How to Uninstall Oracle 10G release 1
I'm a newbie in Oracle DB.
I've been assigned to a new task to assist DBA teams to migration SQL server to Oracle server. I got a new PC which pre-installed 2 Oracles version (9i & 10G), the 9i is OK but the 10G DID NOT work properly and I'd liked to replace 10G release 1 with 10G release 2 (for testing purpose).
I did followed the instruction how to remove the 10G release 1 using the OUI, but the process ran forever ... ( see screenshot --> http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/5555/oui10g1qb8.jpg )
I'm also know that I can delete Oracle thru Regedit, but in some Reg. keys do not show the Oracle version (I want to keep the Oracle 9i).
Could someone please enlight me how to uninstall Oracle 10G ?
PC's info:
OS : Windows XP Prof.
1GB RAM
50GB free space
All the Oracle services have been disable before Uninstall.
Thanks Advance.
DTH.Thanks Marcio ...
I'm current process the step by step to remove 10G release 1, if I've problem then I'll let you know

anyone's help would be greatly appreciated, hope will get out of this mess
Thanks a lot in advanced
Chowdaryyes, I know that I have installed OBIEE and those services related to OBIEE
my main objective is to install OBIEE and for that I got to install oracle database, I did install both database and OBIEE then I didn't find any database to use for OBIEE (silly right :P). yes, that is true and I'm lost
what to do now?
Found easy way is re-installing, I tried uninstalling both and not sure whether database was deleted or not, the same case with OBIEE
what I'm asking you is, "HOW TO ENSURE THAT I HAVE NO ORACLE DATABASE ON MY SYSTEM?"
Don't take me the other-way, I'm very new with Oracle products
Thanks for the patience & time of course :)
Awaiting for your valuable response

How to Uninstall oracle services for microsoft transaction server 64 bit
Dear All ,
I would like to know how to Uninstall only oracle services for microsoft transaction server from 11G installtion. I was trying to use "deinstall.bat" but which removes everything from the system. When i use "Oracle Universal Installer" but it doesn't let me do it. I am using Oracle 11G with patch 8 on Windows server 2008.
Any replies are highly appreciated.
ThanksHI Salman,
I am doing the following.
1. I am installing Oracle 10.2.01 Database(Not Client) on my windows Xp laptop. While installation i Choose the custom option and Check the Oracle Windows Interface. In that i check the "Install Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server" checkbox. The installation goes on fine till 99% and when it tries to install the
Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction server it gives an error saying that "Microsoft Transaction server" was not found on the system.
I had previously installed the same on my laptop and it was working fine. but after uninstallation when i try to re install i get this problem.
If i go to the services.msc option in windows i still see the OracleMTSRecoveryService option even when i have uninstalled oracle. But when i try to start the services i get the following error
Could Not start the OracleMTSRecoveryService on the local computer.
Error 3: The system cannot find the file specified.
Any help on how to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated -
How to uninstall Oracle completely

I would like to uninstall Oracle completely, and take it out of my accounts at the start up, how can I do that?

Thank you
OlgaKindly follow the checklist. I have many times done clean installation on windows using oracle 9i fortunately did not face any issues. Thank you

Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
Run regedit.exe and delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE key. This contains registry entires for all Oracle products.
Delete any references to Oracle services left behind in the following part of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Ora*
It should be pretty obvious which ones relate to Oracle.
Reboot your machine.
Delete the "C:\Oracle" directory, or whatever directory is your ORACLE_BASE.
Delete the "C:\Program Files\Oracle" directory.
Empty the contents of your "c:\temp" directory.
Empty your recycle bin.
At this point your machine will be as clean of Oracle components as it can be without a complete OS reinstall.
Remember, manually editing your registry can be very destructive and force an OS reinstall so only do it as a last resort.
======== for unix ==================
Uninstalling all products from UNIX is a lot more consistent. If you do need to resort to a manual uninstall you should do something like:
Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
Stop any outstanding processes using the appropriate utilities:
# oemctl stop oms user/password
# agentctl stop
# lsnrctl stop
Alternatively you can kill them using the kill -9 pid command as the root user.
Delete the files and directories below the $ORACLE_HOME:
# cd $ORACLE_HOME
# rm -Rf *
With the exception of the product directory, delete directories below the $ORACLE_BASE.
# cd $ORACLE_BASE
# rm -Rf admin doc jre o*
Delete the /etc/oratab file. If using 9iAS delete the /etc/emtab file also.
# rm /etc/oratab /etc/emtab

