How to update time zone setting in Aperture 2

When you install Aperture 2 you specify a time zone. However, I can't figure out how to change Aperture's time zone setting. I used to live on EST, so most of my photos are in EST. But since then I've moved to HST (Hawaii Standard Time) and purchased a MacBook and Aperture 2. I'm now trying to import photos taken in EST and can't seem to import them with the correct EST date/time. I changed my MacBook settings to EST and the date/time in the import window shows the label "EST" but the time has been adjusted to 5 hours ahead, which is HST. It is still adjusting the time from EST to HST even though my MacBook is setup to EST at this moment in time.

Have you tried changing the date time settings in your camera?

  • Same user has different time zone setting in Analytics & BI Publisher

    Hi All,
i am using OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 now,
    1) when login to http://localhost:9704/analytics, the time zone setting is (GMT+08:00) Taipei,
    2) when login to http://localhost:9704/xmlpserver, the time zone setting is [GMT-11:00] Midway Island, Samoa,
it is different, why? and i can't even modify the time zone setting in BI Publisher.
    Regards,
    Makson

do you know how does the default time zone setting come from?It comes with the installation itself default. or it will be related to some database timezone that will be taken by BI.
default time zone values can be changed with variables that have been newly introuduced system session variables like TIMEZONE in OBIEE 11g
TIMEZONE --> Contains the time zone of the user, typically populated from the LDAP profile of the user.

  • Time zone setting

I can't seem to locate a time zone setting for Adelaide South Australia on my nano. It's available as a city on the clock but not for me to select as my time zone...am i missing something here!?!
    Cheers,
    Neil

Yes I have the same problem. It's strange that you can select Adelaide in clock section but not in the time zone. It's also silly that you can't select the GMT offset manually.
Apple, is there any way around this? How about a patch that would fix this problem?

  • Report for Users Personal Time Zone Set.

    Hi All,
Is there any report or transaction code, which can give me the list of users with their Personal Time Zone set by Individual on the ECC 6.0 system?
    Thank You in Advance.

You are assuming that there is a standard report but so far no-one can recollect it.
    Have you done the following:?
    1. Identified the relevant field
    2. In SE84 do a "where used" on that field to ID the tables it is in
    3. Looked in all those tables
If it's directly in a table then that will help, if it's stuck in a structure then that's not so good.
You could also do a trace via ST05 to see what tables are referenced or updated when you make the change

  • How to handle time zones?

I'm trying to use some external data in Numbers and I'm having trouble.  First, there was the iso-8601 issue, (I don't see functions for converting to/from).
Second, once I've converted them, (using a combo of another program and some function work), I'm not seeing how to represent time zone info in the date/time format.
Could someone please point me towards how time zone info is packed/unpacked into whatever time format Numbers is using?

Hm.  Thanks, but that wouldn't really help with the time math like durations or using date/time values as coordinates for graphs.
I've converted them all to GMT which works for most of the math but leaves me with a lousy presentation since the times are completely off.  It doesn't work very well to say that certain events are more common at 5:00 GMT than at 8:00 GMT when we're in GMT+8, (or GMT+7 for part of the year).  People tend to ignore the time zone when reading the report and then get confused because the times don't match their expectations.
And I really don't want to implement GMT -> localtime conversions, not even for one time zone.  :\.
Thank you for the confirmation that Numbers is broken on this rather than that I was missing something.

There's a problem with a file on your system.  See #C3 in the above link. It will show you how to locate the message(s) that describe the problem, then help you fix it.    If that doesn't help, post back with details, including all the messages, what you've done, and the results.

  • How to remove time zone offset when we use a number as a relative time variable?

    Hi everyone!
I've a small doubt in using a number as a relative time. If I change the display properties of a numeric to relative time, it takes default value "5:30 AM", may be because I'd set time zone to Indian time during installation ( India is 5:30 hours ahead of Greenwhich). I want it to take default value "12:00 AM'. Please help me how I do it?
( I can also subtract 5:30 hours and get the same. But I want that to have "12:00 AM" by default......?!)
    Thank you all..!

