How to update BB Desktop Manager

General
BB Desktop Manager v 4.5.0.15 (May 30 2008)
Components
Device Communication
Blackberry Device Manager             4.3.1.10
BBDevMgr                                   4.0.1.3
RIM USB Driver                             4.0.0.2
RIM USB Serial Driver                     2.1.0.4
Application Loader
Application Loader                        4.3.1.18
RIMProgram                                 1.0.0.35
Device Software
v4.0.2.37(Platform 1.4.0.48) for the Blackiberry 7520 Wireless Handheld
v4.1.0.376(Platform 2.1.0.46) for the Blackberry 7100i Series Wireless Devices
Sorry if to much information. I have downloaded and installed v4.5 of the BB Desktop Manager on my PC. When I go into Application loader to load a new application I noticed that all the applications listed as well as the BB System Software and the BB Core Applications had an action of Downgrade listed and the version was earlier than what was already loaded on my BB. If I uncheck the box beside the Application name it changes the action Downgrade to Remove. Well I do not want want to Downgrade or Remove. If I click on the "Check for updates" link it just takes me to the page where I downloaded v4.5 in the first place.
What I really want to accomplish is just load this new application on the BB without changing what is already there. But, if there is a way to upgrade the version of applications contained in the BB Desktop Manager that would be nice to.
On another note - how do you insert screen shots into a msg such as this?? I tried the Paste from Word but that did not work for whatever reason....

In order to post a picture, you will first have to host it online at any one of the many free or paying hosting sites across the web. Photobucket is a good example. Then you can either post the picture as a link (suggested) or as a picture to be displayed. Either of those two can be done by clicking one of the two buttons in the posting menu above your message box when you are typing a response or new thread. The "Insert/edit link" button looks like a simple, silver chain link. The "Insert/edit image" looks like a tree with a blue background. Good luck.

  • How to update FSCM Credit Management through SD in R3.

    Hi,
        I have a follwowing requirement.
When SD documents such as Sales orders, Delivery Documents, Billing Documents are created, the commitment of that new transaction goes through the same PI interface to update FSCM Credit Management.
I guess, SAP has already provided standard interfaces in PI for this. Please let know how can I trigger those interface through SD transactions like VA01, VL01N.
    Thanks in advance.
    Punit

    Punit,
I know about Tcode ukm_bp to check credit eligibility of business partner. Likewise there can be different T codes. Please post in respective FSCM forum with details requirement to get more info on that...
Coming to developement, you could use SAP pre defined content from SAP FINBASIS and APPL and develop scenarios.
If your ERP and FSCM are on the same box, use the same business systems else use seperate one for each.
    Venkat.

  • How to change BB desktop manager language ?

I downloaded BB desktop manager many times. Each time I download only ARABIC language is being installed. I tried downloading the ENGLISH version also. But STILL I have the same trouble. I read your post regarding this but I couldn't get any right solution for this. Please if anyone knows the correct step by step procedure for changing the language or any other solutions it would be really thankful.

  • Software update via desktop manager failed, phone will not boot

I used the Desktop Software (I had to update this first to version 6.00.43; anyway, that's what the Rim.Desktop.exe file properties in Windows Explorer says it is) to update my Curve 8900 's software. It went through the first two steps of downloading and installing; then just sat there stuck on the reboot step -- no kind of error message, just stuck, with phone displaying the AT&T sign on screen for probably a good chunk of lat night (started doing this a little before bed) and all through the day today. Only removing the battery will shut off the phone; once restarted, the white progress bar fills up over a number of minutes and goes back to the AT& screen again; hangup button will not shut the phone down. If I reconnect the USB and the Desktop Software is still running, status message continues to say "disconnected"; if I first connect the USB and then start the software, get a "connecting..." status message but it never connects. Windows 7 "Safely Remove Hardware" list does not display it.
    Any way to fix this?
    Bard55

    Close Desktop Manager.
    Then do this:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
Then follow the instructions exactly in the first post of this thread to install the OS listed there.:
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8900-series-discussion-javelin/227412-os-8900-v5-0-0-1168-5-...
Once you have that done, then you can use Desktop manager to restore the backup file that the original update should have made.

    Hello wvusuperfan,
Open the Desktop Software, select the Tools menu and go to General tab and make sure the "Start BlackBerry Desktop Software when a device is connected" options is unchecked.
Press OK  and close the application.

  • Application updates on Desktop Manager 4.7 - required / then not required

I recently upgraded to Desktop manager 4.7. Following this update when I first synced my Bold it upgraded the applications on the device and restored etc no problems.
Now, everytime I sync I get a message that application updates are available, listing various updates, I then select update now, but after checking the device desktopn manager reports "no software update required".
This happens everytime I sync and is startying to get annoying.
    Any ideas?

Did you ever receive a response to your question? I'm having the same problem and it's frustrating. Anyone know why this is happening?

  • Desktop Manager Updated to ver. 5.0 - why is Device Manager tray icon "exit" greyed out?

Just updated to Desktop Manager 5.0
    Blackberry Device Manager 4.7.1.11
    BBDevMgr 4.1.0.11
    Rim USB Driver 4.1.0.4
    Rim USB Serial Driver 2.2.0.3
Before with previous version Device Manager tray icon would go away after disconnecting BB.
Now Device Manager tray icon does not go away after disconnecting BB and when right-clicking on it "exit" is greyed out - what's up with that? Is this by design? Why can't I get rid of the tray icon when disconnected?

Here's something bizarre. I have also been syncing contacts, calendars and tasks for a long time with my Storm. After downloading the Desktop 7.0 I also saw the Calendar as not available. I don't particularly remember seeing Memo as an option but I also selected it this time around as I was going through the old reload the os, restore, etc. Anyway I did a test adding an appointment to my Outlook calendar then ran the sync for contacts, tasks and memos and amazingly it shows on my Storm's calendar. Not sure how comfortable I am in depending on this but you might try and place an appointment on Outlook's calendar, run the sync and see if it shows up on your cell's calendar. Strange but it is working for me.

  • Desktop Manager generates 0x00000043 fatal error

I was directed to upgrade the latest version of Desktop manager (5.1.0.28).
When loading the Desktop manager and updating my programs the process of updating works smoothly if I only select the application I want to update (example GOTag).
When I select to update to the latest System software (4.6.1.313) and Core Applications then during the process of updating when Desktop Manager displays that it is "load jvm and system software".
Device Manager then generates and "Error" message:
"A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.
this system software is not designed for the connected device[A:0x00000043]"
    The device is a Sprint/nextel 8350i.
Can I get around this error or should I just not update the BB System Software?
    Any help is appreciated.

I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:

Hopefully that will get things going again.
