More than one year ago I purchased a retail CS5 production suite...
is it availabe a CS5.5 free upgrade (i know in the past the upgrade to CS5.5 from CS5 was free....but now i can't found nothing on adobe forum)

How do I go about doing this and what is the cost? I don't want any of this monthly plan nonsense I've seen floating around and tech support for Adobe is terrible. They keep putting me in a loop of questions online that don't answer anything and then tell me to go ask other people on forums. Why can't they have the kind of support Godaddy has? Upgrading from 'Apple Production Suite' to 'Final Cut Studio' ???

I have tried to upgrade Motion1 within 'Apple Production Suite' to Motion2 within FCS without installing the any of the other FCS applications such as FCP, DVDSP, ST.
The end result is that the Motion2 app have sucessfully installed and over written the previous Motion1 but I can not open Motion2 and begin working with it? The Motion icon bounces on clicking it but just doesn't open the application.
Do I need to overwrite the whole of current 'APS' that I'm using with the newer 'FCS' for Motion2 to open and work?

uninstall FCS and reinstall. you can leave your projects. it's just works better if you do a fresh install.

How to Upgrade AE CS5 to CS6

So I've convinced my boss to buy me an upgrade - thing is our network guys aren't going to let me get CC until Adobe can resolve some of it's authentication issues.
I currently have CS5. I downloaded and installed a trial of Master CS6. They've bought me Production Prem CS6. I'm on Mac Mavericks.
Not sure how this works now. I'll need to hold on to InDesign and Dreamweaver CS5. So my question is - should I just wipe the HD and start over? Or can I just authorize the Pro Prem set and uninstall the CS6 programs that don't come with the Pro Prem? On windows I would totally start over - but this mac seems to be handling CS5 and CS6 stuff side by side...

Different version, different license, separate installs. This has never been any different - neither Windows nor Mac. There is no requirement, at least from a technical POV, to jump hoops. "Clean installs" are an urban myth, anyway.

I believe that Adobe has recently released upgrades to Lightroom and CS6 that make them compatible with the retina screen. First of all, is this correct and secondly, if I have Lr3 and CS5, how do I upgrade? I know it's a dumb question.

Or for $50 per month on a one year subscription you get ll the applications on the cloud which is everything in the master collection plus a couple but you can purchase you Illustrator upgrade and then if you need any one of the other apps temporarily you can always get those month to month for $30 per month per application.
So say you need Photoshop Cs 6 for only a few days you can paay $30 and then not use it any more until you need it again in the future but you have to pay another $30 for that month. It is a good deal if you only need it one or two months a year.

I was going to upgrade from CS5 to CS7 but there is only CC now. Do I get CS6 stand alone applications if I subscribe to CC, if so do I need to subscribe to an annual subscription?

You don't get "standalone" apps when you subscribe to CC. You can join now to get the CS6 versions as long as the CC (CS7) versions are not ready, but that's about it.

I've looked around the internet for this, and results are hard to find and not really clear. I need to know if the CS5.5 Production Suite will run on OS X 10.9. It's essential that a number of these are compatible, the ones I use the most often:
Illustrator CS 5.1
Photoshop CS 5.1
After Effects CS 5.5
Premiere CS 5.5
Audition CS 5.5
I've heard something that Photoshop can run if the user installs some previous version of Java, but I'm not sure how true that is. Anything else about the specific ones listed above? Anyone get the 5.5 versions to work under Mavericks?
I'm being forced to upgrade to 10.9 because I need to upgrade from Cubase 5 to 7.5- which unfortunately, is not compatible with Snow Leopard (10.6.8), which is what I'm currently running. If I can't run CS5.5, then I guess I'll be forced to spend another 400 bucks on an upgrade to CS6. I'm a student in college, so I can't readily afford that, and I can't afford to lose access to this software either.

If there was a definitive answer to this, you would have found it. Sorry, but you will just have to muddle through. The results are so unclear and even contradictory because everyone's upgrade path is different, they use different Macs and all that... You won't know if it works until you try.

I have the student edition of CS5 Production Premium suite and Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Windows and I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade it to the CS6 Master Collection. If there is, how much would it cost? I would like to get InDesign and Dreamweaver. Or would it be easier to try to buy the two programs separate?
