You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery mode if necessary to allow the restore.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

You have to restore and thus erase your iPod. that is how it works.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • I dropped my iPod touch 4 generation on my kitchen tile and it shattered, like chunks of the screen are coming off. But everything works and I've had it for a 1 ½ years now. I don't have the extended warranty or anything but can I get it replaced somehow

I dropped my iPod touch 4 generation on my kitchen tile and it shattered, like chunks of the screen are coming off. But everything works and I’ve had it for a 1 ½ years now. I don’t have the extended warranty or anything but can I get it replaced somehow? if anyone knows anything please let me know. thank you!

Depending on the extent of the damage, Apple may replace the iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to repair the iPod for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty will be void.

  • How do I unlock my ipod touch that shows a red disabled screen, and not been able to connect to the original computer it was sync to?

How do I unlock my ipod touch showing a red ipod disabled connect to itunes, with the disadvantage of not having the original computer that my ipod was sync to?

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, you'll need to restore the iPod. Since you don't have the original computer, this will erase all the content on the iPod. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

  • How do I restore my old iPhone4 when I forgot my password and iCloud is still on?

    Hello Everybody.
Recently I found my old iPhone 4 that i haven't used in quite a while. I locked the phone initially so that my sister would not find any of my old text messages and then left it in one of my drawers for a while. After I found it again the other day, I decided to reuse it since I am going to a concert on the 29th of this month and want to use it to take photos and videos. I plugged it in the charger and waited until it was 100%, and then plugged it into iTunes. I realised I forgot my password for the phone, which was fine as I wanted to erase all of my old content. When I clicked restore on iTunes it said that Find My iPhone was still on for my phone and that I had to go on iCloud to turn it off. Of course this was no problem until I found out I had a different account than I did 2 years ago, as I forgot my password and made a new account. Obviously you can tell I don't have a very good memory.
I would like to know how to restore my iPhone before the concert so I can use it. I have a feeling my phone will run out of battery and I want to be sure I can take as many photos and videos as I can. If anybody could help that would be great
    Corrina.

Click here, or contact Apple’s Account Security team, or if you're the device’s original owner, take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.
