Hey guys
I have bought an Iphone4 from new zealand. All the phones brought from New Zealand are UNLOCKED. But then I had to get my phone replaced (from apple Australia) because my home button was not working well. It was all good till here, because i got a new iphone! but..when i brought this phone to South Korea to use, i was able to turn on the phone but wasnt able to use it because phone had the carrier lock!
Apple should not have sent me the phone that has the carrier lock! don't everyone agree?
I came Korea to find a job but my mobile is not working, what should i do?
Does anyone know how to unlock? or do you know what would apple do in this kind of situation?
I have rang apple korea, vodafone nz, bright point nz and australia from yesterday till today, and I am losing my patients and costing me fortunes to ring overseas!

If you have iOS 5 on there, there is no way to unlock it. I suggest calling Apple Customer Relations and explain the situation to them. Maybe they will give you an unlocked one.

No matter what kind of unlocking you mean you cannot do it without a computer.
Carrier unlock can only be done by the carrier it is locked to.

If your damaged iPhone was unlocked by O2 correctly then return to the Apple Store they should have provided an unlocked replacement .
However if you used another method to unlock, then Apple see the damaged iPhone as locked and correctly replaced it with another locked iPhone
