How to use 13-20 month early upgrade

So I hear everyone talking about how Verizon is ending the 13-20 month early upgrade and that now you will only be able to ugprade after 20 months, but I didn't even know you were ever able to upgrade after 13 months. On My Verizon, it says I am eligable for an upgrade on March 5 (20 months), but if I had known I was eligible for an upgrade 6 months ago I would have done it. Is there any way I can use this for the iPhone 4, and if so, how?
Edit - also, everyone is saying the NE2 program is ending, but you will still be able to upgrade after 20 months. I thought upgrading after 20 months was the NE2 program... what else was there that is being taken away?

The early upgrade applies to individuals on a base calling plan of 49.99 or greater and the PRIMARY line on any family plan (secondary lines aren't eligible) assuming your signed up on My Verizon and allows you to get a new phone every 12 months at the 2yr contract price.   As for NE2, they're getting rid of the added discounts(currently $30 or $50 depending on how much your plan is, decreased from $50 and $100 a few years ago) on individual and primary line on family plans.   The change on 1/16 will get rid of those benefits for new customers and allow 1 last annual upgrade or NE2 discount if you upgraded prior to that date.  So you could technically upgrade now (prior to the 16th) and still have an annual upgrade or NE2 discount a year or two down the road. Beyond that, everyone will still be able to upgrade at months $20 for the 2 yr contract price.

  • Any way to get a one month early upgrade??

My mom and I are on the same account and both have the same phone - HTC Incredible 2. Neither of us have had any issues with the phone whatsoever until recently. Both of our phone's charging port won't charge anymore. With only having to do little research, I learned this is a common problem with the HTC Incredible 2. Other than the broken charging ports, both phones are in great shape for being almost 2 years old. I don't have insurance on my phone, my mom does on hers, received a replacement phone but learned the one she received would be more trouble than it's worth so returned it and kept the Incredible 2. Being that the charging ports are broken, we both had to purchase an extra battery and external battery chargers. Anyone who has had this problem knows how much of a pain it is to not be able to charge your phone without having to take the battery out and switch to another one. There's no way to charge on the go. We have been loyal customers to verizon for many years and really would just like a month early upgrade. Our regular upgrade date is May 11, 2014 and was hoping to maybe atleast get a month early upgrade. Being that there is only about 2 months left until our upgrade, I see no point in forking over $300+ to get a new phone to use until the upgrade time and also see no point in doing the Edge program being that we don't generally even care to upgrade early. i get that verizon is pushing the new Edge plan so are stricter on early upgrades more so than in the past but I would hope that there would be some exceptions at their discretion. I've heard of people occasionally being able to get an early upgrade by calling customer service, etc so would just like to know if anyone has any suggestions. I will not join Edge and will not fork over hundreds of dollars to use a new phone for 2 months. I would hope that Verizon Customer Service would be a little sympathetic to their customers. The better the service, the more likely the customers are to stay.

I would call the 800 number and discuss with them. Even though it is Verizons Policy not to be nice to its customers in situations like these, sometimes you get the correct CS Agent on the phone who has a strange ability to make it happen.  I know of at least 4 different cases in the last 3 months where the CS Agent on the phone was able to offer an early upgrade (although each time the end user was charged a $20 fee to do so). Some of these 4 were up to 45 days early and they got their new phone at the discounted rate.  I need to stress here though that just because some people got it, that doesn't mean everyone will get it. It is based on many factors, length of time with Verizon, payment record, type of phone on and going to etc....

  • How to use .mac email address after upgrade to iCloud.

