Please suggest how to update version of XDK on Oracle 8.1.7.4 or it's impossible?

I am don't know where to see version of XDK on Oracle 8.1.7.4?
on Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 it is possible in view dba_registry by query
select * from dba_registry where comp_id = 'XML';
but i could not get result on Oracle 8.1.7.4
I will thanks if you suggest how to see it.
My goal to update xmlparser as current version of it can't parse
tag of national symbols.

How to UPDATE a big table in Oracle via Bulk Load

Hi all,
in a datastore target as Oracle 11g, I have a big table having 300milions of record; the structure is One integer key + 10 columns attributes .
In IQ Source i have the same table with the same size ; the structure is One integer key + 1 column attributes .
What i need to do is to UPDATE that single field in Oracle from the values stored in IQ .
Any idea on how to organize efficiently the dataflow and the target writing mode ? bulk load ? api ?

Hi,
You cannot do bulk load when you need to UPDATE a field. Because all a bulk load does is add records to your table.
Since you have to UPDATE a field, i would suggest to go for SCD with
source > TC > MO > KG >target

I have sles 10 sp2 x86_64 on which oracle client 10.2 is installed. this installation was not done by me!
so i dont know what version/architecture (32/64 bit) mode of the oracle client is installed on the client.
from sqlplus -V i get only the version which is installed and not whether it is 32 or 64 bit. how can i find that out.
sqlplus -V

with a bit of googling i found only the below link which says 10g client 32-bit cannot be installed on a 64 bit system.

If you have "64bit" string in V$VERSION it means Oracle 64bit is running.

I just wanted to know when a user issues a update (any DML) statement, what are all the steps involved?
Like when user updated some statement, the modified block goes to the undo tablespace and new data will be stored in the user PGA and when user issues a commit statement.Does it delinked it from the uno tablespace and lgwr flushed the block to the redo logfile(does the lgwr also flushed the uncommited changes to the logfile as datafile stores the committed as well as uncomitted data).Can anybody suggest me how all the things work internally?

After closing Firefox, Remove the files in the ''updates'' and ''updates\0'' folder:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\
Then try the update again.
If that fails, download the latest from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html and install it.

How to update resource content in the resource_view?
I am trying to use XML Versioning. And not able to update the resource content using PL/SQL. Upon executing update, sql prompt says 1 row updated, but when I extract the same resource, it returns previous values. Is this a bug?
I tired the following statements:
--Create Resource

Update the whole 'Test' element itself with the new element and value.

If you have Vista, go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10203vista.html
You will normally follow the upgrade guide that comes with the download. It is simple to follow.

I downloaded and installed the Oracle Client Version 10.2.0.1 on Windows x86
Now I would like to update this oracle client, but how ?
I installed the software to
C:\oracle\client
Now I downloaded Patchset 3 (10.2.0.4)
But I can´t install this patchset, because I can´t select the folder c:\oracle\client --> OUI-10136: OracleHome already exists
But thats the home I need to update, right ?
How to update the oracle client software ?
Is there any full package to download for version 10.2.0.4 ?

Absolut weird.
I can´t use the drop down menu.
It looks like disabled.
But acutually you can (and have to) click on the little arrow, pick the default value and then the installation works.

How to import updated version of APEX app without losing saved IR's?

Does anyone have suggestions on how to import updated version of APEX app without losing saved IR's?
Also, I want to maintain app id from update to update (from revision to revision). In fact, I think that that is required in order to keep the saved IR's.
The only process I have found that seems to "work" (i.e. loads new revision of app over old revision of app) is the following (via SQL*Plus):

Hi,
I cope with the same issue.
But I've several prod instances and many applications on each of these... and SIR saved by many users.
Of course each prod application have its own ID, distinct from the dev application ID.
Is there really not any kind of solution in my case (apart from release the dev app on the dev workspace ; export 50 apps from it and import those 50 times, maybe more in the futur) ?
I'd be a pity if not, I think there must be a lot of us working in that configuration.
