How to update Adobe InDesign while being offline ?

hello again....
actually I know to update it, and I already downloaded the specified patch files required, but when ever I try to run the updater I get a message telling me ( " welcome,. there is a new patch available for your software, click next to update Adone InDesign CS3 with this patch" and then I click next, and after the updater gets in progress saying: "installing the patch... updating" I get a message that says: "installation was unsuccessful, the updater is unable to locate the product to be updated" though I tried several ways to install it, one of which tried to reformat my HDD and reinstall Windows again and then run the updater immediately one I have installed InDesign CS3 ME, ( on its trial basis even) or even after activation, but still in vain, so I thought that there is a another patch file for x64 platforms ??? or something wrong I have been doing without noticing it ??
I really need to update it this way, because the PC InDesign CS3 ME installed connects to the internet though a dial-up connection, so it will be really hard to update it live.
the patch file I was trying to install is named as : "indesign_5_0_4"
so any help with this please guys ???

it just occurred to me to surf Winsoft-International.com, and I searched for product updates, and found that the update patch for InDesign CS3 Me is different from the patch file I have when it comes to the size, and when I tried to download the patch file, they just asked for some details that which version of InDesign CS3 I use ? ( ME, Hebrew, North-African) which means that every version has its special update patch, and hence, I will download the update patch and try it, hoping that it really updates my InDesign CS3 ME.
so it just occurred to me to mention this, that some other members can avail this, in case some other one have the ME versions as well.

First, see Replace Your Preferences and do it for the original account.

I believe the solution may be to downdate Windows 7 to have XP running as a Virtual Machine, then run 10 in that.

Answer would be no unless application provided such feature. Numbers does not as far as I know.
Note that even if you have complete list of formulae used in a table, identifying formulae referencing any given cell is not simple.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if there is a way to update Adobe Reader while people are using it. I know that Flash Player can be updated while Internet Explorer or Firefox are used by users. Then flash player updates itsell when the browser is closed.
So is there an install switch or a way to install Adobe Reader updates while people are using it like Flash Player ?

If you swith Adobe Reader to automatic updates, it will intelligently try to update when user is not using the product for a few (I think 3) days. If it can't find an appropriate time, it will update and aks the user to reboot.

We use Adobe PDF to create PDFs on a hardened stand alone network using Windows Server 2008. Can we install or update Adobe Acrobat on a system that is always offline?

I was trying to do this as well so really helpfull. Can someone tell me how to deactivate the version on the old computer?

I'm trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9.0 to the latest revision Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5. I downloaded each of the updates, but I keep getting a reminder that normal windows update does not apply. I downloaded the files and normally would then click on each update to update the preceding revision in order. However, it appears this is not the way for these revisions. How do I update the Adobe Acrobat 9.0?

Normally you would either use Help>Updates in Acrobat, though a lot of us do use the manual updates, particularly if the Help route fails. Since you have 9.0, you have about 13 updates to do as I recall. I would download them from the top down as each download indicates the previous version that is needed for applying the update. There are actually AA9 updates, but several can be skipped. Also, you generally do not have to reboot until you finish with the last update. You might want to start with the 9.0 update that I think just adds some options. Then from the updates page you would install 9.1, 9.1.1, 9.1.2, 9.1.3, 9.2, etc. If you have downloaded from the top down, you will know which ones you can skip. Is that what you were asking about?

How to run Adobe InDesign CC without needing Domain Admin privileges?

Adobe InDesign CC needed Admin privileges to install which is fine but it seems to need the same just to start-up and run the program.
I've given the user Local Admin but that didn't fix it. I don't want to have to 'Run as Administrator' every time they want to use the software, does anyone have any ideas for sorting this?

Without proper system info and other details nobody can even begin to guess. Chances are that your network configuration is to blame and due to using specific ports that are also used by the activation system they are somehow tied together. Well, whatever. This is most definitely nothing that can be solved from within the Adobe programs themselves. Run a network monitor, find out what's wrong and fix it accordingly.

I'm using the Creative Cloud. I have installed the Programms i need on my iMac 3.1 Ghz Inter Core i5 with 8 GB Ram and Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
After the Download, i've tried to update Indesign, because i have to work with the Folio Builder Panel. But the "Updates" in the Menu "Help" is not activated (it's gray).
Then i downloaded the update from www.adobe.com/de/downloads/updates, tried to install, the Adobe Application Manager was started and i get the error "Update failed". (See the picture)
Can you help me to activate the "Updates" in the Menu "Help" or do you know, how i can update?

Now we have found the problem.
In the folder: Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0
i had to edit the file "AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat" (make a copy before editing...)
between <Suppressed> </Suppressed> was a "1", now i changed it to a "3"
the new text is now:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<Preferences>
<Suppressed>3</Suppressed>
</Preferences>
