    Hi Prasad,
    <u>In ep5</u>:
    1. go to Portal Administration* -> Export
    2. select a role
    3. choose an export destination on the server (default is under EP5Data/.../Data/Export).
    4. press Export
    <u>In the server of the ep5 system</u>:
    1. put all the generated files in a folder, and zip it.
    <u>In ep6</u>:
    1. go to System Administration -> Transport -> Import
    2. choose "client"
    3. upload the zip you create and Press Import
    4. look under Migrated Content in the portal content for the result.
    Whereever that doesn't work, the way is to recreate the iView in ep6 (your developments from par, built-in iViews like KM navigation etc. from templates), and recreate the entire role/workset/page hierarchy.
    Hope that helps,
    Yoav.

    Lion Up-To-Date upgrade
    "The Mac OS X Lion Up-To-Date upgrade is available at no additional charge via the Mac App Store to all customers who purchased a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 6, 2011. Users must request their Up-To-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase of their Mac computer. Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 6, 2011 and the date when Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from Lion’s official release date to make a request." See below:
    OS X Lion - Get up to date
    Apple Stores may still be carrying inventory of the models that did not have Lion pre-installed, hence the above offer. Product that is ordered from the Online store should come with Lion pre-installed as will CTO (configure to order) models.
    And, babowa reminds me that you could install Lion on a separate partition in order to keep Snow Leopard's installation. You can create a second partition using Disk Utility.
    To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Open Disk Utility and select the drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list.
    2. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.  (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
    4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
    You should now have a new volume on the drive.
    It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss.  Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.
    Once you have your Lion installer application you can create a bootable USB flash drive (8 GB size):
    Make Your Own Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility.
    Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
    Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
    Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that  you can use without having to re-download Lion.

  • HT4796 How do I migrate two user accounts from the PC and create the two new user accounts on the mac?

    I am migrating from a PC to a new Mac. The PC has two user accounts. I want to migrate those two accounts from the PC to the Mac, keeping everything separate as it is on the PC. How can I do this?

    When you have set up migration assistant on your pc, it gives you options on what you want to migrate. Chose one account and migrate it, then choose the other account, and do the same. Two accounts will automatically be set up on the Mac.

  • How can I migrate all users preferences from 1 user to another on same MAC

    To get CS3 to work Adobe tech support had me create a new user account and install from there. Now the NEW account is the only account CS3 works in but all my settings, files, addresses, EVERYTHING are under the old account. Since it works on one account it's not their problem anymore. Is there ANYWAY to get all my old stuff from old account to new. I don't know where to begin, it's like I'm at a new computer. I can get to some of my files but can't save them back where they belong, grayed out.

    Hi and a warm welcome to the forums!
    I think we'd be better off figuring out how to install it for the other User, but...
    Do a Get info on the Adobe Apps/Folders in Applications on the working User, report the 3 Rights/Privileges.

  • Trying to migrate Ultiboard user database from Ver 11 to 12

    I updated my software to Ver 12, and noticed that my user database did not migrate. I then copied my ver 11 user db to the Ver 12 location and restarted Ultiboard. Upon invoking Ultiboard, I received a diagnostic stating that my user database was the wrong version and would not be useable. So how do I migrate my user database, and why wasn't this part of the update procedure in the first place?

  • How can I migrate my data from one user to another (to eliminate a previous owner's shortname?)

    I purchased a Macbook Pro second hand a couple of years ago and whilst I immediately changed my user name, didn't realise that the previous owner's short name still exists (I was a bit of a Mac virgin at the time!). I now have tonnes of documents, applications, settings, bookmarks, etc. which are assigned against the previous owner.
    I've now bought myself an iMac and before I migrate from the older machine to the new iMac, I wish to remove all trace of the previous macbook pro owner.
    In researching how to change the shortname user, I've tried virtually everything and everytime have to resort to time machine to restore my settings, desktop, etc. I simply cannot get this to work. Even what seems quite a comprehensive article and procedure didn't work i.e. "full monty" section of the following: http://www.macworld.com/article/1132693/changeshortusername.html
    Having failed miserably using different techniques and subsequently having to restore three times from time machine which is costing me hours upon hours, I'm absolutely frustrated at how to do this ... all I want to do is migrate everything to a new user account and delete the old user and previous owner.
    Surely someone out there can provide a fool proof, simple and effective method to migrate the user data and keep intact?
    Please help if you can!

