How to upddate Nvidia driver for my Windows in bootcamp?

Hi I just want to ask if just using the Nvidia driver that it suggest from the udpate tab in the control panel of Nvidia is the way I can update my driver, or is there a special way to update when you are using bootcamp?

In the past, I have seen problems in some MacBooks when you install drivers from the NVIDIA website. However, this doesn't apply to newer computers and you can install the drivers from the NVIDIA website. Moreover, it's recommended, because the drivers that Apple includes are old and doesn't work as the most recent driver does.
You can download the driver from NVIDIA Control Panel or from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com

That doesn't sound good. It sounds like the power outage might have corrupted the partition for OS X. I would suggest booting from the Install DVD that came with your Mac while holding down the C key. Once you have selected the language start up Disk Utility from the pull down menu and repair the disk. Once you have done that then repair permissions also.

  • Latest Nvidia Driver for G560 does not install!

    Hi,
i've tried to install the latest nvidia driver for my G560. But it seems like the only driver working on this system is the preinstalled driver from Lenovo.
I always get the message that the driver can't find the required hardware. I've downloaded the correct (Win 7 64 Bit) and latest driver from Nvidias webpage. I've even tried some older drivers from the drivers archive.
Does anybody have a clue how I can solve my problem?
    Greetings Cpk83

It does look like the correct driver. But I noticed this "Note: The following notebooks are not supported in this release: 1. Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power with Intel chipsets. 2. Fujitsu notebooks – support will be added in a later release. Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) notebooks are supported in this release. 3. Sony VAIO notebooks – support will be added in a later release. Sony VAIO Windows 7 users can click here for driver update support. 4. Any notebook that is launched after the release date of this driver. " Does anyone know if this laptop has Hybrid Power? Also here is a good tip/recommended from ATI. "Advisory: The display driver supplied by the laptop manufacturer is customized for the built-in flat panel display, and the graphics features and functions specific to the laptop. It is strongly recommended to use the supplied drivers. If installing a different operating system other than the one included with the laptop, the laptop may not meet all the requirements, and supported drivers may not be available. The laptop manufacturer is the exclusive provider of driver updates. If the required driver update is not available at the laptop manufacturers’ website, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer directly, to see if an updated driver will be made available in the future."

  • Can't find nvidia driver for my HP Pavilion dv6000

    Hello,
I just upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Starter.
But i can't find a NVIDIA driver for it.
My laptop name is Pavilion DV6000 and i have a 32 BIT.
    Please can somebody help me?
    Vincent

    Hi @viniboy007
I understand that you  are looking for a driver for your notebook, and that you have upgraded to windows 7.
Please post the full product number for your notebook, so I can post a link to the supported drivers for your notebook.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
If there are not supported drivers for that product from HP, then it means the unit was never sold in that configuration. Then I would refer you to this page: What if I Don't See My Operating System?
The problem then is more about trying to find drivers that will work, that have not been customized by HP to work with the other components on the notebook.

  • How to partition my drive for  Mac and XP use?  from a novice

I would like to use my MacBook Pro for both Mac ad PC programs (Office and others) and hear that I can partition the drive.  How is the best way to do that?  Also I have an external Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex external drive to set up that supposedly can back up both Mac and PC without formatting each time.  Do I have to partition the drive first?  Do I use Time Machine?

Is it your intent to run Windows programs on your computer?  If so then this is more than simply a partitioning exercise.
In order to use an external drive on both Macs and PCs there are two options.  Option One is to partition and format the drive MBP and FAT32, respectively.  OS X can read/write a FAT32 formatted drive.  However, due to filesystem differences some features of the OS X filesystem are not supported by FAT32, so FAT32 is not the best choice for transferring OS X documents, but would be fine for transferring Windows documents.
Option Two is to partition the drive using GUID then creating two partitions.  One partition is formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled and the other partition is formatted FAT32.  Each partition can be used for the data from the appropriate platform.
TM is not a file transfer program, cannot be used for Windows documents, and does not work on Windows.
If you wish to run Windows on your Mac then see the following:
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system.
See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows. You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

If you are using a Linux 2.4 kernel, please make sure
you either have configured kernel sources matching your
kernel or the correct set of kernel headers installed
    on your system.
If you are using a Linux 2.6 kernel, please make sure
you have configured kernel sources matching your kernel
installed on your system. If you specified a separate
output directory using either the "KBUILD_OUTPUT" or
the "O" KBUILD parameter, make sure to specify this
directory with the SYSOUT environment variable or with
the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.
Depending on where and how the kernel sources (or the
kernel headers) were installed, you may need to specify
their location with the SYSSRC environment variable or
the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.