As Ravens already stated, you are using ABSOLUTE time.  Relative time can only be set to display hours, minutes, and/or seconds.

  • How to change Time Zone rules in CPS for Russia

    Hi
Coming up to DST change this weekend 30th Oct we found that Russia is not changing their time anymore for the first time ever
Were based in the UK but we have jobs scheduled for Europe/Moscow time which is set at +3 hours after the clocks going back this weekend Europe/Moscow will be +4 hours
But Russia is not set to change their timezone anymore, but CPS will still make the change which I dont want anymore.
Timezones are listed under Environment - Timezone but the only thing you can edit is the description.
How do I go about removing DST from the Europe/Moscow time zone?
we still want to use Europe/Moscow for certain jobs.
    Kind Regards
    Jonathan

    Hello,
Russia is cutting back on the number of timezones these years and also changing their definitions.
The timezones are maintained in the Java JVM you are using. To make sure you have the latest definitions make sure you have patched your JVM with the correct timezone definitions.

  • How to escalate Time Zone bug in iPhone Calendar to Apple?

Hi, does anyone know how to escalate a bug in the iPhone calendar software to Apple?
Time Zone support on the iphone which causes calendar items created in location "Kuwait" to be saved as "Gulf Standard Time" and not "Arabian Standard Time", which means that they arrive one hour out of sync in iCal.
    To replicate the problem:
    1. Turn on time zone support in both the iPhone and iCal
    2. Set the location to Kuwait on both
    3. Create an item in the calendar on the iphone
    4. Allow it to sync over Mobile Me
    5. See that it turns up 1 hour out in iCal
    6. Open the event in iCal and notice that it is set to "Gulf Standard Time" and not "Arabian Standard Time"
The workaround is to turn the time zone on the iPhone to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which apparently is correctly matched to "Arabian Standard Time"
    Thanks

  • How to change Time (Zone) that Project On-Line install defaults to

We are using Project Online. and the time displayed eg., Job Queue, is 3 hours behind.  ie., it is displaying Pacific time, but we are in the Eastern Time zone.  Can we change it?  If so how?
    Thanks in advance,
    \Spiro Theopoulos, Montreal, QC (Canada)

    Hello,
There are certain areas in Project Online that will display the time zone incorrectly. All you can do is change the Regional Settings for the PWA site collection but that will not update all times as you have seen. I'm not sure if this is something
that will be resolved in the near future or not. It might be worth you opening a support ticket via the Office 365 tenant so that all the requests can officially be logged / tracked.

  • How to use time zone settings with calendar events ??

After looking through the questions on time zones and synchronization, I still cannot get my Palm Centro to operate the way I think it should.
I have a Verizon Centro, am using Windows XP with Outlook, and synching via the Hotsync manager 7.02 over a USB cable.  I am not using Palm Desktop.
I am expecting events to shift time in the calendar when I change the time zone, but they do not.
I am preparing for a trip.  I enter several test events into MS Outlook placing the events to occur in a different time zone into my calendar at the time the event would occur in my home time zone (NY).   For example, a meeting from 9-10 AM in Los Angeles is put in my MS outlook calendar as 12-1 PM on the day of the meeting.  Then I sync, with the time zone of my Centro and Outlook set for New York.  The Centro is set to update Date, Time, Zone automatically from the network in New York. The meeting event appears as 12-1 PM on the correct day.
Then I turn off the Centro phone (ie disconnect from the Verizon network), change the time update to "Nothing" -- ie entirely manual, change the time zone to Los Angeles and set  the time to the correct time in Los Angeles.   I expect the meeting to shift to 9-10 AM in my Centro calendar, but it does not !!!!!  I try other combinations -- Leave the time update on Date and Time automatic, and change the time zone to Los Angeles, etc.  I think I tried all the combinations.  Throughout, I leave the Centro phone off of the Verizon network.  I cannot get the meeting to change its time in the new time zone.
What is the trick ??? What did I miss ??
You might ask why I am trying this with the phone turned off -- that is because I am really going much farther than LA, and into a GSM network where I will simply use the Centro as a PDA.
    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks for the response.
Indeed my preference was not set "new events use time zones".
Meanwhile, I had loaded all the applointments from Outlook, about 20 of them,
figuring I would just move them manually en route.
I will play with the time zone preference, but,
is there any way to identify the existing appointments in the
Palm as belonging to a different time zone, just using the Palm Centro ?
    Thanks,

