We are at J2SDk14209. We want to upgrade to the latest j2sdk14212.
what needs to be done on XI side?

Hi,
No change is needed on the XI as such.
Just install j2sdk1.4.12 and then try to open your IR and ID.
Just take a back up of the CACHE folder of your JWS in case there is some issue in downloading the Jar files.

You can also compile it and modify the target installation directory during the compilation.

Hi Priya..
You don't need downtime to change permissions...
You can run "/sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saproot.sh" script as ROOT user to set the permissions on Kernel Directory.
OR
Do as follow:
# chown -R irqadm:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe
# chmod -R 755 irqadm:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe
# chmod 4755 /sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saposcol
# chown root:sapsys /sapmnt/IRQ/exe/saposcol
After that don't forget to set the permissions of BRTools (brbackup, brrestore, brarchive, brspace etc.) according to below note.

LabVIEW 7 files will automatically open with LabVIEW 8, you don't need to do anything special.

If you are a developer, or have a similar personality, there is an aftermarket EFI-64 "work-alike" program you can load into memory instead of 64-bit firmware. It is too complicated for regular folks.
You must already have upgraded your Memory and your graphics card to use this solution, and your Mac will not operate quite normally. Any problems with it are unsupported.

My Applet start failed due to security warning after upgrading java version

We have an application where we read the weight from the attached weighing Scale (Hardware device).
For this we use one Applet which runs and reads the data.
Now we upgraded the Java version from 1.6 to 1.7 and started encountering a security alert 'Running unsigned applications like this will be blocked in a future release because it is potentially unsafe and a security risk'.
Our application runs on a HTP port not on HTTPS because this is installed in client premise and no risk in opening HTTP port internally.
Could you please help us in resolving the issue. We don't want to see the alert even after upgrading the Java version.

Hi Rajesh ,
First of all be aware that not all versions of 10.1.3 AS are certified with JDK 6, you need to have at least 10.1.3.4 .
Next, you can either upgrade the JDK for the whole AS, or just for oc4j_soa component.
There are several docs on Metalink that explain how to do this, and I recommend to take a backup of your OH before changing the JDK .
Suppose you already have JDK 6 installed , just edit opmn.xml and add the line
<data id="java-bin" value="/usr/jdk1.6.0/bin/java"/> <--- here put the path to your JDK
just below
<category id="start-parameters">
of the oc4j_soa component.
If you have problems just restore the old opmn.xml from backup and you;ll have back your original settings.

Well the JDK you specified during installation was consumed during installation process. Now when OIM is started in sync with the JBoss, it reads the JAVA_HOME environment variable. So just update your environment variable JAVA_HOME to point to this new JDK.
OIM Server invokes the xlStartServer.bat which in turn invokes the run.bat, wherein the logic for JAVA_HOME handling is specified. Just see if you want to relate and know more and do as I told above.

Stop All Application Tier Services
Replace JDK Home Used With Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
$ cd [IAS_ORACLE_HOME]/appsutil
$ mv jdk jdk_old
$ mv jdk1.6.0_15 jdk
After that when i tried to do any thin starting the services, autoconfig it gives me below error.
$ADJVAPRG -version
Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
Do i need to update any values in XML file?
Please help.

How to check Java Version while showing applet in browser?

Hello All,
We have an application which has client and server mechanism.
Our application can be accessed by any internet browser on any machine of the network but there is only one server in the network.
One of the functionality in the application is described below.
We do have one link in our application webpage. When user clicks on that link, the request goes to the server component which is running on different machine. Now server process the request and in responce we do show some images in applet window at the customer webpage.
Now problem is, when the client machine browser has some lower version of Java, we are not able to show the image but only shows a blank page.
What we want to do is to show some specific warning message when we find that the Java version at client machine is lower than required.
Can anybody please let me know how can I achieve this?