    Hello,
I'm kind of a noob and am trying to get follow the directions from the Nvidia wiki on installing on a custom kernel.  I'm trying to use the abs method to install on kernel26rt version 2.6.33rt.  I followed directions exactly and am getting an error that I didn't find on any other posts.  Can you please take a look?  Here is my terminal:

    2 Watts = 93 decibels
    4 Watts = 96 decibels
    8 Watts = 99 decibels
    16 Watts = 102 decibels
    32 Watts = 105 decibels
    64 Watts = 108 decibels
    128 Watts = 111 decibels
    256 Watts = 114 decibels
    512 Watts= 117 decibels
    1024 Watts = 120 decibels
    For Comparison
    10db = normal human breathing
    60db = normal human conversation
110db = power saw, car horn, shouting in ear,
120db = jet aircraft close by, emergency vehicle siren, rock concert
Now as to whether installing the IDT High-Definition Audio CODEC Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 will give you the audio level you are seeking will depend on what computer you have and what audio drivers are installed. To provide you with more accurate information I would need to know additional information concerning your computer. Is this an HP computer? If it is not the driver question would be better answered by the computer manufacturer. If this is an HP computer could you please provide the product number for it so I can take a look into what drivers work on that computer?
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

  • Compiling nvidia driver for custom kernel

I have a Toshiba M200 tablet PC running Arch Linux (which I love, btw) and it's running fine, including the tablet.
There's an irritating bug with suspend-to-ram (suspend-to-disk doesn't work with the nvidia driver) where the tablet pen stops working after resume.
There's a patch slated to be in some future kernel, but I compiled my own with that patch included. It boots fine and all seems to be well with it.
However, I need to compile the nvidia driver for it, since the binary does not work. So I copy /var/abs/extra/nvidia and modify the PKGBUILD and nvidia.install files per the instructions on this wiki page, and run makepkg -i -c .
I get a big error message early on, saying
*** Unable to determine the target kernel version. ***
I've checked everything I can think of.
    $ uname -r
    2.6.25-tablet
ls -l /usr/src shows linux-2.6.25-tablet, and linux is a symlink to it. /lib/modules/2.6.25-tablet/build is also symlinked to the right kernel source tree.
So I'm out of ideas for why the nvidia makefile can't seem to find the kernel source.
    Thanks in advance.

    @klixon:
I think that may be the root of the trouble: I compiled the kernel on my desktop (C2D 2.8) rather than my wussy laptop (1.6 Centrino). It installed and ran fine and all that, but I only have the kernel source tree that was included in the package, not the one that really compiled the code. Would simply copying it suffice, or should I rebuild the kernel on my laptop? Also, the PKGBUILD is included below.
    @shazeal:
I believe this is a subset of the problem I describe above?
The PKGBUILD, somewhat customized from the nvidia ABS. I don't think any of the changes are overly shocking.
I've tried dozens of different modifications of it now. The simplest one is just appending '-tablet' to pkgname and _kernver.

  • How to download wifi driver for macbook pro?

Hi, how to download wifi driver for macbook pro?

Apple hardware drivers are an integral part of OS X and cannot be removed through normal means.
Why do you believe it's necessary to download a driver?

  • Driver for my windows 7 64bit 2000 notebook pc 2000-2d02TU

driver for my windows 7 64bit 2000 notebook pc 2000-2d02TU
i need my drivers as i didnt get the driver cd with notebook and for some problem i reinstalled my os windows 7 ultimate ,and when i am searching in your website i am just geting windows 8 not windows 7 .

    Hi:
Your notebook came with FreeDos, and HP only supports their consumer PC's with drivers for the current Windows operating system in effect at the time of the notebook's production, which currently is Windows 8.
I cross-referenced the hardware in your model with the hardware in slightly older HP 2000's, and all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from this model should also work on yours.

  • Clone a Mac Partition to an External Drive from within Windows 7 Bootcamp?

Anyone know if it is possible to clone the mac os x partition to an external drive from within Windows 7 bootcamp? I (like a few others) had a problem with the latest 10.6.3 update and I cannot boot into the mac partition but I can access it via bootcamp so I was thinking about trying to clone it to an external drive and then boot from the new clone and see if that works.
    Appreciate your comments.

setup a 30GB partition on an external drive, along with a partition of 150% the size of your Mac OS X volume -- or larger.
    Install OS X to 30GB.
While booted from DVD, before you install, you'll need to go to Utility Menu => Disk Utility to do the partitoning. While there, in DU see if you can repair your system.
And where is your TimeMachine or clone backup? The "Step #1: Backup before beginning your Boot Camp project."?
No way to backup or clone from within Windows, though you may be able to write to NTFS backup volume, UNLESS you bought MacDrive8 which allows read AND write to HFS+ from within Windows.

