How to upgrade my monthly allowance

Hi All, I have BT Option 1 broadband and 10gb/month just isnt cutting it for me, however, when I try to upgrade my BT Allowance, it tries taking me to a new account page where its going to send me out a new router and have some technician to come over to set it up. I don't need that, all I want to know is how can I just upgrade what I currently have (Option 1 with unlimited UK calls)? Surely there has to be a way I'm missing

Hi.
The easiest way is just to phone them up and tell them what you want

    JH_Park,
    Good afternoon!
I definitely understand any disappoint you may be feeling from this situation. Verizon Wireless do not have any such policy regarding a limit of replacements we issue, the warranty is not ours but rather the manufacturer and I apologize for any confusion. I would like to review your account and the concerns you are having with this device. Please send me a direct message for further assistance.
    Thank you!

No, that is not possible. An iPad can only be linked to one iTunes account at a time. For this you should have to reinstall the iPad every time you allow him and reinstall when you get it back. Sorry, but the iPad was designed as a personal device from the ground up and it does not support any kind of multiple users/ multiple accounts.
You can setup your iPad with Parental controls to prevent him from doing any app or in-app purchases and to hide any adult-only content.

  • Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?

After being tricked by the fast talking smoothy helper at Apple store in London to buy a micky mouse ipodtouch (fourth generation) two years ago I am stuck at ios 4.1 and find that all the useful applications need 4.3 or more. So I went to the trouble of letting the macbook stay open all night to load yet another micky mouse version of itunes so that I can upload the more recent version of ios and now (since I don't want to continually have a lot of rubbish on the ipod I disabled the automatic sync "feature") I can only go round in circles  whereby the only real possibility left is to turn on the autosync feature. I have had messages like "your ipod will be completely erased if you proceed" and "do you wish to fiddle another few days with this nasty system, then click on continue" and so on.
Does anyone know how to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3 ios?
That would be great (maybe) because otherwise I will toss this children's waste product on the floor and set up my HD camera to show how easy it is to smash the brightly lit screen into pieces and relieve myself of trash which Apple sell to unsuspecting gullible humans who believe that they are not being tricked by such a nice company who produce shiny colourful gadgets which only work for a month or two before becoming 100% obsolete.
Great to hear from those who have wasted many months of their lives and discovered how to trick the system into doing a simple update operation!
I am insulted by the tricks that fool many and that apple pretend are "necessary".

Illaass, your help is amazing - miles better than anyone working in this part of the world who is paid - and you do this for free - because, like me, you LOVE to help people!
BUT, as I said above -
    1. There is nothing "mobile" under Application Support. For whatever reason.
    2. Devious - that Apple has set up iPod to not show in Finder - a red herring and sign that corruption is visible.
I will try iFunBox next and it sounds like they provide this for the more serious users but use a trivial name to excuse further strangeness.
    After
There are purchased items on the iPod that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating the iPod. Are you sure you want to continue?
    I get

Please do not interrupt the update, which may take an hour or longer to complete.

    and then as above
An error occurred while backing up this iPod (0xE8000084). Would you like to continue to update this iPod?
Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPod.

and so we are back to where we always land - the user is left in the Apple designed sabotage situation which annoyed me so much initially.
"Most users will give up at this point, loose all the data or buy yet another disposable from Apple. Less than 3% will work their way to this site and 90% of the 3% will leave the iPod to gather dust in the hope that someone will help later. In all, Apple gains, since people blame themselves for "mistakes" which Apple programmed to throw out users who do not take the 100% Apple path. But Illaass and myself still play the game of "trying to fix" something which Apple don't allow."  was the comment which I was going to write but decided against it, adding no value to the conversation other than explaining one reality which we all hoped could be wrong but which I thought to have a very high chance of being closer to the truth.
Apologies for my doubts towards the integrity of the creators.

So it looks like I may have lost all the important pictures documenting various items all around Europe for the last two years - luckily I moved a year ago from the iPod toy camera to a Panasonic real camera with SD card which can be read on any computer. Hence important items lost may only be older than one year rather than the most recent items.
Glad I have changed to Panasonic since they don't try to screw you when you don't use their system.
I will now check the "more information" rather than just click on "OK" since I am of the 3% who "don't accept cr*p".
For full information I quote that the iPod now shows a screen with a USB ikon, an upward arrow and an iTunes ikon (all micky mouse language which reduces transparant, clear and technical discussion and thus covers the trail of "where things went wrong").
The iPod is still attached to the computer but the above MMTALK may mean that the iPod should be attached via USB to the mac. I record much of this activity on Video to be able to later prove EXACTLY what occurred, rather than having to rely on screenshots and opinions. We are after all dealing with important items which may later be required to be shown in court, as evidence against fraudsters.
The "More Information" link leads to

And I presume the earlier message about helping Apple is gone because I keep getting interrupted by this message called

    ok
it has appeared now at least six times interferring with anything else I do. Each time I try to write, this message appears and blocks, but only when I write. I tried to do a carriage return and the message appeared taking the carriage return as acceptance of the OK in the

    ok
Message. But since I have not removed the USB and keep returning to this message I am able to write for a few seconds (now 30 seconds or more) and the message remains on the screen but not blocking this conversation. It appears to be random but in fact as you can later see from the video, it is not reappearing each periodic number of seconds but as I reach a new comment.
I will try to close iTunes so that this can be stopped (I clicked on OK and it appeared another few times, each time I clicked on ok and now it has left me in peace to write here although iTunes is still not yet closed).
Difficult to log down all the strange behaviour but I think you can get the gist of what is going on.

Should I remove the iPod and stop iTunes? I have a nasty feeling turning to indifference since I have video footage which will verify all the above in a court of law if later required. The truth must always win over any devious attempts at forcing people to do things they don't want to ;-)

  • 44 gig over monthly allowance... Sjeesh...

We got word that we exceeded 44 gig on our monthly allowance... The previous email stated that we were at 32 gig of 40... Now we have to pay 44 pounds for exceeding.... There is nothing in between 80 percent reached and gone over with 45 gig... Why can't they send an email that we started exceeding if they can send it before we are going to exceed. Furthermore my husband upgraded the minute we got the first 80 percent warning to limitless wifi, it just did not go through which we did not know...
So this morning I get an email to state that we have gone over the allowance with 44 gig, which will be charged at 45 pounds roughly. As far as I know this is the first time we went over as we are pretty new customers. I tried the online chat but that person obviously has a spread sheet with answers that have to be answered to angry customers, and I could not get anywhere. We tried again to upgrade to limitless (which my husband did in july as far as he knows) and this time we did get an order confirmation...  Checking the usage page states that our average usage is 37 gig.
What can I do to not have to pay the 45 extra pounds? I am pretty upset about this all... Is there a way to talk to an in country rep who can give me clear answers instead of reading from a spread sheet?
I thought providers were to by law let people know when they go over at 10 or 15 or 20... The usage policy states that if it is the first time you go over you will not be charged, but how do I confirm this?

First thing to say is that if this really is the first time you have exceeded your limit you should not be charged. A monthly average of 37GB with a 40GB is sailing pretty close to the wind though, and it would have been very easy to break the limit; unfortunately, if you go over once even by a tiny amount you will be liable for charges next time. You seem to have used 84GB last month and clearly need the unlimited package.
If your husband ordered an upgrade when you got the latest warning, that was the right thing to do and it should have avoided the problem. This is a customer to customer help forum and you clearly need to contact BT to get this sorted out.   The best option is to Contact BT Care Team; they are the moderators who monitor this forum and have a good record in solving problems which are beyond other customers. They cannot waive charges willy-nilly, but should be able to find out what happened to your husband's order and ensure that it is put right if something went awry.
You can click the white star next to this message if you think it was helpful.

  • Upgrading mid month

How is upgrading to a higher package mid month handled. Lets say im on a $29 package and half way through the month i decide to upgrade, do i start the new monthly subscription from that date and essentially forfeit the other half of my subscription. As far as im aware with dropbox when you upgrade half way through you get a refund on the other 50% you didnt use that is deducted from the price of the new upgrade. Does adobe do something similar.

    Hi Morny1979888,
Ratandeep's answer would still apply outside of the 30 days. In some cases you would be able perform the process yourself see Switch from an individual membership to a teams membership here:
Cancel your membership or subscription | Creative Cloud
Any other scenario's which involved an upgrade, you could contact support and they would assist with the process and ensure you weren't charged fees when switching.

The last time I checked an Apple Store may have been a month or two ago, but not only did they not have any Snow Leopard DVDs, they had no DVDs, CDs, or any other kind of Ds of anything whatsoever. I asked.
Get it. Its predecessor OS, Leopard, is not available from anyone, anywhere, for anything less than a King's ransom. That's a hint.

  • HT4623 How do upgrade my iOS on an older iPad?

How do I upgrade an older iPad so I can get the directtv app?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
        1.    Go into the iPad's Settings.
        2.    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
        3.    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
        4.    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
        5.    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
        1.    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
        2.    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
        3.    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
        4.    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
        5.    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
        6.    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
        7.    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
        8.    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply; it doesn't add anything as RSA6 was one of the options I listed and this was my fall back option if there was no other special treatment for the COPA datasources.
I have found out why this, and other fields, are not available in KEB0.  The program uses a Function called KERA_COPA_METADATA_INTERFACE within which there is a section that selects the COPA fields:

  • How many  installs of Aperture allowed?

A while back I downloaded the Trial Version of Aperture 2.1.2 onto my G5, then subsequently bought the full version which was also a download. Entered the serial number & I was on my way.
Now I've bought a MacBook Pro and would like to install Aperture on it so as to Upgrade to version 3 at some point in the near future. My question is how many computers are you allowed to have Aperture on? When I try to enter the serial number after installing the Trial on the MBP the registration is not accepting it. My only options are to Quit or continue using it in Trial mode for 30 days. Can anyone shed some light on getting Aperture legitimately onto my MacBook Pro?

    buzwah wrote:
Would I be better to try to update the 2.1.2 to the last version 2.1.4 and then try the serial number?
Yes, that is what I would try.
You may also need to install the ProKit 6.0.1:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1318
Here is another link that you might need to use due to your already trying to launch 2.1.2 which will have you move the file to the desktop (to the best of my knowledge this file holds the serial number info):

For Aperture 2, I recall the file is named something different but similar at the same time as the 'Aperture System ID' - sorry it's been a while since I ran the trial of that version.
