  • How to uninstall update Bridge

    Hi there,
How do I uninstall *just* an update on my mac, not the whole program?
I accidentally updated my Bridge CS6, but it is updated in the wrong language, so I would like to deinstall this latest update. How do I proceed?
    Thanks

Donouwens Bridge CS6 needs to be installed as part of an application which includes Bridge.  I would recommend removing and reinstalling Photoshop CS6 to reinstall Bridge CS6.  Please make sure to utilize the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.

  • HT2305 I am currently using a PC and it wont update which means the itunes I am using on my comuter is not up to date. How can I update it? do I have to uninstall and install it again?

Today when I recieved my new phone I realized I needed to back the older one up so I tried and failed when my computer said that my Itunes was out of date so I went on itunes to find out that I have no idea how to just update itunes with out uninstalling it. does anyone know how?

What do you mean it "won't update"?  That is extremely vague and frankly a useless statement.
What happens when you try to update iTunes?  Any errors?
There is no reason to uninstall.
If you want, you can always download and install the latest version from Apple's website, that is essentially all the update does anyways.

  • I need to update to 6.0 but it doesn't work--I've tried several times and it never gets past the stage of "connecting to update server"--so how can I update without uninstalling first and losing all my bookmarks and passwords?

I have a MacBook Pro with Lion. Every few days Firefox will tell me, "you really need to update to 6.0," and I say, "yes please!" but then it says "connecting to update server" for ages and ages and nothing ever happens. I wouldn't mind uninstalling the old one and downloading a new one, except that I have lots of bookmarks and passwords saved, and I don't want to lose them all. So what's going on, how can I update?

Thanks, but, using the "free" version of Reader, there is no opportunity to open nor import the xml data - the menu options do not exist - there is no import listed.
If we try to open the xml file directly, then we get an error - something to the effect of "unsupported file type, or the file is corrupted".
I just noticed in my Pro version that there is the command File ->Form Data ->Import Data to Form... command. Is this what you are referring to?
What do you recommend? Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be to purchase a few copies of Acrobat Pro for the reservations people to use? I was hoping that the free version of reader would do it, but perhaps not?
    Thanks again,
    Rob

  • How to uninstall on Mac for customUpdateUI and disable Updater.update()?

    Hi there,
I am getting a strange behavior on the Mac and see if anyone
    has similar issue.
    First, I deployed a
"version 1" application and installed on the machine with
customeUpdateUI=true, when the app install, it will attempt
    to update using
    Updater.update() in the following manner,
    quote:
    private function runUpdate(updatePath:String):Boolean {
    if (!updatePath)
    return false;
    var file:File = new File(updatePath);
    if (!file || !file.exists)
    return false;
    var updater:Updater = new Updater();
    updater.update(file, "version 2");
    return true;
Then I repeat the step above for
"version 2" and everything is working great. The update is
working fine on Windows and on Mac. (This code is for demo only, I
didn't hardcode the version # in the app. ;)
The problem I have is re-install.
On Windows, if you uninstall "version 1", then install
    "version 2", works great
    On a
Mac, if you uninstall "version 1", then install "version 2"
fails, error message for "version mismatch".
It seems there is still something left behind on the Mac when
uninstall the app, such that when I launch "version 2" install, it
is still attempting to run update from the local installed app,
rather than the update from the new installed .air file.
Anyone have similar issue? How to uninstall an AIR app on the
Mac? Do I just trash the App directory, or do I need to perform
    additional clean up?
Besides trashing the app directory, I also tried to delete
anything suggest to me is Adobe AIR related info, including,
    /User/Library/App Support/Adobe
    /User/Library/Preferences
    /Library/App Support/Adobe
Please don't hesitate to let me know if anything I can
    provide to identify this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
OS: Mac OS X and Tiger

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
The case is on the Mac, suppose my app is call myApp.air
    1. Run myApp.air, install version 1, works great
    2. Make a new myApp.air, name it version 2.
    3. Run myApp.air, upgrade version 1 to version 2, works
    great.
    4. Uninstall version 2 by delete the installation folder. For
example, if I install on /Users/MyApp, delete the folder and empty
    trash.
    5. Install version 2 myApp.jar, error message complains
    version mismatch.
On windows, I can uninstall from Control Panel. On the Mac, I
don't know how I should remove an AIR app, and so I just went ahead
and delete the app install folder.
Thanks in advance! Really appreciate your assistance.

  • HT5744 Anyone knows how to uninstall this update?

    Hi
I want to uninstall this update from my system, (knowing security risk, doesn't care security if hardware doesn't work)
I know that this update was compiled with a unestable and buggy Oracle Java version not RC, was beta and Apple put it like RC.
Please how to uninstall this update?

The Software update version is bonked, the latest bug fix is here for 10.6 users.

