  • How to Upgrade datasources from 3x to 7x versions

    Hi Experts
How to Upgrade datasources from 3x to 7x versions.
I am planning to upgrade exisisting 3x data sources which are used in data loading are there any risks involved in upgrade
    Thanks

    Hi,
When you migrate a 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) in an original system, the system generates a DataSource (R3TR RSDS) with a transport connection. The 3.x DataSource is deleted, along with the 3.x metadata object mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS), which are dependent on it. If a PSA and InfoPackages (R3TR ISIP) already exist for the 3.x DataSource, they are transferred to the migrated DataSource, along with the requests that have already been loaded. After migration, only the specifications about how data is loaded into the PSA are used in the InfoPackage.
You can export the 3.x objects, 3.x DataSource, mapping and transfer structure during the migration so that these objects can be restored. The collected and serialized objects are stored in a local table (RSDSEXPORT).
You can now transport the migration into the target system.
When you import the transport into the target system in the after-import, the system migrates the 3.x DataSource (R3TR ISFS) (as long as it is available in the target system) to a local DataSource (R3TR RSDS), without exporting the objects that are to be deleted. The 3.x DataSource, mapping (R3TR ISMP) and transfer structure (R3TR ISTS) objects are deleted and the related InfoPackages are migrated. The data in the DataSource (R3TR RSDS) is transferred to the PSA.

  • How to upgrade eSourcing from version 5.1.8 Patch 3 to 5.1.8 Patch 4

Please some one can guide me How to upgrade eSourcing from version 5.1.8 Patch 3 to 5.1.8 Patch 4 since i am new in CLM.

    Hello Gadewar,
First of all make sure you read all the details given in the Upgrade Guide located at "Installation and Upgrade Guide"->SAP SRM->SAP E-Sourcing 5.1/SAP CLM 2.0->E-Sourcing 5.1/CLM 2.0 Component Upgrade Guide PDF at service.sap.com/support website.
Note you need to have the support account to login to that website.
How ever I am listing down basic steps required for upgrade below.
    1) Download the installables from the website I did mention above, have DB jar, have custom jar (optional).
    2) Take backup of the DB.
    3) Take backup of Config folder. Also take backup of the <home Dir>/Lib if you have some customizations in the form of JARS.
    3) Make sure the userid which is used for connection to DB have the required permission like CONNECT, RESOURCE, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE etc. It is given in the guide I mentioned above in section 4.1 Verify Privileges of Oracle Service Account.
    4) Stop ESO instance and run the setup and then upgrade scripts.
    5) Undeploy the old ESO application from App server and then deploy new .EAR from new <home dir>/fsapp on the app server.
    6) Start the app server and your ESO will be ready. You may need to use Workbooks to upload Localized Resources. This is the case if you have modified some OOTB localized resources in the past as a part of customization and have not used the overrides to give new resource values. If you have used overrides for localized resources in the past then you are good and need not to load the workbook.
Again usage of Workbook depends on the requirement to requirement. You may need to use workbook based upon your business needs.
Make sure you have not modified any OOTB query definitions as a part of customizations, if that is the case you will loose those query definitions as upgrade scripts overrides OOTB queries and then you should backup those as well before upgrade and then you may re-pull them after upgrade.

  • How to upgrade software from 10.5 to 10.6

Hi I have a black macbook from 2008 and currently run 10.5.8. But I want to upgrade to a snow leopard. How can I do this? I tried inserting the CD but it just quit saying that it cannot be installed.

Do you have the retail disk that looks like this?
Or gray disks that look like this?
Those gray disks will only work with the Mac model that they shipped with.

  • How to upgrade tracks from NetWeaver 7.0 to 7.3?

