How to upgrade oracle 6i

Hi,
We have oracle 6i in window 98, when I tried to open the REPORT BUILDER from the program, I got a error message:
This program was design for window 95, or window 98. you need to install an upgrade version.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Jun

In your title you mentioned Oracle apps, If you're talking about Oracle Applications, for any upgrade you should talk with support and coordinate with them.
As for upgrades for Oracle Forms, a simple compile would do and you can visit the Forms Upgrade center in the Forms home page on OTN.

  • How to upgrade Oracle iFS 9.0.1 to  Oracle Collaboration 10G ?

    Dear experts,
I am looking a way to upgrade 9iFS 9.0.1 to the recent Content Management service(CMS) of Oracle Collaboration Suite 10G (10.1.2).
Can someone tell me how to do this?
I read the Oracle Collaboration Suite 10G installation guide, it indicated that the upgrade path from Collaboration 9.0.3.1, 9.0.4.1 or 9.0.4.2 to 10.1.2 are supported.
I also read the CMS installation guide fro CMS 9.0.3, and 9.0.4, 9.0.4.2, they indictae that indicated that upgrade from iFS 9.01. to CMS 9.0.3, CMS 9.0.4 or CMS 9.0.4.2 are supported.
But I couldn't fins information about how to upgrade Oracle 9iFS or CMS to Oracle Files (Collbaoration Suite 9i R1) 9.0.3 or R2 (9.0.4).
    My questions are
    1. Is Oracle Files 9.0.3 same as CMS 9.0.3?
    2. If they are different, How Can I upgrade 9iFS 9.0.1 to Oracle Files 9.0.3? so I can continue to upgrade to OCS 10g R2?
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have been looking the OTN, but I couldn't find a document about upgrade from

I think you should contact ORacle support on that point.

what are the consideration we have to take initially.1. Install the 10.2.0.4.0 patchset on top of 10.2.0.X.0 ORACLE_HOME
    Patchset number is : 6810189
    2. Finish the post installation steps as per the patchset README (patch_note.htm)

  • How to upgrade Oracle BPEL PM

    Dear experts,
Is it possible to upgrade Oracle BPEL PM 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.4 or we have to reinstall from beginning.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 is a base version and 10.1.3.4 is a patchset that needs to be applied on top of 10.1.3.1.0.
So. when you start the 10.1.3.4 patchset OUI, you need to give the 10.1.3.1.0 OH path, so that 10.1.3.4 gets applied on this existing OH.
Now, your SOA will be 10.1.3.4 version. Please follow the readme of 10.1.3.4 before applying the 10.1.3.4 patchset.

  • How to upgrade oracle 32 to 64 bit on sun solaris x86 64 bit OS?

    Hi,
I want to upgrade/convert 32 bit Oracle Database 10.2.0.2 to 64 bit database. Existing 32 bit database is RAC and it is running on Sun Solaris X86 64 bit OS.
First, I want to know is it possible?
If yes, then what are the exact steps?

    Hi,
Such a migration can be done, just follow the steps in Metalink note 62290.1
It is important to remember that 64-bit database requires more shared pool memory so you should increase your shared pool size.

  • How to upgrade from OCS 904 to 10g but not upgrading Oracle Files

    Hi All,
We have installed OCS 904 from where we only are using:
    - Portal
    - Oracle Files
Our idea is to upgrade this installation to OCS 10g but keeping the same version of Oracle Files (we don't want to migrate to content services for the moment).
Is this possible? or if we want to keep Oracle Files we need to do a fresh install of OCS 10g in another location?
    Thanks in advance,

    >I want to upgrade it from RHEL 6 TO  RHEL 7 and from ORACLE 11G TO ORACLE 12C. I wonder if anyone could suggest the best url for for upgrading accordingly.
which metric measures best? Fewest keystrokes?
BTW - you are actually doing 2 upgrades. You are upgrading OS & you are upgrading Oracle version.
So you can either over then up or up then over.
How much down down time is available?
How much risk do you want to include?

  • How to upgrade to Oracle Forms 9?

I want to know how to upgrade from Forms 6 to Forms 9! Is there any script delivered by Oracle which has this functionality? Please help me!

    Axheim ,
    There are some batch scripts.
But here what I did to upgrade Forms from previous version to the current version.
Install new version (9i DS) on the same box in separate oracle home.OR you can install in another box.
And opened the forms from the previous version in new Form builder (in ur case 9i). Save it, compile it and generate FMX.
    Ctrl plus Shift plus K,
Ctrl plus T will generate FMX.
    And you done.
Pl. remember once you opened fmb in latest version you can not go back.
    So backup your old version.
I assumed each Form is compiled successfully in your previous version (6i), if not then you'll get errors in 9i also. Fix in 6i first and then move or fix in 9i.

    Diana