Pasting: java -version into Terminal and pressing Enter should reveal this after the update which fixes the bug.
    java version "1.6.0_51"

  • How to uninstall Inquisitor and use the updated AcidSearch (in Leopard)

Title says it all I think - I loved AcidSearch - enough that I didn't use Safari 3 (beta) in Tiger because it killed AcidSearch and when I migrated to Leopard I missed it dearly and have been getting by unhappily with Inquisitor. Now there's a new AcidSearch and it's installed but my search tab is still controlled by Inquisitor - which I can't remove.
The two ways to remove it that I've found while googling are running the install app again and clicking 'uninstall' - however that isn't an option - it just installs over the top over and over - or by removing it from the Input Managers folder in Library - but that's seemingly a Tiger-only folder now and there's nothing Inquisitor-related in it...
I guess the other question I have is actually which is better - I only just now realized I can add search engines to Inquisitor - so that might make it very functionally similar to AcidSearch. I don't have very fast broadband, so I feel the predictive element of Inquisitor is useless.
Any thoughts on which is better and/or how to uninstall Inquisitor (so I can choose!) would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Alex,
I just installed it to see where it places files, and the only place the latest version seems to install anything is in Hard drive -> Library -> Input Managers.
It also (annoyingly) renamed my users Input Managers folder to what you have, i.e. Input Managers-Tiger (I have Cocoa Gestures in there, which was working just fine Mr InquisitorX developer...)
After deleting the Inquisitor bundle from the top level Input Managers folder and restarting Safari it appears to have gone.
What version were you using before? Have you tried downloading the same version from versiontracker.com and seeing if the uninstall in that version works?

  • How to Uninstall Leopard Upgrade and go back to Tiger

I would like to go back to Tiger and was wondering how to uninstall the Leopard upgrade without having to do a full reformat. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

First, welcome to the Apple boards.
Backup what you have because it probably contains things from the original update you want to keep - network settings, passwords, etc. A bootable clone is your best bet - and test it out.
Then you need to format your HD (full, not quick) with the Leopard DVD and then reboot with the Tiger CD and install it. I am not sure how much you can migrate "downwards" from the Leopard backup, but some things will probably come along OK. Not sure about mail since it was converted by Leopard - will it unconvert? Don't know.
I have read of some who tried to simply install Tiger over Leopard but the results were less than great. You can try it once you have that clone backup, because you won't be losing anything.
I would suggest unplugging the clone during the erase and install process until you get to the migration point.

I have a brand new Leopard based MacBook Pro that I need to revert to its previous cat form of Tiger. Would you mind walking me through it? I have Tiger disks that came with another MacBook Pro so those should have all of the machine specific items I will need. As I understand this, I start the computer from the included Leopard disk and do a full format. (I noticed that there is a new partition style named GUID Partition, is this Leopard only?) Next, I load in my Tiger disks and install from those? I do not need to do any system backups as I have no information on this computer as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Brian

  • How to uninstall pages 5 on iPad 2?

I still use pages 4 on my Mac, and have updated my iPad2 to iOS7 and spontenuously to pages 5 as well. Then, I can't read on my Mac a document in iCloud that was altered on my iPad with pages 5. Of course, to update my Mac to pages 5 would solve this, but I'd still like to use the features on pages4. Does anybody know how to uninstall pages 5 on iPad and revert back to pages4?

    Hi there,
is your app stuck in "loading status"? Or are you trying to cancel an ongoing loading process?
    if stuck:
Perform a reset of your ipad.
Hold down home-button and on/off-button together for about 10 seconds (Ipad will first show you it´s shut-off-screen, then will turn, then will show apple logo again <- that´s where you release).
After doing so my "faulty" app restored properly, I hav no more issues.
If in loading stage and you would like to cancel:
You will need to wait for loading and installation to complete.
Then press and hold down finger on any app. Apps start shaking and (if not proper to ipads iOS) will show a small circled "x" above left, press that "x", you will be asked if you really wish to delete, press ok. Done.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards
    Max

  • How Does One Update Lightroom to 4.3 if in this Creative Cloud Hell???

Trying to update to 4.3 from 4.1  -- Checked the application manager - no updates to 4.1.  Went through the program - update lightroom - downloaded 4.3 and it installed as a separate program without deleting 4.1.  Now it asks for a serial number.  Creative cloud members don't get serial numbers.
Here's my chat transcript with adobe's terrible, hellacious, moronic, and incompetent support person:
Ashish: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
Ashish: May I please have your email address registered with Adobe while I review your request?
      Laura: <Removed by Moderator>
Ashish: Thank you for the information. Please allow me a moment while I locate your account.
      Ashish:
Laura: I have re-installed the application manager, but the lightroom available for download on the list is once again Lightroom 4.1

Laura: In my account, there are no serial numbers.
Laura: to download and install programs, I must use the application manager (apparently)
      Ashish: Please allow me moment.
Laura: When I try to update Lightroom 4.1 to Lightroom 4.3, the program directs me to dowload lighroom 4.3
      Ashish: okay
Laura: When I installed Lightroom 4.3 it does not uninstall 4.1, but is does install as a separate program and then asks me for a serial #.
Ashish: You have install it directly you cant upgrade lightroom.
Laura: Ok, but when I do - it asks me for a serial number.
Laura: Adobe does not make serial numbers available to creative cloud members.
Laura: I am in my account searching and cannot find serial numbers anywhere.
      Ashish: Yes
Laura: So my question is - How is a member of creative cloud supposed to properly update applications.
      Laura: ????
      Laura: yes what?