    HI
    Just wondering the following.
I have an old mac.com email address..  Can I still use it in any capacity?  What I am thinking is to be able to have an email sent to my mac.com email address forwarded to my gmail account.  Is this possible and if so how?
Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

If you use iCloud in Mail, all iCloud mail will include the main address and all aliases. They show in the same account, but with the different addresses.
If you use the main forwarding address in the general preferences of Mail at the iCloud site, then all messages to all iCloud addresses will forward to gmail.
If you only want to forward one of the addresses, go to the rules tab and create a rule to forward the .mac address to gmail.
You said: I am using gmail on my iphone/ipad so I do not need to sync my mail.
Do you not want the .mac or .me account on your phone and iPad?
You said: What I am trying to achieve here is just to have a mac.com account.  My concern is I do not want to get it confused with the me.com address.  Given that is it possible to have a mac.com email account that will work?
Where are you using the .me account and what for? How do you want to separate them so you don't get confused? If you only want a .mac account, what happened to gmail?
I'm sorry. It appears there is a minor translation barrier. I am not understanding what you need to accomplish and I'm getting confused.
Maybe you could explain as simple as possible all what you want to show in Mail on the computer, iPhone, and iPad and what you want to sync together.
Glenn I am sorry for the confusion.  The joys of email.
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do. Do you want the .mac address forwarded to gmail and not the .me address?
Yes I want to forward the .mac address to my gmail account  The reason I have the .me address is because Apple forced this on me when I signed up for the icloud when it first came out.  They would not let me use another account. I would have prefered the .mac account but as I said I had no choice.
You said: I am using gmail on my iphone/ipad so I do not need to sync my mail.
Do you not want the .mac or .me account on your phone and iPad?
I do not want either account on my iPhone or iPad for email.  I use my gmail account for my email.  I have gmail defined as an exchange account on the iPhone/iPad in order to push email to my devices.  I just want to have a .mac email address that people can send emails to.  My intention is to forward the .mac emails to my gmail.
So I guess my problem boils down to how I can have the mac.com address (which is defined on Apple) forward any emails to my gmail account.
I hope I am making this clearer for you to understand.  Maybe I am trying to do something that is not possible?  Maybe I am making this more complicated than it really i?.  The concept is simple.  Apple just makes it difficult to do it.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • How to get my early upgrade?

I currently own a samsung intensity that i HATE. I am 13 months into my 2 year contract and I am the second line on a 3 line account. I am looking to buy a Droid X and add on a data plan but I have no idea how to get the early upgrade. I have heard about it but I am not sure how to sue it. when I check online it doesn't give me the option to upgrade. Would I have to become the primary line? If so what would this require (as in any fees)? If not could they just let me use their early upgrade (how would that be arranged)? And finally, can this onl be done online or can I do it in stores? Sorry for having so amny questions.

The standard annual upgrade is only available on phone lines that have a price plan cost of $49.99 or higher, and this is only for the next 10 days or so... seeing as you have to have been on that plan for 3 months (and be one year into your contract) I'm not sure if you would be able to get it if you changed over now (and by that I mean I don't know if you would be able to use it 3 months from now), or if they would just say that since you havn't been on it for 3 months at this point that you don't get it. Long story short... the only chance you have of using a standard policy early upgrade on your line would be to get the primary line status changed over to your line, but I really can't promise that would work. If you want an upgrade without doing that you will need to ask for a supervisor approval upgrade.

  • Early upgrade (one month) for wacky problematic phone, DENIED

    Hello,
I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for SEVENTEEN years.
I purchased the Droid under a different line last February (2010)
around October the on/off button  stopped working...
I was keeping it charged for weeks...and sliding it over for it to go on...
but it finally died and there was no way to turn it back on...
Verizon Wireless was nice enough to send me a REfurbished Droid.
This is a DUMB smartphone....if I get a text during a call, it disconnects the call.
A simple phone can handle this, mine can NOT.
I called Verizon in April and they said they'd early upgrade me,
but at that time I didn't know what phone I wanted, whether it be a smartphone or simple, maybe less problematic phone.
Well after dealing with my dumb phone and resisiting from throwing it into a wall from frustration (it has other problems too)
I called Verizon Wireless again .
They went through a 30 minute "typed script and troubleshooting"
then I was told the phone is problematic.  well duh...I've been way patient while paying over $200 a month for this fantastic service for WAY too many years!
I was then given an order number, but told it needed to be approved by a manager.
48 hours later I was DENIED.
I feel like an a$$ being a loyal customer.
I was upping my contract 2 years, etc.
and they told me no......   denied. order cancelled.
I am feeling like being loyal is unappreciated.
I didn't think 30 days really mattered for an early upgrade.
I have no luck with Verizon phones either.
last phone I really liked that had no problems was a great light blue and grey  phone, no flip,
that I had to give up when they went digital.
Had to be over a decade ago.
Man I miss that WORKING phone...only phone that EVER worked reliably.
    thanks for the vent
    shopping other networks,
feel like loyal customers do not matter to this company.

