How to use a blank date picker

Hi Everyone,
I was recently asked to write a report which was to feature a from and to date. Additionally I was asked to return all results if no date was stipulated.
Herein lies my efforts, which I am glad to say have been successful!
DECLARE @fromDate DATE, @toDate DATE
SET @fromDate = '[%0]'
    IF @fromDate = '1753-01-01'
        SET @fromDate = '2013-11-01'
SET @toDate = '[%1]'
    IF @toDate = '1753-01-01'
        SET @toDate = GETDATE()
I also declared the variables %0 and %1 as follows.
The key here is the date value of '1753-01-01' which is what Business One will return if a date picker is left empty!
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3310569/what-is-the-significance-of-1-1-1753-in-sql-server
In my code above I stipulated the date 2013-11-01 if no from date was specified because that was the go live date for our Business One system. Furthermore I stipulated today's date if no to date was stipulated.
I hope that this helps others who may find themselves with similar report requirements.
Kind Regards,
David

Hi David,
Please repost above discussion as question type.

    how can I get a date picker or wheel to show up in the form to make filling in a form with a lot of dates more easy?

    There is no built-in date picker available for forms created in Acrobat. There are some third-party solutions involving JavaScript (either a large collection of fields or a custom dialog) though. Also, text fields with date formatting will use a wheel type date picker on Android/iOS devices with Adobe Reader.

  • How to use Count with Date Parameters

    Hello,
    I am having issues using the Count() function in conjunction with date parameters.
    This is a Siebel report and in my report I have 2 date parameters(From Date, To Date). In a nutshell I am basically trying to count Opportunities that has a start date within the given date period. However I don't see a reasonable way to put my date parameters within the Count() function. The reason being is that I need to have a huge chunk of code to convert the dates into a common format that can be compared, and it won't even fit within the code block in my rtf template. I am not even sure how to put multiple conditional statements inside a Count() function since all the examples I have seen are very simple.
    Anyone have a suggestion on how to use Count() with date parameters?
    Thanks.

    Any chance you can get the date formats in the correct format from siebel?
    I don't know Siebel - so I can't help you with that. If you get the correct format it is just
    <?count(row[(FromDate>=date) and  (date<=ToDate))?>
    Otherwise the approach would probably need to use string function to get year/monthd/day from the date
    and store it into a varialbe and compare later the same way
    <?variable@incontext:from; ....?>
    <?variable@incontext:to; ...?>
    <?count(row[($from>=date) and  (date<=$to))?>
    Potentially you can use the date functions such as xdofx:to_date to do the conversion
    [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12187/T421739T481158.htm]
    But I am not sure if they are available in your siebel implementation.
    Hope that helps

In my ps4 storage I have all the saved data from my games and aplications. I have answered this in your other post.

  • How to determine if the Date Picker was selected?

    I have a tabular form with columns of date type that are displayed as APEX Date Picker.
    A user can enter the date two different ways; 1. Enter date by clicking in the field and type it manually. 2. Click on the calendar icon next to the field and select a date.
    The entered dates are validated, and if invalid, should be replaced with the existing date.
    This works fine for case 1 when a user enters the date manually using the following code in the Element Attributes.
      onFocus="savedData=this.value;" onChange="if( isDate3(this.value)==false){this.value=savedData}" The existing data is saved in the savedData field using the onFocus event and then used to replace the this.value if the validation fails.
    But, for case 2, I get an error indicating that the savedData is undefined, which is true. This is because the user does not click into the field and triggering the onFocus event. Instead, the user clicks on the calendar icon next to the field that opens a calendar pop-up. For this case, if a user selects a date in the future, an alert is raised, and the date needs to be replaced with the existing date.
    So the question is, is there a way to trigger an event to save the existing value if the user clicks the calendar icon next to the date field to populate the date?
    Thanks,

  • How do I set blank data to date field in pdf form ?

