How to update from ios 3.1.3 to ios 4.0?

How can I update my ipod touch 2g from ios 3.1.3 to 4.0?

Plug your device into your computer and connect it to iTunes, here it should alert you that a update is available. Go through the prompts it asks you for updating.

I need to update my software from 5.1.1 to the 6.0 version then the system can then update to a 7.0 automatically.

If you have an iPad 2 or newer, go to Settings - General - Software Update.
If you have an iPad 1 you can not upgrade beyond 5.1.1.

  • How to update from "iOS 5 beta" to "iOS 5 Official"? iTunes still say iOS 5 is the most recent version.

Do I have to roll back to 4.3.5? Or there is a better way to do it directly without rolling back.
    Any clues?

    Hello,
Tipsneeded.com have just uploaded the iOS 5 final version to be directly downloaded.
    1. Go to http://tipsneeded.com/download-ios-5-ipsw-files-direct-links/
    2. Download the file based on your device
    3. Place the downloaded file on your desktop
    4. Run your iTunes and Backup your iPhone
    5. (Options+Click on Restore), select the downloaded file, and begin upgrading.
    Thank you.

Make a cloned backup of your current system should you want to go back or if the upgrade isn't successful.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

How to downgrade from iOS 8.3 back to iOS 8.2?

A handful of people scream about every update that is ever put out. It is the nature of technology and blame. Perhaps try addressing your issue instead of blaming yet another update. you would never had of installed 8.2 if you took these forums as any true representation of iOS users.

  • How to downgrade from iOS 8.1.1 to ios 7.1.2

How to downgrade from iOS 8.1.1 to ios 7.1.2

I think the best iOS version for iPad mini 1st gen was 7.1.2.
I use my iPad with music production software and still it was on 7.1.2 I got no problems, but now I'm in trouble using AudioBus for memory problems when I record to a DAW. Synth softwares are laggy, many crack here and there, like it has no more power to reproduce all the voices I need.
Really the only way is the jailbreak? 8.1.1 is not optimized for older devices: the update had to be not released through iTunes.
    Bye.

    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
Otherwise connect to yor computer and update via iTunes. Yo need iTunes 10 or later on the computer.
To more easily find compatilbe apps for 4.2.1

  • Update from IOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.5

How do i update an iPhone 4 with IOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.5?  Every time i connect it to iTunes (Windows 7 laptop), 2-3mins before finishing to 2 hour download, the screen will freeze and a window will pop out saying "cannot download software, timed out".  I tried this on 5 occasions but always got the same response.
Can anyone help me find the solution to this?  Appreciate your help. Thanks.

I got it. IOS 4.3.5 does not update on a Windows PC with a Windows 7 Starter version.  I tried connecting the iPhone to a Windows PC with Vista and didn't have any problem updating from IOS 4.2.1. to 4.3.5.
Just thought you want to know.
    Thanks.
