How to unistall maverick.

Hi,
after I've installed Maverick on my iMac 27 -late 2012, I have expirienced some problems and I've decided to take a step back to Mountain Lion but, even if the Apple support confirmed that I could re-install the previos OS via the CMD-ALT-R procedure, I wasn't able to do that because a HD different from the Machintosh HD is required. To make it short, since I've a unique driver (Machintosh HD) I can't re-install Mountain Lion on it because a more updated version is already installed.
Since the iMac has no optical driver and I don't own a digital copy of Mountain Lion , even if I've paid for it, how can I format it to factory setting?
Thanks a lot in advance for any kind of suggestion or support.

The only way to downgrade is to erase the hard drive and reinstall the older system. If you hold down command-option-R at startup, that should boot into internet recovery mode, and you will be able to reinstall the original version of Mac OS X that your Mac shipped with (once you have erased the hard drive, using Disk Utility).
Because this will be a bit of work, it's probably best to try to troubleshoot your issues with Mavericks, if possible. Most people are finding it to work pretty well. Most of those who are having problems have incompatible third-party software installed or a corrupt system. See Understanding upgrade nightmares.

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

What is wrong with this maverick OS?

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

  • How to unistall shapeshifter and application enhancer to get rid of bits of dock end

hi i have an 12 inch powerbook g4 2005 and i did run it on tiger and made the dock 3D using shapeshifter and application enhancher and when i tried to eject them after i got os x 10.5.8 but it doesn't show up on search but when i go on system prefernces it shows and can use it but i don't know how to unistall it
    please help

    Hello,
Double-click the "Install ShapeShifter" icon and click on the "Uninstall" button (the installer will move all ShapeShifter files to the Trash - it will never actually delete any files on your system).
Remove the file named "ShapeShifter.prefPane" from the Library/PreferencePanes folder in your home directory and the file "ShapeShifter.ape" from the Library/Application Enhancers folder in your home directory

If you have the Mountain Lion installer or can download a copy from your Purchases page in App Store then simply run the installer application. Before you install select your target drive. From the Utilities menu select Disk Utility. Repartition and reformat your drive. Quit Disk Utility and continue with the installation of Mountain Lion.
Be sure to backup first because the downgrade will erase all your files.

  • How do unistall programs from my macbook pro?

i just cant seem to find out how to unistall and remove programs from my macbook pro. any suggestions?

It depends upon how the application got there in the first place. Many applications can be uninstalled by simply dragging them from the Applications folder into the trash. (You may have to authenticate.).  Some applications come with their own uninstaller, usually in the Applications folder or in a folder in the Applications folder dedicated to the application in question.
If you have a dock icon left over, you can just drag it off of the dock.

  • How to make Mavericks faster on an "older" MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro, 2.2 GHz core i7 with 4 GB of RAM. I recently wiped my computer and restored to factory settings because it was getting slow, then I upgraded to Mavericks and it is even slower. It freezes often and takes a long time to load things. Is there any way to make it faster or improve it's function?

  • How to install Maverick on new HDD before replacing current Without Original OS X Disk

    Hello Community,
I am looking for some advice / help.
    I have a Mac mini Early 2009,
I want to replace 120GB Drive with a new larger drive, how do I setup Maverick on the new drive before swapping out.
I do not have my original OS X Disk,

Is there a way to install on new drive (Via external adapter) before replacing old hard drive?
I have relevance experience and tools to perform task,
I have upgrade the Memory to 6GB previously.
Are there any further upgrade that I can do to my Mac as it is a great little machine and do not currently have funds to purchase one of the new beauties

  • How to download maverick?

I need to update one of my computers to instal Pages... I really DON'T want Yosemite (not only it's super ugly but i've read way to much bad stuff about this system). My other computer is on Maverick and is working fine. I want to update the second one but can't find how to download it.
Right now the computer is on 10.7.3

Have you ever downloaded Mavericks? If so, then as long as you are using 10.7.3 you can upgrade to Mavericks on the App Store.

  • How to uninstall maverick back to mountain lion?

I have instaled maverick but have found that it does not support some programs so wish to revert back to mountin lion.  Is this possible and if it is can you give me a very basic explenation of how to do so.
    Many thanks

Another option too for those (kind of like me) who never did the time machine.
I just restored my computer back to Mountain Lion, and she's working perfect again, as I knew she would. E-mail popping into mailbox instantly as it should and did before the update, printer working fast as it was before update, no more freezing or glitches of any kind thankfully and finally. Here is the link that is through the Apple site to direct you on how to put your system back and get rid of Maverick's, that is assuming that is what you would like to do and also includes link for those wanting to try fixing the issue if that is your preference (most of this info is for those with mountain lion and some with the previousverisoin of OS X lion).
If you want to keep Maverick's here is a good post on the apple discussion board to help you out:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6161
If you just want to totally get rid of it and put back what you had before, this is the short version of how to do so:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3353
NOTE: This particular link has a lot of info on what to do for different situations, it is a bit lengthy, yet still very helpful.

OS X: About OS X Recovery (also from apple support directly and includes some instructions just the same as previous links above):

Just in case you aren't sure what it will all look like as you are doing things, this is a link to show you a few pics of what you will see  as you as you are going through the process, it can be helpful for those who aren't sure what they are doing or how to do things at all:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/
This is a way to download the Mountain Lion disk info from the server
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433
I hope this helps someone, it was amazing for me and my system is working perfect again like it was, battery life is way better went from like 3 hours to like 5 (not on full charge by the way, after it sat for a while doing the online update which took a while so that's saying something alone, huge improvement). I plan to wait a while before attempting to reinstall Maverick's, long enough for them to fix the bugs.

  • How to uninstall maverick

how do i uninstall mavericks on G5

Totally agree.  I work around the clock and had a PhD review and (as a full time worker) film footage to finish for the weekend i.e. 48 hours after the 'Update' landed.
Update appears, let it run in the background, no clue that necessary programs will cease working,  bibliographies and references with crash and disappear, iMovie UI will change so dramatically you won't know what you're doing until you've had time to re-learn it.
Absolute car crash.  As for all the 'just rewind' well may some of us don't expect our update to basically wipe out perfectly happy OS and accumalited programs, jobs in progress WITHOUT A BIG FAT WARNING SCREEN and neither do we have time or energy for uninstalling updates.
Come one Apple, are you for real?  You are rapidly losing shed loads of punters to Microsoft.  Yup, thats how bad things are getting out here.
