How to uninstall Hp ProtectTools Security Manager?

I want to install Windows 10 but for that it shows that I need to uninstall all the Hp softwares like ProtectTools etc. Anyway so how am I supposed to do that? Cause I tried doing that from Add/Remove Hardwares and it says to uninstall the rest of the applications and I can't find that. So any help how to do that? Thank you.

Hello @HEIRSON ,
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
Even though this is a Commercial product, click on start, control panel, go to programs and features. Uninstall programs from there.
Thanks.

  • Uninstall HP ProtectTools Security Manager

Hello, Can you please help me with HP ProtectTools Security Manager removal? (HP ProBook 4530s)Reasons:  /slowing Windows startup and login  /extremely slow loading  /can not remove user password  /blocking some security accesses (I´m admin, so why is this???) I tried to uninstall it via Windows Control panel, side-provided software and also by following uninstall-steps found somewhere in forums. All these metods (3) with no results... Nothing works. I would really appreciate some help or tips. Thank You

    Mrsenter,
    FINALLY GOT IT WORKING!
After 50+ hours of installs, uninstalls and reboots I found the problem and fix.
Problem: Everytime I uninstalled the fingerprint driver it automatically re-installed itself with these files
    C:\Windows\system32\ATSwpWDFColnst.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\ATSwpWDF.sys
    C:\Windows\system32\WdfCoinstaller01007.dll
After this happened a funny thing happens. The option Device Manager_Other devices_ Fingerprint Sensor then dissapears
    Fix:
Just after the fingerprint driver reinstalls itself theres a window of about 20 secs where the option Device Manager_Other devices_ Fingerprint Sensor still appears. At this point I right clicked and updated that driver as per instructions http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/DigitalPersona-AuthenTec-fingerprint-and-Windows-7/td-p/218831.
The correct files for the fingerprint driver are now:
    C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\ATSwpWDF.sys
    C:\Windows\system32\TrueSuitColnst02020000.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\WdfCoinstaller01009.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\WinBioPlugins\ATEngineAdapter.dll
    And now it works...
Tip: Download fingerprint Driver before and have it extracted so you can make the 20 sec window for updating the driver
    Many thanks,
    Sa

I use HP ProtectTools Security Manager to control my passwords. When i updated to Firefox 30. I received the following error message ; Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (dpql) isn't associated with any program. How can I solve this problem ?

    Hi le.hamzou,
Previous suggestions were to update the Security Manager if there was one. There were also these add ons:
[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fingerfox-se/ Fingerfox], but I am not sure if it will work on win8, it does on win7.
Another work around I saw was [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=ietab&appver=29.0&platform=all IE Tab].

  • HP ProtectTools Security Manager and Windows 10

I am going to be updating to Windows 10, howevver it is saying that the HP ProtectTools Security Manager is not compatible with Windows 10. 2 questions I have. The first is: Is there going to be a replacement for these tools for Windows 10?Second is: How do I uninstall the tools so that I can proceed, properly?

Indeed! These instructions are useful but there is a newer version of Client Security Manager http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_141863_1 Just to inform others users, HP protect tools security Manager has been rebranded to Client Security Manager. So it's the same software, they just change the name and the logo

  • How to uninstall the BlackBerry desktop manager

    Hello everyone,
Roxio Media manager keeps on installing itself.  I read on this forum that I have uninstall the BB desktop manager, and install it again to solve the issues.  WINDOWS CAN NOT DELETE IT. When I delete the BlackBerry desktop manager, it just tries to install itself again. In the mean time Roxio Media manager keeps on trying to install itself.  DOES RIM HAS UNSTALLATION PROGRAM FOR THE BB DESKTOP MANAGER?  I would appreciate any help.

  • How log in through LastPass security manager?

Great; and without this capability, we can't even get into the app store on the iphone to write a scathing review for LastPass Premium service!

  • Disable or uninstal HP ProtectTools security manager

My fingerprint scanner has gone down.
I assume it is a hardware issue as have gone through all HP recomendations to get it working at: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c02519007&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_us...
    but nothing has worked.
Anyway the notebook never leaves my house so it's not an issue. However, everytime I turn the notebook on and log in with my password, HP security manager butts in and spends a minute looking for the reader before telling me the biometric authentication service is not working and asks if I would like to continue without it.
Can I disable this program to speed boot up time as it is not needed in my instance?

    Hi @taliz ,
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
Even though this is a Commercial product, You could follow these steps, even though, I don't recommend this as it is Security Tools.
Step 1:Click Start, then "All Programs." Select "HP Protect Tools Security Manager" from the list of programs.
Step 2:Click "Settings." Click the box to the left of the menu. The green check in the box should disappear, which means that the application is disabled.
Step 3:Close the window and restart the computer.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks.

  • How to run the rmi security manager

how to run the rmi security manager

You need to make a special class, where you give all permissions or socket permissions, then in promt you just call this class with following:
java -Djava.security.all=all then package name, then Class name. All is the name og permission class.
    Good luck!

  • Digitalpersona´s HP protecttools security manager does not recognize sign in pages as such with FF4

With FF3.6 and previous, when visiting i.e. my bank site, and loading a sign-in page previously recorded with sign-in info and passwords stored with ProtectTools Password Manager, I was prompted to fill and submit such stored info. Since upgrade to FF4, the mentioned soft does not recognize sign in pages as such, therefore, not prompting for fill in and submitt, nor does it recognize sign in pages on any site, to prompt for recording the sign in info or password.

I think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?
    IdleActionSec=9min
    IdleAction=suspend
Will check it and report back.

  • How to UNINSTALL "Kaspersky Tablet Security"

To whom it may concern, really...
ALL Toshiba Thrives (8, 16, and 32GB models) come with Kaspersky Tablet Security preinstalled and with 30 days free to try it.  I did activate the trial to see if it was better than my favorite AV.  It is not.  Big disapointment.
The problem is:  my favorite antivirus will not install until Kaspersky is UNinstalled.
The bigger problem is:  KASPERSKY TABLET SECURITY cannot be uninstalled... no matter what I try.
Acording to an email received from Kaspersky, it is Toshiba who does not allow the software to be unsintalled since it was them who "pre" insalled it, and they said to contact Toshiba about it.
At many forums they recommend to "root" the tablet, but, I like the way it is.
Toshiba, HOW DO I UNINSTALL KASPERSKY?  I need to install my own antivirus.
Is this a way to force consumer to buy Kaspersky?
I WILL RETURN MY TOSHIBA THRIVE IF KASPERSKY CANNOT BE REMOVED.

    Get your receipt ready.
Toshiba has proven that they will not remove this software from the system partition, which is why you need to root to uninstall it.
So yeah, I had to remove it because with kapersky installed, it kept crashing and locking me out. Where root got me the ability. Honestly, you don't even need to do a full root. you just need to delete the software apk from your device. But since the term rooting is a bit obscure, all you really need to do is unlock your system partition.
    - Signature Starts Now -
I don't work for Toshiba, so please consider my advice Free; like Open Source.
*OH HAIZ! I rooted teh Thrives*
