How to Upgrade Firmware to 2.30

I just downloaded the new firmware (2.30) but how do I install it. Also, is it normal that the read light (green) is on all the time? I've had problems burning DVDs but suspect it is the media, right now I have Pine DVD-R 2X which I suspect with old firmware is uncompatible

Power calabration error is something technical for something that I have no idea. lol. Try a different disk brand. To update (DR4-A I asume) to 2.30 follow the instructions on this website. Yes it is normal for the read light to always be on.

    how to upgrade firmware on 7921g wireless phone from 1.0.2 to 1.0.4 via USB?
    The 7921g is connected via USB to a PC. I am using a browser to access the phone. Documentation says "Click the Phone Upgrade hyperlink under SYSTEM options. " but that option is not present or not visible.

    You can use the Phone Upgrade area on the web page to upgrade firmware files on the phones by using the USB connection or by using the WLAN. To upgrade the phone software, enter the phone software TAR (firmware file name) or use the Browse button to locate the firmware file on the network.
    To display the Phone Upgrade area, access the web page for the phone as described in the Accessing the Configuration Web Page for a Phone section available at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/5_0_1/english/administration/guide/21adm50.pdf

  • How to upgrade firmware

    Hi ,
    I have 6230i , and I want to upgrade my firmware newest one.
    How can I learn newest firmware version of 6230i?
    My version is 3.40
    And How can I upgrade firmware version of my 6230i?
    thx.

    With the 6230i, you can send/take it to your nearest Nokia authorized service/repair center and ask them to do the update for you.
    You can try this site for locating one:
    http://www.nokia.com/repair
    With some models you could use "NSU" or the Nokia Software Update application on a Windows PC, but unfortunately it doesn't support the 6230i (maybe the support will come, or at least with your next Nokia device it will be possible):

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    From your post, I cannot quite tell the specific process you are attempting...so I will give you everything...
    The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    6) Disconnect your PC from the internet and turn off all radios on your BB (consider also removing the SIM...not likely necessary, but just in case)
    76a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
    7b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
    Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
    If, during the processes of 7a or 7b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • How to upgrade firmware PLE400 and PLS400 - Utility v1.4.5.0 can't find adapters on network

    Need help.
    Trying to upgrade all of my Linksys Powerline Adapters to latest firmware. Only the PLW400 could be found by ip address to update firmware.
    For the other PLE400 and PLS400 adatpers, I can't find them on local network by IP, so I downloaded and installed the powerline av utility v1.4.5.0   But this utility does not find any of the adapters on the network. Does not work to scan network for these devices. Using Windows 7 computer.
    Please help. Trying to get my Powerline network adapters all functioning 100%. Thanks!

    Hi @NO_SCREENNAME@. Have you tried disabling any firewall or anti-virus when you do the update? Also, have you directly connected your computer to the Powerline before doing the update? You may also follow the steps from Linksys KB Article, if you already downloaded the latest AV Utility.

  • How to Upgrade PowerBook Firmware( All Hardwares )

    How to Upgrade PowerBook Firmware( All Hardwares )?
    Thank U in advance

    If there is a firmware upgrade available for your model of PowerBook, it will appear when your run Software Update and also be listed at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
    Then you download the installer and run it. Usually you have to do something like hold down the Command key and Power button while you're restarting.
    Firmware updates don't come along very often. The last one I can remember installing was for my B&W G3. The last firmware upgrades I can see listed for a PowerBook were for the 550MHz or 667MHz G4s back in 2002.
    Is there a specific reason why you're asking about firmware upgrades?

  • How to upgrade handheld firmware to the most available recent version

    Hi,
    I have a BB 8800 (T-Mobile) and I tried to update current firmware (4.2.1.101) to the recent OS version. I went to the T-Mobile site and found that there was older version (4.2.1.74) than installed on my handheld.
    So, I did the following. I checked all carries on this page and found that Orange UK offers handheld version 4.5 for BB8800.
    I downloaded handheld 4.5 software from Orange UK site. Installed it on my PC.
    Deleted the VENDOR.XML file located at:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\VENDOR.XML
    After that I connected my handheld to the PC and ran Blackberry Desktop Manager.
    And it upgraded my handheld OS to the 4.5.0.52

  • How to downgrade Timecapsule 7.6.4 to 7.6.1... I have no button "Upgrade Firmware" on the latest release of rhe Airport utility

    With a TC 2nd generation, I have problem with Wifi dropping down after few days.
    I'm running 7.6.4 firmware and it looks that people having same problems have fixed it with downgrading to 7.6.1
    On the latest Airport utility (running on my MacOSX maverick), I could find any button (or menu) to upgrade firmware (or choose to downgrade to a previous version)
    Has anybody an idea to force this downgrade?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Best

    It is a hidden option.
    Click on the TC in the airport utility.. then in the summary screen..
    Click on the version with the option key held down.. all the other firmware available show up.. select one..

