How to uninstall pre loaded Office Trail

New to the world of a Mac and got myself a lil baby Mini. Although I got a 80gig drive I only have about 10gig left as I do quite a bit of vid editing.
How can I uninstall the Office trial software?
I know this was a big file on my PC and am sure it will free up some space.
Please make it idiot proof if you reply so I don't screw something up.
Thanks!

Hi THX,
Well, I'm not 100% positive if there is, but check the Microsoft Office application folder and see if there is an uninstaller, if so, just use it. Alternatively, type 'Microsoft Office' into the search bar in a finder window and trash all the files that appear. That's all you need to do.
Disc space is critical to keeping your machine healthy and having a long life and 10GB is the recommended minimum amount of free disc space. I like to keep around 50% free space. I have two external hard drives. Does your mini have a Super Drive? If so, I would suggest burning a lot of your video footage to DVD as data to free up your hard disc, unfortunately you can only do this with files that are under 4.5 gigs. If you can't do that then I would suggest you buy a Firewire external hard drive asap or you may be posting back with something like, "My hard drive crashed. How can I get all my movies back?" - Food for thought.

@Abi99 WOW! It worked like a charm.
It didn't work when I patched MobiMB by replacing my mobile code RM-949 before 6700 ( see attachment, hexeditor.png, navigation point - 1 ), now I placed my mobile code RM-940 after 6700 ( see attachment, hexeditor.png, navigation point - 2 ). Annnnnnnnnnnnd! BOOOM! This is what I got! (see attachment, mobimb3.png)
Thank you sooooooooooo much @Abi99 . It was my mistake, I didn't follow your tutorial properly. First, I hesitated to install hex editor on my PC, when my AV detected it as adware. But I trust you, I disabled my AV and gone ahead and enabled my AV. It worked just fine.
BTW, is there any list of items, which are safe to delete?

  • How do you uninstall pre-loaded software?

I am looking to free up some space on my hard drive, and I would like to get rid of the some of the unnecessary preloaded applications. I know that this can be done on windows but can it be done on macs, and if so how?

I agree with Eric in that if you haven't had your MacBook very long and can backup you data well it's probably best to reinstall using a "Custom Install" and pick and choose what you want on there.
AppZapper is.....mmm okay. I got it when MacZot had a deal and got it for 65 cents or I wouldn't have gotten it (Spotlight is just as good). Problem with most if not all of the pre-loaded application are they're package installed. AppZapper IMHO has limited success uninstalling them.
I used to use DesInstaller to rid myself of .pkg installs. I'm not sure if there's a Universal of it or not. I now use OSXPM which manages .pkg files (creates them too!) and while it's a beta it works well and it's free (so far).

  • How to burn pre-loaded OS

    Hi All!
I just wanted to ask, how can i burn or create a bootable DVD from the pre-loaded OS which is WIN 7 Home Premium x64. I dont have Windows automated installed kit (waik) and tis time consuming to download it for it is 1.37GB of size..any help will be much..Thanks

Pre-loaded OS is from the Recovery Disk. Instead of burning it directly, why don't you do a "Product Recovery Media" since burning those would also contain your OS and your factory initial condition.

  • How to uninstall the Microsoft Office 60 day trail

I am a new kid on the block and continue to learn every day what is on my system. I would like to know the procedure I need to follow to get rid of that piece of software. The other (dumb) question I have is when I finally do uninstall it will there be any other problems it may cause by being off my system??

Go to Control panel and chose Add/Remove program.
There you can get rid of all you do not need.
Do not hesitate to ask =)

  • Gifting an IPad, How can I pre-load Pictures?

Hi all... Like the topic says, I'm gifting an IPad for Christmas, and I would like to load some pictures of good times and family onto it prior to giving it to them.
I pre-ordered mine when they first came out, and cannot remember if you HAVE to use ITunes to "activate" it like the IPhone... If this is the case, then how can I go about getting it activated, and syncing photos onto it? They have an IPhone, so they already have an ITunes account... Or is it even possible?
    Thanks for any help/suggestions....