How to uninstall Oracle Database 11g release 2?
Hi,
I want to uninstall Oracle Database 11g release 2.
Im executing the deinstall.bat that is on:
C:\app\MachineName\product\11.2.0\dbhome_2\deinstall
then in the command window, i get this message:
Specify all Single Instance listeners that are to be de-configured [LISTENER]:
What should i enter here?
what is a listener?
thanks..mseberg wrote:
Generally the default ( return key ) is correct.
The listener is the network feature that helps you connect. It listens for new connection attempts.
I like to think of it as a traffic cop which allows a connection, but has nothing to do with afterwards.
The Listener is a named process which runs on the Oracle Server, awaiting requests from Clients to connect to the Instance.
The listener does not normally handle connections after the initial request has been done. The listener listens on a port the default is 1521.
Best Regards
msebergthanks a lot, i followed the steps and it is uninstalled now. -
Hi,
I dont remember the password that i set it up when i installed Oracle. But is there a way that i can uninstall Oracle Bi without a password.
I tried to uninstall the BI from OracleBI\Server\uninstall\setup.exe. The default user name is oc4jadmin and somewhere i read and set the password as oc4jadmin by going to ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml. But still it doesn't work. Can sombody help me?
Thanks,
SujaYes, you are right.
Gathered some info on this task
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28957/deploysimple.htm#BABBHDBJ
This is what you need to do reset the password.
1) Stop OC4J, if it is already running.
2) Open system-jazn-data.xml C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\config\
3) Locate Credentials property. It will appear something like {903}4L50lHJWIFGwLgHXTub7eYK9e0AnWLUH=
4) Change the credentials property value to desired password by prefixing the password with !.
!Admin123
5) Start oc4j and the password will be encrypted in the file.
If you are running OC4J in a windows environment you can get the password easily by doing this:
To find OC4JADMIN password in a Windows environment do this:
(1) RIGHT CLICK on Stop OC4J (located in Start > All Programs > Business Intelligence)
(2) In the Stop OC4J properties box click on Shortcut tab
(3) the password is shown in the Target box as part of the shutdown command line. For example: "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_11\bin\java.exe" -jar C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\admin.jar ormi://localhost:23791 oc4jadmin oc4jadmin -shutdown force
Hope this helps!

How to Uninstall Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM) on 11g
At our site, we need to adhere to the SRR (Security Readiness Review) STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide), and one of the security "findings" is the presence of Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM). The STIG recommends the deinstallation of OCM (which we have made part of our site standard for 10g), and it cites Oracle MetaLink Notes 369111.1 and 728989.1 as reference material for the deinstallation. Unfortunately, these Oracle documents refer to 10g, not 11g, and the script to deinstall OCM ($ORACLE_HOME/ccr/admin/scripts/dropocm.sql) is missing in 11g.
Does anyone know of a documented way to uninstall OCM in 11g? We are using Oracle 11.1.0.7 on Solaris 10.
Thanks,
JThanks for the link! The "Oracle® Database Installation Guide 11g Release 1 (11.1) for Solaris Operating System" link you provided says:
+6.3 Removing Oracle Configuration Manager+
To uninstall Oracle Configuration Manager, follow these steps:
If the $ORACLE_HOME directory contains a database, remove the Oracle Configuration Manager user and the associated objects from the database by running the following script:
SQL> $ORACLE_HOME/ccr/admin/scripts/dropocm.sql
If the database is a repository for the Oracle E-Business Suite, log in to the database as an SYSDBA user and remove the additional objects from the database by running the following script:
+$ORACLE_HOME/ccr/admin/scripts/ebs_dropccr.sql Oracle_Applications_User+
If the database is a repository for Oracle Grid Control, log in to the database as the SYSMAN user and remove the additional objects from the database by running the following script:
+$ORACLE_HOME/ccr/admin/scripts/dropemrep_collect.sql+
To stop the Scheduler and remove the service or the crontab entry, enter the following command:
+$ORACLE_HOME/ccr/bin/deployPackages -d $ORACLE_HOME/ccr/inventory/core.jar+
Delete the ccr directory by entering the following command:
+$ rm -rf $ORACLE_HOME/ccr+
Oracle Configuration Manager is successfully uninstalled.
However, $ORACLE_HOME/ccr/admin/scripts/dropocm.sql does not exist on our system. -
How to uninstall oracle 10g????

thanksHi,
Run the Oracle installer, Then in the next to opening screen, you will have option to see installed product. In the installed product choose the product and click uninstall. In unix it is very easy to deinstall the product by deleting the $ORACLE_HOME directory.
I am not sure what is your plateform.

I need to install oracle 10g client on hundreds of computers (I'm OK with that task), but before that, I want to uninstall a former oracle 8i client...

I found this [http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B13804_02/deinstall.htm] but it looks "heavy"
Otherwise, I saw that OUI has these options :
-deinstall
-removeallfiles
-nowarningremovefile
but i don't how to use them...
Can anyone help me?
ThanksHi,
Sorry , I forgot to put {} in one of the options.

How to uninstall Oracle 11g Database Options?
I've come across a problem. A company that developed an application, installed Oracle 11g EE.
I guess they would use all default options. Some of them are licensed separately, and are not used. So I need to uninstall them.
For example, I see that it is installed "Advanced Compression". I tried to uninstall it from the Universal Installer, but there isn't an option.Good news for my company.
There has never been used "Advanced Compression" and for everything else we are licensed.

Hi,
I have installed oracle client 11.2.0.3.0 silently using the response file with INSTALL type as runtime. I want to remove 'Oracle sql developer' from the installed products. Using Oracle Universal Installer I am able to remove this component in GUI. Please provide me the silent switch to remove this component. I have tried with DEINSTALL_LIST property , but I am getting an error that 'no products selected for deinstall'. Please suggest on this.Pl post your OS details
AFAIK, SQL Developer is not included in the Oracle Client install - it is a separate install. You will have to follow the instructions for uninstalling SQL Developer - check the docs for your specific version of SQLD - Oracle SQL Developer
e.g. for 3.1, see Installing Oracle SQL Developer