Man that would **bleep** me off too... I worked @ Verizon Wireless in their call center for about 3 years & that is not an uncommon issue.
I wish I could give you a solid answer instead of suggestions, but here's how I've seen people get their "early upgrade" approved...
First of all, you've been w/VZW for 17 years?!? With the same account?! I have NEVER seen a supervisor deny a month early upgrade for someone who's had service for 17 years.
    -  Call back & ask for a supervisor immediatly. Tell the supervisor what's going on & If you are still not happy with the results, escalate it to the supervisors manager.
    - If you still have no luck, tell them you want to disconnect. They will actually say "okay let me get you over to a rep. that can close the account" & that person has special deals they can offer you & if it is really only a month or 2 early, they will totally push it though for you.
    Good luck!

  • I was promised an early upgrade and didn't get it

One of the 4 lines on my account is 2 months from upgrade and i called 2 days ago because its not working right. The rep I spoke to tried to troubleshoot but it didn't work, she than offered me devices to upgrade that i didn't want. She got a supervisor who authorized her to move my upgrade date to the date we spoke. I went online today to do my upgrade and it wasn't there. I called and got someone else who said there are no notes or anything. she offered me a free 5c with a 2 year upgrade, Still don't want that, I was on the phone for over an hour and got no where. Do I have anymore options before I move my 4 lines to t-mobile? They are going to cover my cancellation fees. I think its time to change because I don't like being promised something and it's not delivered on. I've been with verizon wireless for about 8 years and I can't believe they are giving me such a problem for a 2 month early upgrade. They have done it so many times in the past before.

what is past is in the past.
Verizon as a rule will not allow an early upgrade. It is just then way it is.
What will happen is you will be told it will happen with this person approval and that persons approval and it will not appear, you will call and then they will say it is being investigated or they will send a priority request to a manager to have it done yada, yada, yada.
Then you will be told it was not approved. By that time you WILL be eligable for a new upgrade device. See how that works.
Good luck at T-Mobile you will pay full price for all devices on all lines and a $10 sim charge each line and $38 in activation fees so come to them with some CASH

  • Early upgrade if contract expires in 2010?

I know that I had seen this on the Verizon site and should have printed it but??? It stated that if your contract was up in 2010, you would be able to upgrade to the Droid X with out penalty? Can anyone verify this? It is all over the net but I can no longer find it on Verizon's site. It's like they deleted it!

If your contract end date (this is the 24 month end date, not the 20 month early upgrade date) is in 2010, then you can upgrade to the Droid X at the $199 price (after MIB) on July 15th. I'm not a Verizon employee, so as such, I carry no official weight, but this is the way I understand it to be.
I'm Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of the Droid X!

  • How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion?  I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8)

How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion?  I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now.  Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.

Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem.

  • Can I Upgrade From Regular Cell Phone to Smartphone Several Months Early?

I have a Samsung Sway that I upgraded to last spring - in March. It's been a great phone, but I now have a full-time job where I need e-mail access and would like to upgrade to a Droid smartphone. Beyond that, my Sway has serious screen issues now where it frequently becomes a patchwork of lines and squiggles that I can't see anything through. I have a feeling it's dying.
I'm on a Family Plan and have been for years - my mom started the contracts 7 or 8 years ago - and I'm wondering, could I get an early upgrade to a Droid? It would require me getting a different plan for the phone since it would need data etc. versus my current 1500 minutes, unlimited texts, no data plan. Would it be possible for me to upgrade for free or for a small fee?
How do I go about upgrading even though I'm still about five or six months away from my Every Two Years upgrade? Is this even possible?