Laura: THAT IS THE ONLY THING i WANT ANSWERED
Ashish: First when i have track your product states then i will give you answer You have to install it in your machine.
Laura: That sentance makes no sense.  Are normal updates through the application manager or will a serial number be provided?
Ashish: But you are facing problem so please contact after 24 hours.
Laura: IF you are having trouble with english, please transfer me to someone else.  You do not understand my questions.
Laura: THis is a simple question with a simple answer.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [email protected] at the end of your chat.
Ashish: I am understand everything but without checking of your product how could i answer your question.
Ashish: Yes, if you have normal product then serial is provided by us.
Ashish: And a serial number is a licensing key of the product.
Laura: I am a member of ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD, with access to all the programs.  HOW DOES A MEMBER OF CREATIVE CLOUD UPDATE PROGRAMS, and ARE SERIAL NUMBERS AVAILABLE to MEMBERS OF CREATIVE CLOUD?  WHERE IN MY ACCOUNT IS MY SERIAL NUMBER?

      Laura: Order: DSS---------------
Ashish: Thank you For give the information
Laura: All you need to tell me is how to PROPERLY UPDATE MY PROGRAM AND WHERE I CAN FIND A SERIAL NUMBER.
Ashish: Please allow me a moment.
Laura: You shouldn't need order info for this because the procedure should be the EXACT same for any customer with a creative cloud membership.
Ashish: I am checking your order states.
Ashish: Sorry, i need the order number without it i am not able to find anything for your product.
Ashish: Please allow me a moment.
Laura: I gave you my order number twice already.
Ashish: Yes, i have but i am answering your question.
Laura: My question is a matter of the proper way to update Lightroom in a creative cloud membership.  It is a stand alone question that should be answerable without any knowledge other than knowing how YOUR OWN PRODUCT operates. HOW DO I UPDATE LIGHTROOM 4.1 to LIGHTROOM 4.3???
Ashish: You have to adobe voice support for this issue.
Ashish: You have to contact 18008336687

Have you tried applying the update by going to Help>Updates within Photoshop Lightroom?  The update should be using the same licensing?  Did you perhaps customize the installation location?  Finally which operating system are you using?

when i try to open itunes on my macbook, it says it needs quicktime 7.5.5 to run. how do i update quicktime so i can run itunes?

    QuickTime 7.5.5 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL27
    QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/dl761
= New version of Quicktime installed but application reports it needs to have that version installed =
Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications.  One person had re-installed their operating system.  It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework files which many applications utilize.  Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.  Do this manually, not with Software Update.
Installation get stuck at "configuring installation" - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2592979?threadID=2592979  - uninstall Quicktime before installing.

Sometimes there are server issues and such. A reinstall is a bit drastic. Try http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows.

    How do i update safari?
About Safari says that it is version 5.0.2. However, software update thinks that it is a newer version. I uninstalled safari and reinstalled it using the system disc. I tried to reinstall it by downloading before using the disc but it says it has a newer version; this was before safari was installed. obviously it has an directory or index.
is there a way to remove the index and update safari?
Also, is there a better, more perment solution to deleting the file, 'com.apple.ImageCaptureNotifications.DeviceDiscoveryDatabase.501' from Mac HD/Library/Caches to solve the phatom iphone in iphoto?

    is there another way?
    Thank you for your time
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as Microsoft Office 2004.

  • How do i update Installed AIR Applications? // General Questions

    Hi,
first of all, i'm completly new to AIR. However, i made my way through your product documentation and i'm now able to deploy AIR and a AIR Application (SFDC Chatter) and register it.
Works fine so far, but some questions:
    - How can i update installed AIR applications? If i just try to re-install it, the installer will fail with exit code "9"
-> How can i update them directly? If this is not possible
-> How can i uninstall AIR applications in a large enterprise environment?
    - Where is the ARH Tool that is described in your product documentation?
    - When installing AIR as SYSTEM User (I'm using SCCM) where is the logfile?
    - Do you recommend updating AIR on a regular base? Are "older" applications compatible with newer AIR Versions?
    Thanks for your replies!
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
I'd recommend taking a good look at our captive runtime option that is available in AIR 3.0 and higher.  While you have to roll your own installer (and updater) this could be as simple as a zip/batch file combination.  It also allows you to use the runtime that you prefer and not be dependent on what the user installs or uninstalls.  You do have to be mindful of security implications, but it's definitely the way I'd go.

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f709e16db131e43659b9-8000.html
As for updating, it should be as simple as increasing your app descriptors version number and installing again.  This article explains how you can also use our update framework: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air_update_framework.html
The ARH tool can be found here:
