How to unregister an ipod

I now own an iPad and would like to give my iPod to a friend how do I unregister it so she can register it under her name.

On the iPod go to Settings>Generl>Reset>Erase all content and settiings.
To register try try:
Register an Apple Product
However, it make no difference.  Any warranty is transfered with the hardware with not need to reregester.

  • Unregister an iPod from my account

I received two iPod Nanos for x-mas. They are exactly the sae except one is 8GB and the second one I got is 16GB. I got one at least a week before the other and had already registered it to my account. Now I want to take it off so I can give it to someone else. How do I do that? Right now it seems that both of them are registered to my account. I don't want the person I'm giving it to, to not be able to register it on her account because its already on mine.

Just go ahead and give it to them. There's no way to "unregister" an iPod, really....you could restore it to factory settings, if you like.

You can have an unlimited number of devices that you own or control for private use tied to one iTunes account. But you have only have five tied to one iCloud account.

  • How Do I transfer ipod library over to new itunes library

I recently got a new computer so i lost everyting in the transfer.  I have windows 8 and I am trying to move all the songs from my Ipod to my new library.  When I go into the music tab on itunes it says it will delete everything on the Ipod and replace it with the few songs in the new library.  It still shows me the songs on my ipod in the "on this ipod" tab but I dont know how to sync it

The ipod is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You may be able to purchase a third party program to get the music - not supported by Apple.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Us eyour backup copy to move everything to the new computer.

  • How do i use iPod and Nano with external HD?

I just bought a Nano and i already owned an iPod. I have my iTunes library stored on an external LaCie drive. I've figured out how to sync the iPod to the drive, but can't figure out how to get my music onto the Nano. Can't find any kind of help in the manuals. . ..
I also can't figure out how to manage my music on the external drive. So i can't create playlists or do anything except in the Finder window. Should i install iTunes on the drive??
Can someone please take me through it step by step. I would also like to know how to keep a separate window for the iPod and the Nano.
    thank you for your help.

    Hi Cat,
From the first part of your post I get that you have iTunes working on your computer and you have your songs on an external drive. But do the songs from that external drive show up in iTunes? If you type apple-I (get info) on a song and look at the summary, does it list the external drive as the location of the songs? If so, I'm not sure why you can't manage your songs. Let me guess that your iTunes doesn't show the external drive at all.
If iTunes doesn't show the music from the external drive, then you should go to iTunes preferences advanced and uncheck Keep Organized and Copy files. Change the Music Location to the folder on your external drive. Then go to the folder on the external drive and drag that into iTunes so that it can catalog the files. You should then see all the song files in iTunes and you should be able to mess with playlists and such.
Now, plug in the Nano and set it to Manually update in Preferences. The Nano should show up in the Source column on the left. Grab the songs your want from your library and drag them to the Nano.
It could be too much or too little, or just the wrong stuff. But I hope this works for your situation...

I have iTunes on my iPad. I have a new iPod nano. How do I connect iPod to iPad to download iTunes and music library?

    Hi Divine Inspiration,
You wouldn't connect the iPod to the iPad for data transfers. Music is stored and shared either through a computer or iCloud.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Help wanted - step by step process on how to use two ipods on one computer

I'm just in the process of getting an ipod (waiting on delivery!) and want to know how it is possible to have two ipods using the same computer but synchronizing differently. I don't want to risk losing my partners music (he'll be very upset!) and I don't want to end up with his music on my ipod. I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a step by step guide or tell me where the best place to look for the answer is. Is it possible somehow to have two different libraries on one computer? Is that how it works?

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two as Chris has already described above is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look anyway and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

There is no limit to how many iPods can run on a single PC. Or how many PCs a single iPod can connect to. Either by Apple design or by any legal issues.

  • How do I find iPod's MAC and the encryption level used to login?

I have a wireless network with WEP security Wireless Encryption Level 128 bit and also Wireless Network Access activated.
I need to add the MAC of the iPod. How do you get the iPod's MAC?
Also how do I know iPod is using 128 bits instead 64bits in the encryption level?
    Does anybody know this?
I cannot connect to the network I disabled the Wireless Network Access and still cannot login, the password is correct and I am thinking that the iPod is using 64 bit with WEP which is totally useless when you have a network already configured.
    I will appreciate your help.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You'll find the +iPod touch's+ MAC address in Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address.
The +iPod touch+ will use 128/40bit WEP depending on what you have the router set to.
Are you entering the password in the correct case? You may need to put $ infront of your password.

Set up the second exactly the same way as you set up the first. If iTunes is already installed, it doesn't need to be installed again.
