How to upgrade memory expansion on Satellite A100-192

please i need help because i can't take the cover off to install the memory expansion. thanks in advance.

Hi
I dont know why you are not able to remove this cover but it should be secured only with one screw and after removing of this screw you should simply remove this cover which was placed in the middle of the bottom.
Thats all. There is no magic key.

  • Question about POWERPLAY status on Satellite A100-192

I have an Satellite A100-192 notebook with Mobility Radeon X1600 card.
In POWERPLAY Status it always shown as the adapter is "plugged in", also when I use the laptop with battery and the current profile is "Optimal Performance".
    So what is the problem?

    Hi
I see on the picture that the Power Play in not enabled.
In my opinion you can use either the Toshiba power saver or the ATI power play options.
The same happens with Windows own power options. This options are disabled and dont work if the Toshiba power saver is installed on the OS.
Ok, this is only my opinion and if you want you can test it.

  • DVD drive model name of Satellite A100-192

what is exact model name of dvd drive on satellite a100-192?
can you please check it from device manager?

Try to download the user manual for this notebook.
The user manual you will find on the Toshiba page.
There you will find the drives which are delivered with the Satellite A100.
But you have to consider that it depends on the notebook which drive is installed.
The GMA-4082N should be a Hitachi-LG Data storage DVD super Mulit +-R Double layer

  • Memory expansion on Satellite 2410

    Hi
I am planning to expand the memory of my Satellite 2410-601. It has 256 MB DDR at present. I am planning on using one more 256 memory module to expand the total memory to 512 MB.
What I would like to know is whether I can use any of the DDR memory modules available in market? Would there be any compatibility issues?

    Hi
    Do you know this site?
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=5548&ft=m&st=3
Here you can find the details about compatible memory modules for Satellite 2410-601.
It seems that the notebook is able to handle the 200-Pin PC2100 (266MHz) DDR SODIMM memory modules!!!
You could upgrade the memory up to max 1GB (2x 512MB)
    >Would there be any compatibility issues?
Generally you shouldnt have any compatibility issues. Its only important that you use the supported modules.

  • Memory expansion for Satellite 1110-Z15 laptop

    Hi,
I would like to upgrade the memory in my Satellite 1110-Z15 laptop and have been trying to find a list of approved memory manufacturers from toshiba, with no luck.
Does anyone know of any approved manufacturers for toshiba laptops as i cannot find the type of memory required on the toshiba electronic components site?
    Thanks,
    Sherbert

    Hello Sherbert
I have found information that your notebook can handle with 512 Mb max. I suppose that your unit has 256 MB already. You can use second 256 MB module and put it in a second slot.
Part number for 256 MB memory module is PA3127U-1M25.

  • How to connect external speakers to Satellite A100-451

    Hello,
I have a Satellite A100-451 (UK) running Vista. I want to connect external speakers. There is a 'headphones' jack on the front (3.5mm jack I think), can I connect external speakers here? The speakers are 'PC Line' with their own power supply and also have a 3.5mm jack plug).
    Thanks
    KK

You need the audio Line-out put and the headphone jack provides this output.
In other words you can use this jack to connect the external speakers

  • Fn Key does not work in Vista on a Satellite A100-192

After Vista Installation Fn Key don't work.
HotKey Utility and other tools are installed (in recommended order), but when Vista start appears Error message: "Start HotKey Utility failed".
    All other device is working.

    Hello Kat
I have the same notebook. It is Satellite A100-504 delivered with WXP. It is different number (504) but the same hardware configuration and number PSAA9E. I have preinstalled Vista last week successfully and everything works fine.
Do you use Toshiba Vista upgrade installations DVD or you have own Vista DVD?
Anyway, I have installed clean Vista OS (using Microsoft installations CD). After doing this I have visited Toshiba download page and at first downloaded document called Installations Instructions.
Please do the same and install all listed stuff in the listed order. That is very important. After doing this Vista should run well and also all Toshiba designed tools and utilities.
BTW: power saver utility is not like before under WXP. Now notebook uses Vista power settings.

  • Satellite A100-192 (PSAA9E) FN+F8 key not working after updating BT driver

I've just download the update for the Bluetooth driver "blt-mon-20071009150856" and install the "BtMon2Inst_v212" driver on my A100-192 (PSAA9E). after the installation of "Toshiba Bluetooth 4" driver the BT works fine.
BUT I can't use the wireless key (FN+F8) anymore to switch between Bluetooth and the Wireless device. I can disable/enable them only from the control panel or the ConfigFree utility.
Any idea how to bring the FN key back to life?
    tnx.

    >I have just check a strange thing - when the WLAN switch is off, if I press the FN+F8 it >DOES respond and telling me that "Wireless communication is disabled, Please turn on >the wireless communication switch" all the other FN keys works.
Described issue is definitely not strange. It is logic that you can not switch between WLAN/BT if the hardware is disabled. This function is the same for years and the same happen on all older notebooks.
I have two notebooks and both with WLAN/BT and if the WLAN driver and BT stack are preinstalled properly there should not be any problems. If the WLAN switch is set to ON you should be able to use both devices. Check also options in ConfigFree

  • Memory expansion for Satellite A200-23W

Wonder if i can upgrade the memory (now 2 x 2GB in 667) with two others in 800 mhz..

