the APP Store. If a program does not have an X then proceed to the next way of uninstalling
-- The way to delete a program that will not delete the previous way is as followed:
    Open finder
    - On the left side you will see applications > Click that
    - Then you will see all the programs on the right side.
    - If you click on the program and drag it to your trash bin it will ask if you would like to make changes and delete.
    - Just make sure not to delete anything that was preinstalled with you Mac

    Hi gurus,
Can u guid me how to uninstall portal from windows machine.
Also please tell me the installation document procedure or document.
    Regards,
    Shivraj Chalke

    Hi!
This depends on your EP release.
For Basis release 6.40 (EP6) there should be an UNINSTSAP.EXE somewhere in your SAP-Filesystem which you need to run. Take care with the options you have, you might delete even the OS-Users (even on the domain) if you just click away without reading.
For Basis release 7.00 (EP7) you call sapinst and select 'uninstall' under 'Additional Software Lifecycle tasks'. This will guide you through the process of uninstallation.
If these operations fail you can manually clean the system by removing the files and cleaning the registry. This is only a sort of last resort though.
    Regards,
    Jörg

  • How to uninstall Windows7 from MacBookPro???

How to uninstall Windows7 from MacBookPro???

If you installed Windows 7 in a VMware Fusion Virtual Machine just Delete the vertual Machine. If you right click on it in the Fusion virtual machine manager window you get an option to Delete/Remove the VM from the system. This will completely remove all files.
But I must say there is no real need to do this as it is not taking up that much space on your hard drive and you never know you may need to run a windows program every now and then.

    Thanks Clinton,
I tried that way first but the problem is; there is no uninstall or remove Windows7 option. I am using VMvare Fusion4 with Windows7Pro and I'd like to delete the Windows now.
According to YouTube videos; it's suppose to be 'Remove Windows7' option at "Select Task" in Boot Camp Assistant however there isn't.
    My options are;
    1) Download the latest Windows support software from Apple and
    2) Install Windows7 or later version.
So, do you know what should I do?
    Thanks,
    Cloudss

Where do you get kaspersky anti banner and kaspersky URL advisor extensions from for firefox v5

You need to contact Kaspersky about their plans for supporting Firefox 4. It is quite common for companies to only support a new version of a browser after it has been officially released, and not support it during the beta/release candidate phase.
You should check for any Kaspersky updates in case they have already added support for Firefox 4

  • How to uninstall GorillaPrice from HP Pavilion HPE h8-1160t CTO Desktop PC

    Greetings
Recently I had found out I had GorillaPrice installed on my computer. Further research and I found out it is a nasty virus like program. I attempted to uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller, and it appeared that it worked. But now, a few weeks later, I open up task manager and it says GorillaPrice is running. When I end the task, browser immedietely shuts down and disconnects from the proxy server. This sounds like a big issue. Any help?

    Petey, welcome to the forum.
Here is a guide that may help you remove GorillaPrice from your computer:
    HOW TO REMOVE GorillaPrice?
Typically, GorillaPrice relies on the freeware and shareware when it seeks to infiltrate computers. If you didn't download it manually, you should eliminate GorillaPrice from your computer because it may initiate privacy related issues. First of all, click 'Start menu' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Uninstall a Program' or 'Add/Remove Programs' and choose 'Uninstall' button when you see GorillaPrice's entry.
Additionally, remove GorillaPrice browser extension from your browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer) and also change your homepage and search engine back to normal if it was altered. For that, follow these steps:
    Google Chrome:
Open Google Chrome -> click Wrench Icon -> Settings -> Manage Search Engines -> Remove GorillaPrice and other unnecessary entries from the list and make a certain search engine as default search engine
    Mozilla Firefox:
Open Mozilla Firefox -> go Tools -> Magnify Glass or Arrow icon -> Manage Search Engines -> Remove unnecessary Search Engines from the list, make Google or other search engine as your default; Open Mozilla Firefox, go ‘Tools’ -> ‘Add-ons’ -> ‘Extensions’ and find GorillaPrice, and click ‘Uninstall’.
    Internet Explorer:
Open IE -> go Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Search Providers -> Remove unnecessary GorillaPrice and make a certain engine as default; Open Internet Explorer, go ‘Tools‘ -> ”Manage Add-ons’ -> ‘Toolbars and Extensions’. Here, look for GorillaPrice and click 'uninstall'.
Please click the "Thumbs Up+ button" if I have helped you and click "Accept as Solution" if your problem is solved.

  • How to uninstall and reinstall if firefox is my only internet connection

getting directed to bad place when accessing internet. Did virus scan, found nothing.
How can I uninstall and reinstall firefox since I have no other internet connection. I DO NOT was to load internet explorer.

Bad redirects can result from a variety of causes, including (1) system level malware, (2) system level settings changes, (3) bad Firefox add-on, (4) Firefox settings changes, (5) other (depending on the nature of the redirect).
Here's what I suggest for tracking it down:
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    (3) Check your '''Firefox connection setting''' in the Options dialog here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" connection settings, but you also can try "No Proxy" to see whether that works better.
    (4) Search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Are you able to get rid of the unwanted redirect?

  • How to uninstall Bing from my eMac, I use Fox Fire as my browser

How do I uninstall Bing from my eMac? Thanks for any help, I'm going crazy

Not sure which version of FireFox you have. I think PPC Macs like the eMac are limited to version 3.something. Let's try this:
In the newer versions, you can find "Add-ons" in the "Tools" menu. It's probably similar in older ones, possibly in FireFox Prefences. When I do Tools > Add-ons, I get:
If I control-click any add-on, I get the option to disable it. There is also a "Diable" button at the far right edge that didn't show up in the screen shot. See if there is a Bing plug-in; if so, disable it.
If there is no Bing add-on, it sounds like your choice of search engine has changed. There is a small disclosure triangle in the search window. Click it and you get a choice of search engines:
If you select "Manage Search Engines..." you get the opportunity to completely remove any engine you don't want darkening your door.
IF your version doesn't look like this, post pack and I'll fire up one of our PPC Macs running Tiger and see what an old FF version needed.