  • How to install USB driver for Windows?

I'm trying to connect my LG VS980 phone to a Windows XP computer. I'm having difficulty installing the USB driver.
After following several false trails, I found what I think is the right file: on a "Product Support" page which says it's for a "G2 Verizon VS980," there's a button labeled, "Install the USB DRIVER / USB DRIVER for Windows / DOWNLOAD." I clicked the button and downloaded a file 8 MB file. Its name is LG. Not LG.exe or LG.msi or LG.zip. Just LG.
When I double click the file, Windows quite reasonably asks me what program to use to run it. I don't know what program to use any more than Windows does.
There's a link labeled "Instructions... LG G2 VS980 SOFTWARE UPDATE below the download button. When I click it, it loads instructions for installing software on the phone.
Can anyone make sense of this for me?

I'll so my best to answer the questions.
    >...what you're looking to do a transfer with...?
Initially I want to download pictures taken with the phone's camera. I've considered other uses for a USB connection that I can explore once it's working. I'm puzzled by the question, though. Why should the type of data I want to transfer affect the fact that I can't find an installable driver? I wonder whether my question means the same thing to you as it does to me.
Because photos and music are the basic media people want to transfer between their phones and computers. (Computers in this sense are laptops, desktops, note books etc.) So the question to you was valid.
    >Also, have you tried any other computers?
No. Again, I'm puzzled. What difference would another computer make? Would I be able to find a download from one computer that I can't find from another? (Only by blind chance.) Might another computer be able to execute or load a file with no filetype? (Only if it has magical powers.)
Different computers may work where the computer you own evidently does not work. It is good to check the connection of the device to another computer to rule that out. I will answer the obvious of different operating systems and how they function.
    >And which software version if your phone currently running?
That question makes sense. Unfortunately I can't answer it. I've looked up how to find the version number, and the instructions tell me to select an "About phone" item in the Settings menu, which doesn't exist.
Doesn't exist? open the Settings Menu go all the way to the bottom (scroll down) the last entry is "ABOUT PHONE" click it. It will give hardware and software versions operating system number etc. Its there trust me. My wife just bought this phone and loves it.
    >Often times, the device drivers you're prompted to install are supported solely by the computer's software.
I'm not sure what you're saying here. Taken at face value, it's a trivial and obvious: any driver that one installs on any computing device is supported solely by (i.e., depends on) the device's software. But how does that relate to the question about the version of Android? Android runs on the phone; the driver has to run on the computer.
You stated you are using an older Windows XP computer, I can tell you I hooked my wife's phone to our Windows 8.1 computer and no drivers were necessary. It came up with an option on the phone screen and I chose USB Mass Storage for the connection. This option is also in the phones settings. Read the manual it has loads of information form you to use.
The device had a drive letter assigned and it was labeled LG-Network and once you double click it the folders for music, photos, etc. are all there. Via using windows manager you can simply do a copy and paste to and from the different folders and drives with ease.
    Good Luck

  • Please advise me how to update audio driver for windows 7 32bit....my computer is dv4 1428dx

HP PAVILON DV4 1428dx company installed OS is vista...Upgrade to windows 7 -32bits
I have been having troubles like BSOD, NETIO.sys and computer crashes evey 5minutes.
it is now stable without any problems and only the sound driver refuses to install.
Please advise how to update driver for W7 as it is not available on the HP site.

    Hi:
Did you try the Vista driver?  Normally they work fine for W7.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-69143-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=
Another thing you can try is to be connected to the internet. Click on the audio controller in the device manager. Click on the Driver tab.  Click on Update Driver and select the automatic search.
Sometimes W7 will pull down a driver from the Windows Update site.
If the above 2 suggestions don't work, try this driver which seems to be the same as the Vista one, but for Windows 7.

  • How TO Share XSAN DRIVE for Windows PC

    Good day .
I spend 1 day for sharing Xsan Drive for Windows Users.
For Mac Users it is not problem , But Mac can share only User Documents and share files with Windows PCs.
I found 1 solution with SAMBA. SMB.
I whant to get Apple solution for it. I dont whant to use anothere software to share files.
    Thanks.

It is not clear what you are asking.
Do you want to share the XServe RAID data to Windows clients?
What machine is the XServe RAID connected to? Is it connected to a Mac?
By default Mac OS X Server will only share user home directories. To share other directories you can use Workgroup Manager (Tiger) or Server Admin (Leopard) to specify additional share points.
The Mac will not automatically share any volume to network users. That is a security risk, so you have to tell it which directories to share.