    Pondini wrote:
    The only possible downside to this is, the transferred account may lose permission to the files on previous backups.
    Actually, there is a way to prevent that, also a bit odd.  On the old Mac, go to System Preferences > Accounts and unlock the padlock.  Control-click (right-click) the account you want to delete in the sidebar and select Advanced Options.  That will bring up a window like this:
    DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON THAT WINDOW.  Just note the UID number.
    When you start up the new Mac, the first account created (during initial setup) is automatically assigned #501.  The next is 502, etc. What you want to do is, after creating the first account, Restart and set up one or more temporary accounts in a way that will include that number;  then set up an additional one (an Admin account with the identical names as the one you want to trash).  Then log on to the additional one, delete the temporary ones and Restart your Mac (to finish clearing the numbers).
    Log on and run Migration Assistant as above.  That way, you'll get the prompt to rename it as above, but the UID it has will not be a duplicate, so Migration Assistant can transfer it "as is."

  • How to manually migrate user data under Mountain Lion?

    I want to manually migrate my user data from a cloned back-up to my iMac after a clean install of Mountain Lion. I do not want to use Migration Assistant because of the probabily of re-importing some of the problems I'm trying to fix.  (This is at the tail end of a long trouble shooting process trying to fix a very very slow computer aftere a ML upgrade from Lion.  Clean install of ML is a last resort)
    There used to be an excellent list by Kappy (I think) on this sort of migration under earlier systems and from PPC to Intel.  But that link seems to have been taken down.
    We plan to reinstall all software from scratch after the clean install, so that is not an issue. And I know how to move the normal files in documents, music and the like.  I am most concerned about are:
    •  Making sure I move the right files/folders in the Library related to Apple apps like iTunes, iPhoto, Address Book, Calendar, iWork apps, iPhone backups, etc. plus system/network settings.
    •  Are there other specific files/folders necessary due to iCloud that are new to Mountain Lion that need moved?
    •  How to do this in a way that ensures that all permissions will be OK under the new user?
    The goal is a new fresh user on a clean fresh ML install that is identical to the current user in name, function and above all, permissions.
    Can anyone provide a list of the main files/folders necessary to transfer ideally along the lines of Kappy's earlier and excellent guide?
    Thanks for any help!!
    ~Roger

    So long as you use iCloud for Mail, Contacts and Calendars, run software update(s) after installing each app, they will build new preference files for themselves.  iTunes will back up the phone too.  System settings are likely to change. I found the firewall off and energy saver preferences default.  Trackpad options for tap to click and drag lock may change.
    Some of the updates are quite large so it takes a few hours and you need any purchase key codes handy for re-registration of software.

  • How to use migration assistant when the same user account name is on both computers

    I want to migrate all my info from my MacBook to my new (to me) MacBook Pro.  I've already set up a user account on the new MBP that has the same name as the user account on the MacBook that I want to migrate.

    Snags40 wrote:
    In both cases the UID for my primary User Account is 507
    507?  That's odd; usually the first one created is 501, then 502, etc.  Could you have gone through 6 accounts?
    Since I've migrated thru several Macs to get to the current state on the old MacBook, I suspect the UID has changed.
    That could explain some of it, if you used Migration Assistant instead of Setup Assistant.  It would have taken a lot of migrations and user accounts to get to 507, I'd think.
    I still have the Powerbook that preceded the MacBook.  How can I determine the UID on 10.4.11?  The right click on the Account name in User Accounts doesn't show that value.  I'd like to see if UID has changed going from 10.4 to 10.5.
    Good question.  I skipped Tiger, and don't recall earlier versions, but this article may help:  http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20051022175850619&query=change%252BU ID

  • How to migrate  workflow user to upgrade oracle database

    hello all,
    we are running oracle 8.1.7 on sun solaris machine

    i mean i want to have all the runtime data avaialable to me on
    9i as well.
    thanks in advance.
    Zeeshan Ahmad

    The first thing you need to be aware of is that Oracle Workflow
    2.5 is not certified on 9i. You have 2 options:
    1) Upgrade to Oracle Workflow 2.6 on 8.1.7 (Workflow 2.6 is a
    separate CD in the 8.1.7 CD pack), and then upgrade the database
    to 9i.
    2) Upgrade the Database to 9i, and then upgrade to Oracle
    Workflow 2.6.1 which is included on the 9i Database CD.
    When you upgrade the database, all the data in the owf_mgr schema
    should be upgraded as well. As always, you would perform a couple
    of test database/workflow upgrades before upgrading on your
    production box.

  • How to migrate Apex users with existing passwords.

