How to unjam my ipad? I cannot receive but can send so have to use main pc to receive

I sent many photos to friends yesterday morning suddenly I noticed that I no longer receive mail into my inbox and the sent box was also frozen to that point. I can however still send more photos but had to go to my PC to receive my emails as I c.c. myself into all the emails I sent. Is the ipad jammed because I sent too many phtos at one time?

You're funny, but also on my website and I do not bother you, who are you?

• ICloud Alias Cannot Recieve but can Send Emails

My [email protected] E-mail address can send but not receive E-mails. If I send an E-mail from iCloud it uses the [email protected] address as the sender but if someone replies to this E-mail the reply fails as an unknown alias. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Hi,
Im assuming that you have a hotmail plus account which allows you to get access to your mail via pop?
If so, then on your iphone you need to go into settings/mail/yourhotmail/SMTP/primary server/ and ensure the password box in there is populated. This should then allow you to send mail.

• Mail: can't receive but can send / really strange!

hello
I've configured mail preferences and also talked with my server about the info related, but they wont help :s
I can't receive any mail, but the strange thing it's that I do can send. I believe there's something wrong about the Incoming mail server info. Maybe someone can tell me what's the format of the info I need, so i can check with my server settings.
thanks a lot,
L.

• Cannot Receive But Can Send Emails on Mac Mail

Hi guys, all of a sudden, I stopped receiving emails when I'm at work. Sending is fine. It wasn't like this a few weeks ago. Any advice? Thanks!

While I should warn that it's probably something to do with your mailbox store, to answer your question:
Under Mail/Preferences…/Accounts tab you'll see incoming and outgoing mail server names. Sometimes those names point at physical hardware instead of aliases given to you by a name server. Think of the mail service not as a computer but as a virtual entity that can be pointed to anywhere, even if temporarily. If the server hardware changes a hard-coded server name won't follow the service it if it's not pointing at an alias.
I thought of this because you only lost incoming, not outgoing, a typical scenario for admins swapping server hardware as some don't distinguish between virtual services and hardware, you know, pointing the finger at the box and saying "that's the mail server", when the service and storage could actually be aliased to any equipment that's available. A good setup will point to an alias from day one, so that admins have future flexibility to evolve without interruption just by maintaining an accurate DNS.
Sorry if I've led you down the wrong path. Stalling a mailbox rebuild sounds like a different kind of problem.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

It may be due to Continuity

• My o2 email will receive, but not send on my ipad

My o2 email will receive, but not send. I've got other email accounts on the ipad & they all work OK. The o2 mail account used to work properly, but I needed to remove the account & since I've put it back on, it won't work on my ipad. Works ok on android mobile phone. I've checked the settings & spoken to o2, but they couldn't solve! It may be since I've joined the cloud? Any advice, gratefully received. Thanks.

Recheck the settings once again. There is something wrong. And it seems to happen to O2 people with some regularity. Google o2 mail settings and you will get a page with the details. Pay close attention to the port setting, you may need to change it on the pad, and that may be the problem.

The Apple solution is to register for and use separate Apple ID's on both devices and Apple software:
Purchase FaceTime from the Apple Mac App store. (US$0.99 for Version 1.1 last time I checked).
The US iPad 2 already includes the FaceTime App.
I've read that Skype also works with a Skype app for the iPad, but I have not tried it.

• 5th gen ipod can receive but not send emails

5th gen ipod can receive but not send emails. I have iPad with same settings and no issues. Yet, I keep getting "cannot send mail" the user name or password for "[email protected]" is incorrect. Please assist. I am not running both accounts simultaneously

See:
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
Did it work before?
I suspect a error in the settings for the outgoing mail server.

One I had done this I was able to send from my main email and other email adddresses set up under my account."
Superb advice R&W! My email sending block using TalkTalk started 2 months ago using Snow Leopard, continued when I upgraded to 10.8.2, and has been persistent on my wife's new iPad (IOS 6.1). Implementing your wise words has fixed all that, and now enables me to call her on FaceTime — previously only she could call me. Thank you so much; this will save hours of further fruitless searching and phoning.
Please remember that your email is now insecure, if you wish to have a secure connection SSL must be on and port 25 should be avoided.