    If you are a developer, or have a similar personality, there is an aftermarket EFI-64 "work-alike" program you can load into memory instead of 64-bit firmware. It is too complicated for regular folks.
    You must already have upgraded your Memory and your graphics card to use this solution, and your Mac will not operate quite normally. Any problems with it are unsupported.

  • How to upgrade from CDROM to DVDROM on Enterprise 4000?

    So, I've been having trouble registering my Enterprise 4000 (making patching a much bigger PITA). The advice was to get some particular patches that I can't download without a Sun support contract. I'm a hobbyist and my server has 9 physical CPUs, so the pricing is too nuts to imagine for a support contract. I was then told that the patches I wanted were incorporated in the latest Solaris 10 update. That update (update 8 -- 10/09) is only available on DVD, not CD (as far as I can find).
    My E4000 only has a CDROM drive, so I ordered a Toshiba DVD-ROM (SD-M1401). I replaced the CDROM with the DVD ROM, setting up to the same SCSI ID and termination. When I booted, vold was core dumping any time I tried to restart it, and no disks seemed to be read otherwise. I started thinking that I might need new firmware.
    I spent days trying to figure out if there was a simple place to go to find the latest firmware upgrades for my E4000, and I couldn't find it. All the docs I found had only vague references to using SunSolve or I found specific pages but only for newer hardware. Finally, I found a firmware update just for the Toshiba 1401 drive (111649-04), but even that requires a support contract, and it may or may not be for the OS (it looks like it may literally be a patch for the DVD drive itself).
    Can anyone help with where I'm doing the wrong thinking on installing a DVD drive into my E4000, and/or in how to approach firmware updates?
    Is there an easier way to install Solaris 10 update 8 without having to have a DVD drive, extra HDD volumes (Live Update), or install servers?
    My system is:
    Release = 5.10
    KernelID = Generic_127127-11
    Machine = sun4u
    BusType = <unknown>
    Serial = <unknown>
    Users = <unknown>
    OEM# = 0
    Origin# = 1
    NumCPU = 9
    'OBP 3.2.24 1999/12/23 17:31' + 'POST 3.9.24 1999/12/23 17:35'
    ...all this is just to get to a patch level to install Oracle 11g, and the patches listed to get there are also all listed as requiring a support contract (unless they're included in the latest Solaris update).

    Hello,
    I would suggest that you download and review the documentation for the E4000. The references to the documentation have been removed (!) from the [E4000 page|http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/validateUser.do?target=Systems/E4000/E4000] in the public (= accessable w/o service contract) Sun System Handbook, but I think they are still available on docs.sun.com.

    802-3845 Ultra Enterprise 4000/5000/6000 Systems Manual
    Is the DVD drive detected at the ok-prompt with probe-scsi-all ? If yes, compare the firmware level of the drive.
    The firmware patch is only appliable on drives with Sun firmware (the updater checks the vendor id) and enables to boot from DVD (mounting a DVD works even w/o updated firmware). The [patch 111649-04|http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-111649-04-1] is still listed as public.
    Does vold core dump even with a known good CD media (e.g. an earlier Solaris release) ?
    A quick search for Ex000 firmware located [Patch 103346-30|http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-103346-30-1]. Maybe you have used an outdated link.
    If the DVD drive doesn't work, you can alternatively install OpenSolaris. A [*preliminary* Text Installer|http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+caiman/Text+Install+b134+Notes] is available as a CD image. Only a few frame buffers are supported (none for these old systems), but "of course you can also run GNOME on a SPARC server using remote graphics display over the X11 or VNC protocols ..., so local graphics aren't necessarily needed, .." (quote copied from Alan Coopermith's post on the caiman-discuss list).
    If I remember correctly there was an entry on blogs.sun.com about installing Oracle 10g or 11g on OpenSolaris.
    I found the document [Installing Oracle 11g Release 2 on OpenSolaris|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SAPonSun/Installing+Oracle+11g+Release+2+on+OpenSolaris] x86.
    Please report your findings and advances in trouble-shooting.