    Hi Guys,
    Our apex env finally getting a upgrade from 3.1.1 to 4.1.1 (I know, it's been overdue for years)
    Some of our apps use 'Application Express' authentication, and have few hundreds users in Apex (and users belong to diff user groups).
    The issue is, the 4.1.1 env is set up on a brand new server and DB, we want to migrate these users with their existing passwords from the 3.1.1 env.
    I tried exporting the workspace, and the users are exported as below,
         begin
         wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user (
         p_user_id => '10592934818556549584',
         p_user_name => 'TEST',
         p_first_name => 'a',
         p_last_name => 'b',
         p_description => '',
         p_email_address=> '[email protected]',
         p_web_password => 'E92903DEAD135E6E86BD6B64544D2BD9',
         p_web_password_format => 'HEX_ENCODED_DIGEST_V2',
         p_group_ids => '10592435401495787816:',
         p_developer_privs=> '',
         p_default_schema=> 'TEST',
         p_account_locked=> 'N',
         p_account_expiry=> to_date('201212040000','YYYYMMDDHH24MI'),
         p_failed_access_attempts=> 0,
         p_change_password_on_first_use=> 'Y',
         p_first_password_use_occurred=> 'N',
         p_allow_access_to_schemas => '');
         end;
    when I run this in 4.1.1 I had to modify it to the new format as below,
    also changed the p_group_ids to new user group but kept the password the same
         begin
         wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user (
         p_user_id => '',
         p_user_name => 'TEST',
         p_first_name => 'a',
         p_last_name => 'b',
         p_description => '',
         p_email_address=> '[email protected]',
         p_web_password => 'E92903DEAD135E6E86BD6B64544D2BD9',
         p_web_password_format => 'HEX_ENCODED_DIGEST_V2',
         p_group_ids => '1399416797653068:',
         p_developer_privs=> '',
         p_default_schema=> 'TEST',
         p_account_locked=> 'N',
         p_account_expiry=> to_date('201209041006','YYYYMMDDHH24MI'),
         p_failed_access_attempts=> 0,
         p_change_password_on_first_use=> 'Y',
         p_first_password_use_occurred=> 'N',
    p_allow_app_building_yn=> 'N',
    p_allow_sql_workshop_yn=> 'N',
    p_allow_websheet_dev_yn=> 'N',
    p_allow_team_development_yn=> 'N',
    p_allow_access_to_schemas => '');
         end;
    the result was that the user is created fine, but the password is not valid.
    Anyone knows how to export apex users with existing password to a new server?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Not sure why you say
    when I run this in 4.1.1 I had to modify it to the new format as below, If you just run the workspace export sql it should create the Workspace, Groups and Users
    The signature of the procedure is below. See the highlighted lines.
    procedure create_fnd_user (-- Description:
    -- This procedure allows for programatic and bulk creation of users.
    -- Example:
    -- From sqlplus logged in as the privileged flows user, first
    -- ensure that the security group id is set properly, then create
    -- your users.
    <b> -- begin wwv_flow_security.g_security_group_id := 20; end;</b>
    -- begin
    -- for i in 1..10 loop
    -- wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user(
    -- p_user_name => 'USER_'||i,
    -- p_email_address => 'user_'||i||'@mycompany.com',
    -- p_web_password => 'user_'||i) ;
    -- end loop;
    -- commit;
    -- end;
    -- Arguments:
    -- p_user_id numeric primary key of user
    -- p_user_name the username the user uses to login
    -- p_first_name informational only
    -- p_last_name informational only
    <b> -- p_web_password the unencrypted password for the new user</b>
    -- p_group_ids A colon delimited list of group IDs from the table wwv_flow_fnd_user_groups
    -- p_developer_privs A colon delmited list of developer privs, privs include:
    -- ADMIN:BROWSE:CREATE:DATA_LOADER:DB_MONITOR:EDIT:HELP:MONITOR:SQL:USER_MANAGER
    -- p_default_schema A valid oracle schema that is the default schema for use in browsing and
    -- creating flows
    -- p_allow_access_to_schemas A colon delimited list of oracle schemas that the user is allowed to
    -- parse as. If null the user can parse as any schema available to the company.
    -- This does not provide privilege it only resticts privilege, so listing a schema
    -- does not provide the privilege to parse as a schema, it only restricts that user
    -- to that list of schemas.
    -- p_attributes_XX These attributes allow you to store arbitary information about a given user.
    -- They are for use by flow developers who want to extend user information.
    <b> -- p_web_password_format Identifies the format of the web password.
    -- The range of values is CLEAR_TEXT, HEX_ENCODED_DIGEST, DIGEST </b>
    -- p_person_type "E" marks the user as external
    -->
    Note there is no HEX_ENCODED_DIGEST, DIGEST_V2 listed. It may work, but not obvious from the signature.
    Cheers,