    Hello
You can upgrade the RAM with 800 MHz modules but as far as I know this will not improve the speed and the RAM will only run at 667 MHz.
The reason for this is that the chipset doesnt support 800 MHz.
The Satellite A200-23W supports up to 4GB so any upgrades are not necessary.

  • Question about memory expansion on Satellite A80-117

I have a question regarding the memory compatibility.
(The A8-117 is a 1.6 GHz Centrino (Pentuin M processor 730) with 533 MHz FSB, and 2 MB of 2nd level cache, Intel® 915GM Express chipset)
At the moment i have 1 chip of 512MB (333MHz, CL 2.5) installed. I plan to upgrade to 1.5 or 2GB. So what bothers me is: can I install a 533MHz DDR2 modules on this laptop (in that case the old 333MHz one goes out)?
At the official Toshiba site only 333MHz DDR are provided, while the 915GM express chipset allowes it.
If 533 is not possible i guess i'll just buy additional 1GB of 333MHz DDR.
    Thanks in advance!
    Bostjan

    Hello
At first I want to say that is always recommended to use compatible and tested RAM modules. On this way you will be sure it will work well and without any problems.
According the notebook specification you can upgrade RAM to 2GB max and compatible modules are: PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-2M51) and PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-2M1G).
You can use faster RAM modules but for me it is really not necessary. The notebook specification is 333MHz bus speed and faster modules will not help that notebook runs faster. It is better to buy 2 x PA3313U-2M1G and you will have no problem and notebook will runs much much faster than before.

  • Re: How to upgrade memory on Qosmio G30-201 and where to buy memory

    Hi,
I have a Qosmio G30-201, with the following spec:
    - Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor T7400- Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition- 400 (200 + 200) GB Hard Disk Drive- 2,048 (1,024+1,024) MB DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)- 17" Toshiba TruBrite WUXGA TFT display- HD DVD-ROM drive
    Running under Vista Ultimate
I would like to upgrade the memory to 4096.
Do I have to buy 4096 of memory, or can I add 2048?
What memory do i buy? Toshiba do not seem to sell MB DDR2 RAM (533 MHz) after 4 years. What other memory would be suitable?
    Many thanks,
    Best regards
    Nick

Your notebook can handle with 4GB of RAM and I recommend you to use 2 x 2GB module.
Compatible 2 GB module has part number PA3513U-1M2G or Kingston KTT667D2/2G.
Put the part umber in Google and you will find a place where you can order it in your country.

  • Satellite A100-192: Is it possible to achieve more then stereo sound?

    Hi
Is it possible to achieve more then stereo with this laptop?
I have a 5.1 Creative analog speakers, i know there is no way to connect all of them, but as there are 2 jacks i could connect it as 2.1.
Is there any tool that would allow me to connect subwoofer to mic jack?
If not then how to make use of the Realtek HD?
I guess it's a High Definition not High Defeat.
    Best regards
    Krystian

    Hi
As far as I know the audio line out jack S/PDIF is not available on this unit.
You can use the headphone jack to connect for example the HiFi to your notebook.
Additional the notebook has a preinstalled application called Toshiba Virtual Sound.
This program aworks as a audio filer using SRS TRUsurround XT, SRS WOW HD and SRS Circle Surround Xtract functions.
The audio filter enables you to enjoy the sound and music of better quality on your notebook.

  • Satellite A100-192: Is there any way to add DVI port

    hello
is there any way to add dvi port to this laptop ?
display card is ati mobility radeon x1600 so the chipset
supports dvi and analog component output
is there any way to add dvi port
or component signal output over d-sub port ?
    tia

As Dennis already said, you cannot upgrade the motherboard t get the DVI port but you could buy an 3rd party PCMCIA card which supports such port!!!
Google a little bit and you should find some nice offers.
But such cards are not cheap! So finally its your choice ;)

  • Drive is not reading any discs on my Satellite A100-192

    Hi,
today i wanted to watch a dvd movie, i've inserted the disc into the drive and waited for an autostart to play...nut nothing happened.
Drive LED is on all the time and i can't access the drive in windows. I've tried with several original dvd discs and one blank cd /i've got nothing else in here/.
    What could cause this problem?
I've tried it in Windows XP and Vista Beta 2 :/
    Best regards,
    Krystian

    Hi
One question: Did you use the Toshiba recovery CD? If not, please check if this issue appears on the Toshiba image.
If you dont get any auto start messages after DVD inserting into the drive so I would firstly check the settings.
Please make a right click on to the drive icon. Then please select the AutoPlay tab.
There you can choose the dvd movie and select an action. Otherwise you can enable the option prompt me each time to choose an action
If this doesnt help so you can also try to remove the drive from the device manager. After this procedure please reboot the unit. The OS should recognize the drive again. Then try to play DVDs again
