How to update software without wifi?

I want to update my ipad , i want to use ios 7.1 ?
Pls help me how to update without wifi ?
How to update with cellular 3G connection ?

You cannot upgrade to iOS 7 via a cell connection. The upgrade is far too large. If you can't use Wi-Fi, you'll need to upgrade via iTunes on your computer. See the section titled "Update your device using iTunes" in this support article:

    Hi Parmkshinde,
Here's why you should use Wifi to do a wireless software update:
While you'd be able to download an update over 3G/4G, the updates are so big that you'll be waiting a really long time (also, you'll eat up a ton of your monthly wireless data), so Wi-Fi is much easier here. You should also make sure you've got plenty of battery life. The download and installation process can take some time, so if you've got less then 50% battery, you may want to plug in to a power source.
    Hope this answers your question!
    Cheers,

How to update software on multiple iPhones using same iTunes account?

Here are more details on my situation which should help clarify things...
I purchased three iPhone 4 models back when they first came out (for my family) that all share the same iTunes account for access to apps and music, but each phone/user still has his/her custom contact list, email accts, and select lists of apps and music from the one iTunes acct library.  The problem is (as I understand it) that I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct without wiping out the separate contact lists, etc. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates and still be able to manage separate contact lists, etc. If I go this route, I assume we will lose all the apps on phones #2 and #3 that we have been "sharing"... correct? Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. Hopefully, one of you can help me??
we have 2 iphone 4's synced to the same itunes account for apps and music since the day we bought them, but each has a different icloud acct. they have both been updated on the same itunes account with every update that has come out since we bought them in december of 2010. nothing on either phone has ever been lost or duplicated. having said all that, maybe i'm missing something here, but we have had no problems. we do have itunes setup to sync manually. i do believe i'm a piker compared to lawrence finch, but i'm just telling you what happens in my house. maybe check with apple? is there a store near you?

  • HT4623 I do not how to update software to my iphone4 on itune? Can you tell me the procedure?

how to update software to my iphone 4 from itune?

On iTunes 11, connect the phone via its USB cable, start iTunes if it doesn't start up automatically, select the phone on the list, go to Summary and Check for Updates.
    Directly on the phone:
The iOS operating system, go to Settings / General / Software Update and wait till it checks for available updates
For the apps, go to the App Store and click on Updates.
Unless you  have a blazing fast Internet service and unlimited downloads, it is better and faster if the phone can connect thru Wi-Fi.

how to update software from 10.5 to 10.7?

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, and phone them and order a download code for Mac OS X 10.7. Mac OS X 10.7 requires a Mac with a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU and at least 2GB of RAM.

  • HT1444 I have a Mac OSX Version 10.4.11 and i want to know how to update software. Also i have Itunes 8.2 how do i update that?

I have a Mac OSX Version 10.4.11 and i want to know how to update software are i have itunes 8.2 i want to know how to update that as well

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.
You should now see the App Store icon, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

Hi, I need help on how to update software for my ipad1, can someone help me?

The iPad 1 can not be upgraded beyond 5.1.1. If you haven't upgraded to iOS 5.1.1, see the info below.
If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Also read the instructions from the section entitled "Update your device using iTunes" at the link below.

  • Can't update software without credit card info

Geek Squad set up my new Apple ID on my laptop when they did a file transfer.  I wasn't given the ID or password, but it says I am logged in.  However, when I click on software updates it wants me to confirm my Apple ID and enter my credit card information.  Is there a way to update software without using my credit card?  Software updates worked fine on my old macbook pro and did not require this information.

Yes - set Payment type to None.

how to use facetime without wifi ?

A "solution" has already been posted - use Skype.
As far as FaceTime, no one here would know - we are not Apple or the cell carriers.  Since Apple has stated they are interested in expanding FaceTime, it's the carriers who are holding it back.  Contact your carrier, preferably with an entitled and demanding attitude.

Only if your iPhone is 4S and your carrier supports it.

  • Updating software without admin rights?

a few months ago, my mac was assimilated into a Windows active directory and all my admin rights were taken away (security reasons). I am fine with this for the most part, but I do have one problem. I can no longer update my computer's software without admin rights.
Doesn't anyone know a work around for this? You would think there would be a simple way to give udate access to a user, without comprimizing "security".
I am the only mac on the Windows active directory and the only user of this machine...if that's helps.

We have our Macs bound to AD/OD and shutoff Software Update, as well as other items that users should not manipulate while allowing admin access for other purposes.
It takes Apple hardware and software running to accomplish this, but Leopard will allow more of this type control while giving some flexibility to the user - if it is granted.
It's a tough balance - some users know what they're doing, most don't.
As for corporate/gov't IT - SOX compliance has dictated a lot of this, so don't be too hard on the IT guys.
As for timely updates - have you tried pleading your case? I know that if you try, you best have a set of reasons why you need it. If you can't do that, maybe the updates are only a pacifier.

If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.

  • Windows 7 clients cant update software without admin permissions.

    Hello,
We are using Windows 7 clients in a Win2008R2 Domain.  We are also using a few specific software packages that everytime they are run, they check for updates.  Unfortunatly, the updates fail unless you enter an admin user.  I have tried to
make the user a local admin and this still doesnt work.  I just want to let all users install or update software as needed.  I there a way to accomplish this?  Is there a way to give all users the ability to install updates without being local
    admin.
    Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi,
Check if you enable the following policy in your domain environment:
1.In Group Policy Object Editor, expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then click Windows Update.
2.In the details pane, click Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications, and set the option.
    3.Click OK.