    Hello!
I'm trying to create a Web dynpro 7.3 track from a 7.0 track. It's for a sandbox install of 7.3 so I don't want to change the current track or SC but I want to include all my developed code for testing purposes.
I've read about track migration here:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/8061e964-2036-2e10-ee9d-ef21d174fdd9?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    and here:
    Migrating/Upgrading NWDI from 7.0 to CE 7.1
but it's missing some important information. How do I get my current code into the new track? It just says "Import your SCs and required SCs in the new track in NetWeaver 7.3".
My old track is called Extern and contains a SC called ExternSC. The new track is called Portal73 but which SC should it contain?
I can't check in my old SC without adding a dependecy to it.
Should I create a new Extern73SC with dependency to the old one? Then it wants to check in the old 7.0 dependencies as well.
I want to be able to create projects from the old DCs so they can be migrated to 7.3 as well.
The forum thread above suggest changing the dependencies of the current SC to 7.3 components  and add that to the new track, but that would break my current 7.0 track, right? I tried to make a new version of the SC with the same name but I still couldn't import the existing code.
Is there a more complete source for track migration?
Please help me if you can

    Thank you for your answer!
Just to make sure I do this correctly.
I have a product called ExternProd (1.0), and an existing SC called ExternSC (1.0) that belongs to the product.
Do I need to create a new product version as well?
    Otherwise I do this:
In Software catalog in SLD on the NWDI i click "new software component version"
In the dialog box I select ExternProd 1.0, unit Extern 1.0, enter vendor, name ExternSC and version 2.0 and click create.
I define dependencies to SAP SCs but NOT to ExternSC 1.0.
Now if i go to the product I see two software units for ExternProd 1.0.
I add ExternSC 2.0 to my track and then I should be able to forward the old SC and import it in development, or should it be exported and checked in?
    Is this what you meant?

  • How to unregister Macbook from one apple-id and register to an other

I have an iphone and an ipad with my own apple-id. My son bought me a macbook but installed and registered it with his own apple-id, instead of with mine.
I want to unregister the macbook from my son's apple-id and registers it with my apple-id, so I can synchronize with icloud all my devices.
    I did some investigation.
Till now evenhow I see two ways and I am not sure which one to choose.
    1. On the Macbook I can go to supportprofile.apple.com. This is the My Support Profile of my son. I can remove the Macbook here. Now I can do the same on my ipad with my apple-id and add and register the Macbook as a new product.
    2. On the Macbook I can go to Itunes>Store>Show account and remove the Macbook here. Now remove the authorization of my son in Itunes>Store>Remove authorization and then add the authorization of my apple-id.
The second way seems me a little more complete but I am not sure. I found the information here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627?viewlocale=nl_NL&locale=nl_NL and here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420?viewlocale=nl_NL
I am also not sure if I am complete with all the steps.
I hope anybody can inform and help me with this problem and maybe mention risks.
I have a dutch Macbook with Lion, so maybe the terms are not totaly equivalent to the English terms in the menu's.

You have to do both things: remove the MacBook Air from his Apple ID in http://supportprofile.apple.com and add it to your Apple ID, and deauthorize the Mac from the iTunes Store. This should be enough.
After authorizing your Mac with your Apple ID, open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and accept all the listed apps, which should be iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand. If the Mac was purchased after October 1st, you can also accept Keynote, Pages and Numbers

  • How to upgrade Tomcat from 5.5 to 6.0 on BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP5

    Hi,
I have recently installed BOE Enterprise XI 3.1 SP5 on SLES11.
Tomcat 5.5 has been installed as part of the Installation.
    JVM 1.5 was also installed.
Now since Tomcat 5 is in End of Life support, hence it has been marked as a security risk by the scans performed.
I need to upgrade Tomcat from 5.5 to 6.0.
I am looking for relevant documentation as I couldn't find any official guide for it.
Can someone help me out here with the official documentation on tomcat upgrade.
    Regards,
    Puneet

    Dear Puneet,
Here are the steps to upgrade from Tomcatxx to Tomcat yy:
The below steps are for upgrading default 5.5.20 tomcat to a higher
    incremental release of tomcat.
This method is not intended in an upgrade from default 5.5.20 to a major
release version such as tomcat 6 or 7.
    Stop the Tomcat
Run the script ./tomcatshutdown.sh in bobje directory.
    Rename bobje/Tomcat to tomcat_bak.Command: mv bobje/Tomcat
    tomcat_bak
Download tomcat 5.5.xx core tgz file from Apache website to bobje/tomcat and
extract using the command: tar -xvf tgz filename
    Create new folder apache-tomcat-5.5.xx.Command:mkdir apache-tomcat-5.5.xx
Rename folder apache-tomcat-5.5.xx to Tomcat55 using the move command
Go to the deployment directory which is one level above bobje.
Run the script ./wdeploy.sh tomcat55 deployall
    Message:"Build Successful"
Run the script ./tomcatstartup.sh to start the Tomcat.

