  • How to update song info in iTune & IPOD after changes made in source drive?

After I added songs to library in iTune and updated in IPOD, I notices some some information was not correct. How can I update the song information to iTunes & IPOD other than clicking each song one by one? In another words, is there a way to batch update the song information from the source drive (I have uploaded all my CDs and saved on my harddrive.
    Thank you.

I understand that you use iTunes to sync, but somehow didn't use iTunes to delete the file. You will have to use the iTunes interface to delete the file. Go to iTunes/Books, highlight the book, and delete the file. The next time you sync,  you should not see the message.
Respond in this thread with the results, so we know the problem is fixed or not.

  • I can't play the songs bought On iTunes. It will skip them and shuffle to the sync songs from computer.

The player skips o ley the songs bought On iTunes and plays the oler ones. Do you know if i need to set something?
    Tks.

"The songs are just grey and i cant press them or anything. There is also a small black lock icon at the bottom of my iTunes"
Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to automatically update. If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to manual in the iPod preferences. For more detail see this tutorial: Managing content manually on iPod
One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod

i have over 5000 songs on my computer. Which is from songs bought from iTunes and from cd. i had all the songs on my iPod. went to download new songs and only 1500 songs are download . please help

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

You don't have any choice but to restore your phone.  If the phone is still working, be sure to back up your contacts first.  Since iTunes can't read your phone you can download the app My Contacts Backup, which will back up your contacts as an email attachment.  Send this email to yourself; you can later open it on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts if necessary.  When done, click on Restore (on the Summary tab) and let iTunes do its thing.  Be careful to watch the progress information at the top of iTunes as well as your iPhone screen so that you do not interrupt the restore process until it is completes.

How to update the app through iTune if its size is too big?

If your actually wanting to update your iPhone to IOS  6 and you don't have enough memory available, you still need to the action Chrisfromgastonia recommended.  You will find that Movies and TV Shows being moved to your itunes will free up the largest amount of space.  If IOS 6 is your objective, you may be able to re-download the Movies / Videos after the update.

  • My Iphone won't sync my CD audio files, after having them on my Iphone for years I updated the other day and they all dissapeared, all that's left is songs bought from Itunes.

I've had an Iphone 4 and I have been listening to hundreds of songs no problem for the past year and a half I've owned it. The other day I decided to sync my Iphone to my laptop to get two songs from a CD. After doing this process and approaching it like I usually would (without causing any problems) I checked my Iphone to see if the two songs had downloaded after the sync. I discovered that my Iphone had lost every audio file that was not bought from the Itunes store leaving me with a sliver of songs to listen to. I immediatly checked my laptop (a Windows device) to see if my music was still there, thankfully it's all on my laptop and the songs play without a problem. So I attempted to sync the songs to my iphone several times, but the CD songs would simply not sync (When syncing your Iphone it consists of 5 steps, the progress bar skips steps 3-4, those are the steps when your music syncs). I'm not an idiot, I checked the small details (checking all albums and songs I wanted and checking the 'entire music library' option) as well I checked the big details (making sure my phone and Itunes were up to date, changing the USB to Iphone wire with another just like it). After a couple of hours of tinkering with different ways to sync I was stumped so I decided to restore my Iphone to factory settings. After doing that and setting up my Iphone newly I still could not download those CD files from Itunes to my Iphone. I called apple support and they recommended that I uninstall Itunes and re-install it. Again no success, all my music is still on my laptop working fine, but I can't seem to sync my CD songs from itunes to my Iphone. If anybody has any info please help. -A college student who needs something to listen to everyday on the hour long bus

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

Please let me know how things are going.

  • IPhone iOS5 update – all songs bought on itunes gone

    Hello guys,
a friend of mine has just updated her iPhone 4 to the latest iOS and now all her songs are gone. I cannot find a solution, so maybe you guys have one. She has bought a lot of songs on iTunes but has never synced her phone with her computer. This means that iTunes has never made a backup of her iPhone and consequently no backup of her music. So my question is: is there a way of retreving the music that she has bought on iTunes?
    Kind Regards
    Akira