    Dear Sir,
    I made PDF form by Acrobat X on Windows PC and then,
    read the pdf form by acrobat reader on iPad.
    Date field  is included in the form.
    The Acrobat version is 10.1.6 .
    The acrobat reader version is 10.5.0 .
    First, I put the wrong date data to the date field.
    So, I tried to clear the date field.
    I want to put the blank data to the date, but I think
    there are no way to put the blank data on iPad
    I would like to know how to reset the date data.
    If that helps, I tried to the same thing on Android.
    I could put blank data to the date field by BS key.
    Sincerely,

    Here is how to clear the Date field on the Ipad.
    NOTE: In order for this to work that has to be another TEXT field in the PDF to get the keyboard to pop-up.
    Click on Text field (this is to get the regular keyboard on screen)
    Click on Date field (date spinner control will show up)
    Click on SAME DATE field (spinner control will disapper)
    Click on "Reset Field" on top of keyboard (date field will now be empty)
    Click any where on PDF that is not another Date field (keyboard will disappear and date field will be empty)
    Bingo! your free and clear.

  • How to use java.sql.Date ?

    hi there:
    I used
    ps.setDate(27, new java.sql.Date(new java.util.Date().getTime()));
    ps.executeUpdate();
    in my code to insert the current date to the 27th column of one table, this column's type is DATE, the database is ORACLE. However, I got the error like this one: ORA-01843: not a valid month.
    I think I incorrectly used the java.sql.Date API to cause this error. So anyone can tell me how to use it correctly?
    Thanks for the answers,
    Sway

    Other columns are all VARCHAR2 type;
    The oracle error message indicated that this is a
    date-related one. 27th are the only column using DATE
    So I came to draw my conclusion that the SQL might be
    wrong.Except that if, for example, the date column is actually at index 26 then Oracle might try to convert the string being passed in (at 26) as a date. But it isn't a date. So then oracle is going to throw an exception indicating that something is wrong - like that the month is invalid.

  • How to use the "target Data lines"?

    Hello,
    I want to program some DSP effects and filters with Java. I know to use the "Clip" and the "Sound" data lines in the Java Sound API, but it is difficult to me tu use the "target data lines" to do what I want to. So I have several questions :
    I have found how to convert a clip to a target data line. I have understood how to get the int from the sounds via the target data line. But, when I have done the operations with this int, how to do again a sound from the int? Wich method must I use to "convert the int to a sound"?
    Normally, oscillators and filters need to do an integration using the sample rate. Does anyone could give to me some exemples?
    I have found code sources for C++ for DSP. Where could I find the same for Java?
    Do you know a book about this subject, I did not find any?
    Thank you for your help.

    My idea is to create a byte array from the audio clip via a ByteArrayOutputStream, then to create an int or a float, then do the operations, and then do another audio line from the new byte array. Am I wrong?This is correct, I believe.
    This byte array will have a size of 16 (for PCM or wave files) surrely.Not necessarily. If you're using 16-bit samples for PCM data, then every 2 array positions will be "a sample". Your byte array will be 2 times the number of samples.
    You'll want to pull the data 2-bytes at a time and do basiclly:
    byte[] data_in = new byte[2];
    myTargetDataline.read(data_in, 0, 2);
    short sample = (data_in[0] << 8) + (data_in[1]);Then do whatever you want to your sample, and then write it back...
    byte[] data_out = new byte[] {
    (byte)(sample >>> 8),
    (byte)(sample )
    mySourceDataline.write(data_out, 0, 2);I used a short instead of an int because it's 16-bit data, so it's a short. PCM may be an "unsigned" short, but you'll have to check into that yourself ;-)
    To be perfectly honest, I've never done this so my sample code will probably need to be tweaked. But I hope it helps you get headed in the right direction, and gimme an update when you try it out.

