How to upgrade imac os from 10.4.11 to 10.5 or later?

my iMAC OS is 10.4.11 - I want to sync my iphone with my iMAC, but when I try to download the latest iTunes, it says I need 10.5. How to do I get the OS upgrade and how will the upgrade effect my applications and data?

    * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
    * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

I have an iMac G5 running on OSX 10.3.9 and am finding that a lot of the new printers, scanners, etc. need 10.4 or higher to connect and run through the iMac. I currently have 45.3 GB of free space on the Mac. Could you tell me how to upgrade to a higher OSX and should I go to the newest OSX version or would the 10.4 or 5 work OK? You can upgrade to Tiger or Leopard depending upon whether your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
System requirements for Leopard
You must have a Macintosh computer with:

at least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)

Tiger requires a minimum of 256 MBs of installed RAM and does not have a CPU speed restriction.
You will have to purchase a retail installer package. Since Apple no longer sells either you will need to look for a third-party vendor on eBay or by searching Google.

One option I thought of was to uninstall 10203 agent and install 10204 in the same agent home But I was wondering if there is a way I can upgrade my agent.
Q2. Does the agent version on target and host(OMS) need to be same or can I have Target Agent 10.2.0.4 and host agent 10.2.0.3?

Recently I needed to use a third macbook for work but didn't want to drag along my best MBPro into such harsh conditions, so I decided to take my old macbook out of retirement, but because I don't have an app store on it I'm surprized how difficult it is to do something that should've been so simple.

There have been lots of different MacBooks. If yours is an older PPC (G4 orG5) Mac you cannot upgrade any further. If it is an Intel Mac:

Bought a new iMac on 18/11/2011.
Came with Operating System 10.6.8
Have now found out that I should have had the Lion OS installed by updating for free.
Have tried for days now but no luck, I still have to pay for upgrading.
Does anybody out there have the same problem and could tell me where to go ??

Only AppleCare (Call the 800 number) can fix this for you.
Any Mac sold by Apple (after about July I think) should have come with an Option for Lion, but they have to set it up for you.

I'm a brand new Mac user; a refugee from the Windows platform. I have had 2 brand new iMacs with a most unwelcome "bonus" option from the git-go: Remote access from Day One. I haven't even had time yet to learn the Mac platform or the 10.5.2 OS; as all of my time has been spent tracing the source of the Remote Access, the applications exploited, and the timetable of when it all occurred.
I had had a PC that was totally and professionally hacked; which is why I got an iMac in the first place; the malware on the system was of the type that hides in the BIOS and is nearly impossible to get rid of. It seemed that every exploit and zero-day vulnerability was taken advantage of!!
(See "Virtual Malware" in F-Secure and Security Focus for relevant info about backdoors, trojans, and bots. This stuff gets through firewalls and turns off internet security software!)
Anyhoo, the stuff on both of the brand-new iMacs looks disturbingly parallel to what I have seen on my old PC. I have taken detailed notes on how it appears the remote access was gained, but it has been extremely difficult to convince AppleCare or the so-called "Mac Geniuses" that there is a problem with my system. I keep hearing "There is no malware for the Mac..." yada yada yada...
So why is there an SMBIOS and BIOS listed as an "extension", if the iMac runs on Intel EFI, not BIOS? I found this gem while trying to unravel the cryptic device tree of my hardware. What an ungodly nightmare.... just trying to FIND the information on the processor and chipset was hard enough. I have had to ask several times why I have a Bluetooth/Firewire "USB Host Controller" for a USB Bus on my system, and the only answer I get is "Your Bluetooth is only for your keyboard and mouse." I'm not an engineer, but I know something is wrong. I have seen it, and I have traced at least part of it. Does anyone have contact information for corporate technical/engineering offices; with real people I can send my notes to? Does anyone have any answers as to what's going on? Anyone?? Anyone?? Bueller?.... Bueller?

It's state-message based. Presuming you haven't changed the defaults, that's every 15 minutes out of the box, that a client will send any pending state messages.
There's probably a mechanism for forcing a single client to send any pending state messages, but honestly I usually just get a cuppa coffee and wait. (I've learned to be patient with ConfigMgr).

an error account which says : Application Express Installation requires database version 10.2.0.3 or later or XE
and then it shuts down from the connection automatically.
how can i suppose to do to solve this problem,do i just need to download the database 11g and then to install again in my pc ?

You ahve two option
01. If you have oracle support ID then you can download upgrade patchset for 10.2.0.1.00 and upgrade it to 10.2.x. But I think you dont ahve Oracle support ID and also work is more
02. Download Oracle 11g Rel2 and then install it. Then you can install Apex 4.0.2 version on to that db.

Hi, we are on Oracle 10.2.0.4, Solaris 5.10. Our RMAN catalog is 10.2.0.4 version and we have several 11g databases that need to connect to the catalog and obviously cannot. So we need to upgrade the catalog to 11. Does anyone have any docs on how to do it. Do I need to upgrade RMAN database to 11 via conventional upgrade and then do UPGRADE CATALOG? Really confusing, any help would be very appreciated.

You need to:
1 - upgrade the recovery catalog database
2 - upgrade the recovery catalog Schema
Please check the details on note *452529.1 Recovery catalog for RMAN backup*.
Normally newer databases (target) can be cataloged on previous version catalog database, but with 11g there is the bug 6756872 (RMAN REGISTER OF 11G TARGET INTO 10G CATALOG FAILS WITH ORA-04028) which force you to upgrade the catalog.
You can also review RMAN Compatibility Matrix (Note 73431.1) which has all valid version combinations.
If your scenario is simple enough, another option could be create a new 11g RMAN catalog and register there your databases, without importing data from the 10.2 catalog.