  • Browser Time Zone Setting

We're using Apex 4.x and I need to capture the Browser Time Zone (TZ) into an application level item. Can anyone please suggest the approach.
Initial thoughts are to capture the TZ using JavaScript and use it inside the Page 101 login procedure. But, I'd appreciate any tips on how this TZ can be passed into an application level item and stored for further usage within my application.
    Thanks,
    VS Kumar

Jari - Thanks for your great tip. I was able to utilize this feature and assigned to apex application variable the timezone offset using GET_SESSION_TIMEZONE. I have a minor issue since I'm setting in the apex developer menu path - 'Shared Components ->Edit Globalization Attributes ->Automatic Time Zone=Yes'
When I run the application there is a brief 5 seconds *'Set Time Zone'* message that pops and then I see the login. Do you know how this message can be not visible, but still be able to set the session time zone offset using the above setting (Meaning, the problem is fixed using the above setting, but the message that appears before the login screen appears 'Set Time Zone' is a bit inconvenient.
Can you please advice if this message can be made NOT to display, but continue to use the 'Yes' for 'Automatic Time Zone' in the Globalization Attributes?
    Thanks,
    SK

  • [SOLVED] Gnome's automatic time zone setting never triggers

Whenever I travel across timezones, I need to open Date & Time Settings and turn Automatic Time Zone off and then on again. When I do that, the timezone updates correctly. Is there maybe a super-long refresh interval on that feature by default? Or some optional package I need to install to actually enable it? Thanks for any suggestions.

Oh good call, that was off. I'll assume that was the issue. (I guess turning on Automatic Time Zone does one location check irrespective of the setting?)

  • My iCal is off by 1 hour - same time zone setting

Help!  I've been through numerous forum posts regarding iCal quirks and I can't find a solution to my problem.
I use MS Outlook at my work and sometimes, I send myself an appointment on my home account so I can see the same personal appointment on both calendars.  Today, I set an event for tomorow morning 9AM on MS Outlook and I invited myself on my icloud.com account.
When I received the meeting invitation for 9AM, it shows that the originator (me) sent the invitation for 9AM in the time zone I was sending it from but on my iCal the time the meeting shows up is 8AM.  It's off by 1 hour.
I've verified all my time settings in my computer and I can't find any setting that will move the time to the correct time.
The time zone where I'm sending the Outlook invitation is set to GMT-5:00 Eastern Time.  I used the 'set time zone automatically' feature in the Mac System Prefs and the city next to where I'm located is automatically detected.  The location is coming up within a confirmed time zone that is GMT-5:00 Eastern Time.  The two calendars should match but they're off by 1 hour.
Any suggestions on what I might try to fix the problem?

Over the weekend my computer shut down due to battery running out, which I now know dumps all Mail accounts.  Between this issue with the time zone and the loss of my Mail data I have switched to Outlook 2011.  It has been a bit of a pain to re-setup a mail program but my meetings are now making it to my calendar correctly.  Of course outlook and iCal don't play friendly either so I have to drag and drop to get things onto my calendar but at least I'm making it to my meetings at the appropriate times.
Mine time issues were with webex meetings.  Thanks for confirming that it wasn't my system alone.