  • How to use the parameter "data" in the vi of Nonlinear Curve Fit

    I used "Nonlinear Curve Fit" to do state estimation. If I make the number of unknows a constant number, it is fine to code the fitting model for f(x,a). But if I want to code the number of unknows as a variable, how can I do this?
    Maybe "data" should be used here. But I just could not find any examples talking about how to use "data" here.
    Thanks.

    Hey hilary,
        Have you looked at the LabVIEW help for the Nonlinear Curve Fit VI?  Which version of LabVIEW are you using?  In mine, the VI is polymorphic, and you can declare the formula to be a formula string.  Then it provides pins to enter the input parameters programmatically.  Perhaps you could post a screenshot of how you are currently using the VI, and we could help more.

  • How to use filter for data tables? Important topic but no docs/examples.

    I was looking at the TableRowGroup APIs:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/docs/apis/webui/index.html
    and looks like it has getTableDataFilter and setTableDataFilter methods. Sounds to me, that we can use TableDataFilter to filter rows that are displayed. For example, we can provide users with a drop down list of fields to choose from, and input field to enter the value of the selected field, so that they can narrow down the rows to search for specifics row(s) they are looking for.
    I have not seen any example, or enough documentation, to figure out how to use this filter. Since JSC is new, there are not too many resources out there or on web for such specific issues. Any gurus out there?
    Thanks

    Creator Team: Data filtering tutorial is over due now. This is something that will be useful to most developers. We all want to display users some data and want to provide user ability to filter it down based on some criteria, i.e. display rows within a date range, display all rows that have certain value or a field, etc. If there is a built-in filter in TableRowGroup, why not document it adequately along with some examples and a tutorial?
    This is one of the key elements of Microsoft/VS.NET market share -- provide tons of example/tutorials/advanced code/books/3rd party books, etc. Why can't other companies follow a well-proven success element? In spite of making a better product, the can end up loosing or not gaining enough share, because of this lack of attention.

  • How to Resize the default date picker calendar

    Hello Experts,
    SAP CRM web UI shows a date picker as follows for populating fields of type date.
    We noticed a strange issue that for months like January 2015 , the width of the date picker is lesser than what is shown for November 2014.
    As you can see in the following snapshot , the dropdown icon of the second field is hidden when the month shown is November 2014.
    This an issue because of the different sizes shown for different months , users would have to move mouse pointer when they to move to next months by clicking on the next arrow icon.
    Any tricks to fix the width of the date picker will be really appreciated.

    Hi Praveen,
    You can try following tricks -
    1. Go to SE80, search for BSP Application = 'thtmlb_styles'
    2. under Pages with Flow Logic  - we have one CSS file called "thtmlb_core_stand.css"
    3. In this file try changing width of method call ' #thtmlb-calendar-container ' to 150px  like shown below.
    #thtmlb-calendar-container {
         display:                none;
         position:               absolute;
         width:                  150px;
    hope it helps.
    Best Regards,

  • How to use colspan in data table?

    I have a requiremnt like using colspan in data table.
    I heared it is possible with some javascripting code . I s it true.
    If possible pleese send that code.

    It's just free to use? Or are you violating the Apache license somehow?
    Well, the best solution turns out to create a custom component.
    You can also try to group/render a h:panelGrid in a h:column to simulate multiple columns. This might involve some rework with the layout (CSS should be sufficient tho) and the generated code would look like dirty. But this should work anyhow.

  • How do i enter a date picker into a template form?

    I want to save a template with a submit form button which saves and sends a new document to an email address?

    Hi KS,
    Sorry, this got buried in my inbox. Did you still need help?
    If I understand your situation, you want people to grab the form, fill it out, and they save a copy and the data also comes to you. This is all do-able, but so far it sounds like it could also be a web form, and when clicking the submit button both the submitter and you would get e-mails with the data. The advantage of the web form is that it's easy to evolve and change as necessary, and changes are instantly available.
    You can have a date picker, a drop-down list, and a submit button all on the form, regardless of whether it's a PDF-based form or a web form.
    Again, my apologies for this taking so long,
    Brian