    Thank you Ralph.
Will it cause any issues for them, when they go to sync it to their machines, being that I activated it with my account?
I'm pretty sure they can just back it up, and or just copy the pictures(that I sync'ed) from the IPad, so that they can keep those pictures as well as load their own... I'm just unsure if there will be any issues when activating it with my account...
    Thanks again

  • How can I pre-load the Flash on my page?

I added Flash navigation to my HTML site. Whenever I click on
a link, the Flash has to reload on every new page, so it takes a
second longer to appear. Otherwise it works ok... this is just kind
of annoying. Is there any way around this?

  • How to disable pre-loading of PDF documents ?

Since the new Adobe Reader X, whenever the cursor in Windows explorer happens to be on a PDF file, Adobe Reader automatically launches two instances of its executable into the system memory, using CPU and RAM resources regardless if the user actually intends to open that PDF document or not.
I find this behaviour undesirable and unacceptable, and I'm baffled that such a radical change would be implemented in a program without giving the user a menu option to disable it.
Since there is no menu option, could someone please tell me how can I otherwise stop this from happening ?
    Thank you.

    Roy,
    Role and Workset Hierarchy:
Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.
Below are the links for configuring levels of TLN and right below it you will find link for define entry point:

  • Can't Uninstall pre-loaded apps!

And, even if "force-stopped" they re-start as soon as the phone is re-booted; so ALL my data allowance is being consumed by crap apps that were activated by the Verizon Salesguy - apps I never use, don't want, and can NOT control.
There MUST be a legal way to turn off or uninstall this crap!
    ANY help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to uninstall Microsoft Office trial on Satellite A200?

I have a Satellite A200. It came with Vista Premium but I have since upgraded to Ultimate. It came with a 60 day trial for Office 2007 which I am not interested in. I installed Office XP (which works). However documents from emails etc will start opening in Word 2007. Setup for this causes an error, although it still seems to work when you get rid of the error message.
What I really want to do is uninstall the trial. However it won't let me - it goes through "Preparing to uninstall" and then that just disappears and nothing has happened and the program is still there. In the Microsoft Office folder the 2 versions seem to have become intermingled. I have uninstalled Office XP and tried to uninstall 2007 after that, but still no joy.
Don't know if it's got anything to do with fact that setup has not completed properly.
Any ideas anyone on how to get rid of it?
    Val

Usually you should be able to remove all applications in the Windows Vista -> Software settings.
What you could do is to remove the whole Office 2007 folder. Usually the Office lives the files here:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
Then you could use an 3rd party freeware application called CCleaner to clean the registry!

  • How to uninstall MS office 2007 if i already loaded office 2011?

I have a new macbook pro retinal display. both MS office 2007 band 2011 are loaded, as I migrated the old computer on to this. I am trying to uninstall 2007, but the uninstall feature does not need to work. how can I do this? thanks

You needed to uninstall this old Office first. It is not a Mac version. You cannot run the Windows uninstaller. So, see the following. Of course not all will work exactly on the Mac as on a Windows box, but you can try to hunt down everythat that belongs to the Windows version and toss it. You can start by locating a Windows folder for Office in your Applications folder and removing it.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner 2.1.0
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash 1.8.2
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller 1.15.1
      10. Spring Cleaning 11.0.1

A 2003 MS office sounds like a Windows version.  A 2004 MS Office that was Mac compatible can not be run natively on a new MBA since the Lions do not run PPC applications.  You will have to get a newer edition of MS Office that is compatible with your new MBA.
    Ciao.

  • How syncronize with the data base after pre-loading the data

    Hi,
I have pre-loaded the data from the database table into the cache.
If the key is not found in the cache i want to it to connect to database and get the value from the table. How to achieve this?

    Hi JK,
I have pasted my cache loader code, config file and the main class in the other post but i m not sure what is the issue with it. Its not working. Please can you tell me what might be the issue with that piece of code. I m not getting any exception either but the load() or loadAll() method is not at all getting triggered on invoking cache.get() or cache.getAll() method. What might be the cause for this issue?
Can you give me the coherence-cache-config.xml contents?
I m not sure whether its the issue with the config file because i have read some where that refreshaheadfactor is required to trigger the loadAll() method.