  • How to upgrade system from serial communication to parallel communication

    Hi,
I am working on Lab VIEW 8.5.In my project I am using ADAM cards(7) for analog/digital inputs/outputs. Communication is done via RS 232 serial cable. Right now my system is working fine, but if i want to make it more fast i will need to use parallel communication right? Because Simultaneous inputs and outputs are processed. How much my communication file will change? Which card i should use?
How to upgrade system? On which factors it depends or it affects? I need guide lines.
    Thank you

Do not forget to Mark solution and to give Kudo if problem is solved.

    Hi
In your setup you have a ADAM 4250 RS232/485 repeater talking with 7 instruments in a network. Each instrument have a unique address, and you can only address 1 instrument at a time. If you need more speed you have to insert more ADAM 4250 units in your system and more RS232 ports on the PC. Identical ADAM instruments may receive commands over the same communication line, but transmit data on a unique communication line. You can not use the parallel port in your setup at all. This is not a Labview problem but a hardware problem. If speed is critical maybe the Ethernet I/O Modules: ADAM-6000 series are better for your setup
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • HT1338 How to upgrade MacBook Pro from OS 10.5 (Leopard) to Mountain Lion?

How do I upgrade a MacBook Pro from OS 10.5 (Leopard) to Mountain Lion?  Do I need to upgrade in stages, i.e. to Snow Leopard, then to Lion, then to Mountain Lion, or can it be a more direct route?
    R.

    Hi Richard,
You need at least 10.6.6 installed to get & use the App store for purchase & download, & just read that Lion/10.7 is no longer available!???
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they might still have it...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
It's been reported that if you have a MobileMe account, it may be free from Apple.
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory, I say 6 GB
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, I say 50 GB.
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.

    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Macs that will support OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
As usual, the newer the Mac the better:
    • MacBook Pro – 13″ from mid 2009 or later, 15″ from late 2007 and newer, 17″ from late 2007 and newer
    • MacBook Air – late 2008 and newer
    • iMac – models from mid 2007 and newer
    • MacBook – 13″ aluminum from 2008, 13″ from 2009 and newer
    • Mac Mini – early 2009 and newer
    • Mac Pro – early 2008 models and newer
    • XServe – early 2009 models and newer
Macs that are NOT expected to support OS X Mountain Lion
Older Macs and those with weaker GPU’s will likely be left behind:
    • Anything with an Intel GMA 950 or x3100 integrated graphics card
    • Anything with an ATI Radeon X1600
    • MacBook models released prior to 2008
    • Mac Mini released prior to 2007
    • iMac models released prior to 2007
    • Original MacBook Air
This list of compatible and incompatible Macs and system requirements are based off of the first OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview and may be subject to change, we will update when we learn more about the specifics. OS X Mountain Lion will be released this summer but presumably long before that we will know precise system requirements and what Macs are and are not supported by the new version of OS X. Stay tuned.

I want to make sure that whatever I need to buy won't mess up the way my computer runs. It runs perfectly at the moment. I have run the software update feature on my comp and there are no updates. i cant get past 10.5.8. what is the best solution ?

  • How to upgrade Macbook with Leopard OS.

I have an older Mac Book. I upgraded my iphone 4s to ios6 but now my itunes isn't compatible because they've stopped making updates for my computer. My Macbook is running on Leopard. How can I upgrade my computer so I can get updates on my itunes.

You have to upgrade to 10.6.8 to be able to download iTunes 10.7. The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.