Generally, Verizon will not change your upgrade date, even if you change your plan or add high-value features like data.  Verizon allows you to reverse these changes at any time, so they are not an effective bargaining chip.
You should start by calling CS and asking if you are eligible for any early upgrade promotions.  These vary by region, so you may be lucky.
If there are no promotions, you could do an alternate upgrade using the eligibility from one of the other lines on your family plan.  Basically, they upgrade and give the phone to you, then in March, you can upgrade and get them the phone they want.
Otherwise, you will have to purchase the phone at full-price or from a non-Verizon source.
    Good luck!

  • How to use upgrade for primary number on another number

The primary phone on our family contract is eligible for an early upgrade now but we want to upgrade the other phone.  Can this be done online or must I go to a Verizon store to do the switch?
As an aside, I want a smartphone so I can have a single device rather than a phone + Palm Pilot.  I'm not really interested in a data plan, but it is required for a smartphone.  Having read some of the postings, I know I'm not the only one annoyed by the requirement to have a data plan with a smartphone.

To use your annual upgrade, the easiest way will be to just upgrade as normal online or over the phone.  When the new phone arrives, activate it briefly on the primary line following the instructions included with the phone.  Once it's activated, you will have accepted the terms of your new contract, and you can re-activate the phone that was previously on that line by dialing *228 and selecting option 1 from the old phone.  The new phone will now be available to activate on any Verizon line you would like.

  • How to open project from an earlier version (RH x3) using RoboHelp 6.

Hello everyone, I need your help. I have recently upgraded
from RH x3 to RH V6. I have just completed the installation of RH6
after spending long time with Adobe customer support as it took
them long time to figure out how to provide me the unlocking key to
    install RH v6.
BTW I have only installed RoboHelp 6 by itself. I did not
install their Source Control because we already have Visual Source
Safe which we have been using in our company.
Also, since I had Adobe Reader 8 installed on my PC, I did
not install Acrobat Element 7 either. As I suppose if Acrobat 7 or
higher is installed RH v6 was not going to install Acrobat Element
    7.
Well, now after I have installed RH v6, my first step is to
find out how to open project from an earlier version (RH x3) using
    RoboHelp 6.
RH x3 is installed on my old PC and I am working on my new PC
where I have installed RH V6.
Sorry, for providing you too many details, the purpose is
only to give you a clear picture.
Please, give me your feedback if I am doing everything
correct and how should I open the project from an earlier version.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
Thank you so much for the response. Actually, after I posted
the question on Forum we had lost internet connection for some time
and I just went ahead and tried it by myself.
This is what I did – since we use MS Visual Source
Safe, my all files were in the working folder of VSS in my c drive.
I just clicked the Open tab/More Files in RoboHelp Starter and
located the RoboHelp HTML Project File. It opened without any
    problem. Everything looks alright.
Is there anything specific I should be checking to make sure
if it is working fine in this version of RH. Because I did not
create this project, somebody else did and I have never used this
tool before this is the first time I will be using.
I found your site pretty helpful though and it did have some
information about Source Safe. I still have one question related to
Visual Source Safe that Is RoboHelp v6 linked to VSS automatically
and check the files out from it automatically whenever a project is
opened or we have to manually set the link between the RH6 &
    VSS.
In RH x3 whenever I would open a project it would prompt a
message that in order to open this project the following files need
to be writable, would you like to make them writable, selecting
that option would checkout all the files from the VSS to make them
writable. However, in RH V6 I opened an existing project and it
opened without checking out the project files from VSS. Do you have
    any idea what’s happening?
Ps: Do you recommend any book on RH 6 for starters or any
    other recommendation?
    Your help is always appreciated