  • HERE'S HOW TO UPDATE 5G IPOD WITH ITUNES 7:

ok, i will tell u how to manualy update your 5G ipod with the new itunes 7.
after you have your ipod plugged into your PC and you have itunes running, click on your ipod in the list. look half-way down the screen. there should be a box that says, "manualy update songs and....." check the box. after then start to procede adding the songs MANUALY by dragging and dropping them from your music library into either the music folder in the list, or one of your playlists. after the first song is dragged and dropped, itunes will do a long update to your ipod. this shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to complete though. and dont worry, it's safe that it's doing this, it's just checking your songs if they have digital playback. after the update is done, proceed to drag and drop all of the songs that you want on your ipod in the step i have mentioned earlier. it should do a split second update after every song dropped. when you are done with this, click the eject button and disconnect your ipod unless you still wanna charge it.
    Good Luck
    old 5G 30GB   Windows XP

I've managed to get the iPod updater to start installing the new 1.2 firmware on my 5G, but it's taking forever! Currently the iPod screen displays the flashing "Do nod disconnect," and iTunes says it's still updating my iPod.....but it's been something like 15-20 minutes (and I have broadband connection). Surely it shouldn't take this much time?? I'm afraid to disconnect it while it's in the middle of an update. Anyone else have this problem?? Help!

  • Getting songs bought on iTunes into a replaced iPad

I got my iPad2 replaced because of a problem with hardware. Now, the songs I bought in Itunes do not appear under the "bought items". How can I get the items I bought on iTunes on the new iPad? Thanks

  • Differences between songs bought on iTunes, vs. song bought on other sites?

Can someone please explain to me exactly what are the differences in file types between buying songs on iTunes store vs. other sites. I have been buying songs from various Russian sites, and I wonder will iTunes try to block me from playing those files, because they weren't bought on iTunes? Do the newer updates of iTunes software try to block Russian and other online retailers of mp3 music files from selling to music fans who use iTunes and iPod? Obviously, apple would like a monopoly, but are they actively trying to keep others online retailers from selling songs to iTunes users?

iTunes stores are in protected AAC format, ,m4p, only, that is ALL the store sells. Apple, to the best of my knowledge, does not stop you from purchasing from any other download site. What does stop you is most major download sites also have some type of protection on their files which is not compatible with an iPod. One of the download sites that does sell files that are compatible with an iPod is emusic.com, but since most of their catalog is independent, most people are not interested.
When you say Russian download site. I assume you are talking about allo? If so, you might want to exercise caution using that site as the RIAA has been pursing them both in this country & through the Russian legal system for copyright infringement for quite awhile. There have been several times that the legality of the site has been in question.

  • Is there a way to see a list of songs  bought via iTunes?

here's the situation...I was updating a friends iphone, it backed up and all was going well until it hung up in the middle and iTunes closed. I had to reset the phone (can't rememebr the term) anyway all contacts came back but not all the apps or songs that she bought with the phone. Is there a way to get a list of songs bought to the phone from iTunes so she can just put them back on. OR since the phone did backup to the computer where are they on the computer??
    Thanks,
    Mike

In iTunes on the computer, you can pull up your account (forget which menu item up top). From there you can pull up purchase history. It pulls what Apple has on record for you.

  • Sound problems with songs bought of itunes.

i just updated to 9.0.1 and 10.5.8 and now all my 256 kbit m4a files bought of itunes sound very strange, somehow muffled or phasey.
i can tell it pretty well as i'm comparing different formats of my own song.
    1. my original master .wav file : sounds normal
    2. a 320 kbit mp3 bought of beatport (DJ download shop) : sounds normal
    3. a 256 kbit .m4a bought in the itunes store : sounds muffled and phasey now.
if i drag the same file to the desktop and listen to it with quick look it sounds normal again , so it's definitely an issue with itunes.
i don't have any options activated in the settings which could affect the sound and i'm listening in a professional studio environment.
i found another topic regarding this problem but it's in the itunes for windows section.
i wonder why there aren't any other people complaining about it cause it really easy to notice.
nobody else seeing this on a mac ?
    ----

sorry for the triple post, but earlier that day i had a strange error message, numbered -1. I looked for info on it but i could find none. Whenever i tried to start iTunes this error would occur. I eventually solved it, but could that affect the songs I bought earlier? This was the first time I had trouble syncing songs to my iPod.

  • Cannot download songs bought on iTunes to my ipod (Nano)

I cannot figure out how to add a song that I bought on iTunes to one of my playlists on my Nano ipod. Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to sync?
Does any media now sync to the iPod
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
