How to update CFBundleVersion for iOS?

How do you update the CFBundleVersion number in Flash Builder for iOS app distributions? Is there no way to do this?

Answering my own question in case anyone else has this issue.
If you update the <versionNumber> in your app.XML file, it has an effect on CFBundleVersion.
In my case, my <versionNumber> was 0.0.554. This caused the CFBundleVersion to be automatically set to 0.0.99 and I didn't know how to manually change the CFBundleVersion.
By changing <versionNumber> to 0.1.554, this caused the CFBundleVersion to be automatically set to 0.1.99. This change finally allowed me to update my iOS app.

Seems to be a real issue. Here's to hoping Apple will address this issue sooner rather than later.

Possible to create local "update server" for iOS and apps?

I use the software update server in OSX Server to locally cache updates, which speeds them up dramatically.
Unfortunately, the app store is still fairly slow.
Does anyone know if Apple has implemented the same sort of caching or update server for iOS devices? I think I read that there's a semi-transparent cache if you have an AirPort Extreme in your path to the Internet, but I don't and really couldn't even if I wanted to...

If apple would get thier crap together it is supposed to be there already. It is really ******* me off that there little to no effort from apple to get all of this working PRE OS release. Had this worked properly before the OS update schools across the country would probably not been brought to thier knees. I ended up having to block the entier apple domain to keep District Office online.

Which way are you trying to update - iTunes or WiFi in the iPad settings? Try switching from one method to the other method. If you don't have a computer and need to use WiFi, try closing all apps and then reboot your iPad and try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of all of the apps in the recents tray. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar when you are done.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
It wouldn't hurt to reboot your router either by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, let it fully start up and then try to update again.

I have the original iPad and can't figure out how to update IOS 5 or any others.

A first gen iPad can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1 (you can only update a device to the highest iOS version that it supports).
If it's already on iOS 5 then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on it for direct update on the iPad, if it's on iOS 4 or below then you can only update via your computer's iTunes.
To update via a computer, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad via File > Devices > Back Up
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
