How to upload an Image in the front end application

Hi friends,
I have a requirement in the sense, soon after i login into the application with the username and password....
I will be having an file browse item, in which i need only to upload the images, soon after selecting the picture and if i give upload means, the picture has to populate immediately above the browse item in the front end itself......
How to achieve it friends, i dont have idea in uploading the images in the front end itself......
for example: suppose if i want my photo to keep in the front end Soon after i login into the application means, i will select my picture from the file browse item and immediately after giving upload button, i has to come above the browse field in the front end itself.........
Inorder for getting the image in the front, whether i need to create a separate region where the image has to come soon after given the upload button....
help me friends, how to achieve it from the scratch........

On the Branching page enter &APP_PAGE_ID. for the Branch to Page field and click Create Button. Remember the ending period!i couldnt understand what he is trying to say over there......Can you explain that point by going through that link clearly...Whether he is asking me to create what....

How to upload files/images to the database from a form.

I'm making a custom user profile form.
The users can update their profile in this form.
I cannot use the standard profile form, because the customer got very specific
demands about the context of the profile form.
In this custom profile form the user must be able to upload an image
from their hard disk(just like in the standard profile form).
I've got the following questions about uploading pictures:
- How do I make a button to show the explorer window.
- how do I get the chooses file-name in a field.
- how do I get the new file in the database.
- how do I get rid of an old file in the database.
- how do I get the image on the form.
Or is there a special portal way to upload images/files in a form.
Does anyone have a clue?

Hi,
Regular Portal forms will support upload of images/documents to the database. Just identify your column as a blob, and the 'Browse' button will automatically show up in the form and the users will get to choose the file they want to upload from their desktop.
The thing is, I haven't been able to figure out how to get that document/image back out of the database (e.g. in a report), once it's put in. Maybe someone else can answer that.

How to upload a image for the login with my user?

When I open system preferences and I go to users and groups; I can't upload a new image for the login.. how I can upload a new one? Sorry for my english, I'm Italian

Your English is a lot better than many who post here.
Click on your picture, select 'Recents', and you should be able to copy and paste a new picture in an open box. Sometimes it may take a couple of attempts.

File Upload in the Front End

I believe what I am about to ask isn't possible, however, I thought I should ask.before I say it cannot be done.
With open admin you can create file uploads that upload to a specified directory. Is there anyway to expose this on the front end of the site to allow for customers to upload files?
I ask because I would like to replicate a file upload feature that uploads to a specific directory of the site. Once that is done I display the image on the front end of the website.
I know I can upload files using a webform, however, this doesn't work for what I would like to do.
Any ideas or thoughts on this?

Hi Lynda,
That would be a security risk with bad files, viruses and open to abusive use.
You can submit files to a folder via a web app submission where you have to be logged in. This is that option for those reasons and a normal form submission goes into a case to keep it off your site so someone cant store and hotlink as a free storage space etc.

"No administrator found for the task" in the front end

Hi all,
My issue is, whenever approval request is raised from the front end ( JAVA WEB-DYNPRO), it triggers the workflow through the "sap_wapi_start_workflow" and when the workflow proceeds to the first level of approval, the front end application provides the approver with Approve and Reject options.
On click of approve, from the java webdynpro, the approve status is written in the container using "sap_wapi_write_container" and then a call is made to "sap_wapi_workitem_complete". Upon excution, the message line is "No administrator found for the task" and the return code is "1".
But if we do the same steps from the backend (R/3), the workitem is getting completed without any such error.

Hi Balaji,
I think I have an answer for you. This has happened with us when approving a WD java task using UWL (in our case for travel). The key is the return code of 1.
What has happened is this. The return code actually comes from the function SWW_WI_STATUS_CHANGE_NEW which is called deep in the WAPI wrapper. It means "infeasible_state_transition = 1".
This is due to the fact that after updating the container, your wapi call from web dynpro tries to change the workitem from status of "Ready" to status "Completed". This will not work.
What you will have to do is call "SWW_WI_STATUS_CHANGE_NEW" to set the status to 'SELECTED' beofre setting the item to complete.
The reason for this is that when you are executing from R3, the status change is done for you. When calling from the WD, no reservation of the workitem occurs.

Error While returning CLOB back to Front End Application

I have stored procedure which generate XML CLOB and returns CLOB back to front end application.
But when my CLOB exceeds some limit the front end application is not able get the CLOB.
Following is the error i am getting.

Create a table with a Long RAW Datatype column for storing the Image Column Data.
Create the form based on the table , which by defaults the column with LONG RAW atatype to a Image Item.
You can use Forms Built in function READ_IMAGE_FILE to read a Image file stored on the file system in to the image item.
A save on the form saves the image in the Image item in the long raw column.

I want to use PCI-1424 , and labview 5.1 to capture the image, But I can not find some functions in labview to capture, display and save the image.Can you be kind to share some examples or provide some information.

Thank you for contacting National Instruments! To acquire images from the 1424 you will need NI IMAQ 2.5.1 or later. This can be found HERE on our drivers download page. One thing to note is that in LabVIEW 5 we only had the ability to view an IMAQ image as a pop up window. This VI is called "IMAQ Windraw". This will pop up a separate window that will display your picture. If you need to view the picture on the front panel you can try saving the image as a file (BMP, JPG, etc) then use the LabVIEW Graphics and Sound VI's to Read a picture file in and then wire the picture to a picture control on the front panel. goto se78 -> in the menubar click graphic and import to select ur images from ur system .. then click transport button .. it automatically gets into the smartform graphic image list.. then get into transaction smartform and use the image u imported into that..
U can import anykind of image which u have stored in ur pc through se78..

Suresh, your html specifies an image at resources/images/privacy.gif - is that
image in your repository at the correct relative position to where yout html is?
Your html and repository structure must match. So if the html you posted is at
/BEA Repository/foo.html
then privacy.gif must be at /BEA Repository/resources/images/privacy.gif
