Find myself overseas (Europe) and guess what...... Forgot to unlock the phone.Have just read about unlocking, how to get the MEI number etc. etc. BUTTo do THAT you have to be in a service area. Telstra is NOT in the Netherlands. So, spent a lot of money getting a Telstra bundle which INCLUDES access to the FON network, apparently tens of millions of WiFi hotspots all over the world. This then allows me to use my home internet allowance.I have sofar been to 3 Telco shops here to see how I might still be able to so without the FON app on my phone but the trouble is: No one here seems to have heard of this FON network????? So yes, my own stupid fault not unlocking my phone (But I would have bought a second el cheapo handset rather than give Telstra MORE money AGAIN) but have I once again been conned by another Telstra ""almost true"statement regarding these wifi spots???? And is it really impossible to unlock my phone from here???

You can call Telstra from overseas via +61 4 39125109 or +61 2 9396 1193. They can then put you through to the prepaid unlocking team who will walk you through the process involved, and possible costs, to unlock your phone.

I currently have internet at 6/320 Manly Road Manly West Qld, but have recently moved, so need to know what my options are on moving the service to my new address.
I tried Wi-Fi from the main house at the new address, as I live in the unit in the back yard, but even with an 'extender' which we purchased today, there is minimal WI-FI.
Is it possible to get a moveable modem so that I can take it anywhere, and have this instead of my current service, I don't need a home phone, what are my options?

I have tried going to the program it self but no where can i find how to uninstal it . I,m getting very frustrated with this C.P as at least with windows you went straight to the control panel and went to ADD/Remove, and clicked onto the program you wanted gone and clicked on it and it uninstaled . GRRR

I assume that the app didn't come with an uninstaller application/script?
If you definitely want to trash it have a look in Activity Monitor and your Login items, as there may be something running in the background that is preventing it being trashed.
System Preferences>Users & Groups (or Accounts depending on OS), Login items tab and delete anything that pertains to the app you want gone.
Next, Utilities Folder>Activity Monitor, have a look to see if there is anything running with the name of the awkward app. Select it and click on the the big red 'quit process' button. Now try and trash it.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Telstra pre-paid mobile broadband

Has anyboby managed to setup up a Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband Turbo on OSX Lion 10.7.1.
The dongle works fine on my WIndows machine so no issues with activation of the sim or account balancwe etc.
I've downloaded and installed the latest version of the software from the Telstra web-site but still no luck. The software installs, but will not connect to the 3G network.

Can I just say that this is a great way around those evil hotels that I am forced to use by my employer ... hotels that have a $25 to $35 charge for 24 hours of data delivered by WiFi or LAN cable to one's hotel room. In the last three years with my previous iPhone 4S and now the 6+, I have been able very simply to tether my laptop (Apple MacBook Pro 15") or tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8") to the data allowance on my phone and use the internet without the hotel's massive UNFAIR charges.
