Req any examples of how to use a USB midi controller/keyboards with Labview TIA

    Hi,
To access the MIDI ports you will need to call the Windows SDK. To send MIDI commands is relatively easy, here is an example that shows you how to send data to a MIDI controller or keyboard.
As far as input goes, this is the hard part. There are a series of functions that you need to call to open up the device, set some buffers and and possibly a callback to get notifications on the incoming data.
Reading MIDI data will not be an easy task, your best bet will be to implement this in a DLL and call that DLL in LabVIEW, there should be some code available o the web.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • How to use two different network cards on RT?

Hi everyone... I'm currently working on a project where I have to deal with the issue mentioned in the thread's topic: I have a PC with RT LabVIEW that has to be able to establish network connections using two different network cards. One will be used to connect via TCP/IP with a host computer that will show the data transmitted through shared variables; the other will communicate with another PC through Modbus protocol. The key is that each communication is done through a separate network card.
So far I haven't been able to figure out how to configure both things to happen. Does anyone know how to do this? Any tips will help.
For the RT communication I'm using a standard RT project, with the RT PC being given one of the IPs, and for the Modbus part, I created an I/O server with a master and a slave. Separately everything works fine, but when I get them together it simply won't work.
    Thanks for your help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sorry it took me so long to answer, I've been busy lately....I've found a solution to the problem I mentioned, and just in case anyone has similar problems in the future, I'll shortly describe what happened.
As Caseyw suggested, it was necessary to enable both network cards through the Measurement and Automation Explorer. The cause of the connections malfunction was actually that I wasn't using the "right" protocol for the Modbus communication, which ran on the secondary adapter. The solution was to use the URL protocol with the correct path on the field, addressing the right IP address. To avoid making this post a mixture of topics, I won't elaborate futher, but I got the gist of it, so if anyone is having similar problems whether it is working with several network cards or with Modbus communication protocols, feel free to contact me, I'll be glad to help.
    Thanks

  • How to use the same credit card for more than one customer master

    Hi,
this is a question for consultants at least a little familiar with SAP business partner, Customer-vendor-intergration cvi, contract accounting:
My customer wants to store the same credit card with more than one customer. Arguments are that family members or partners may mutually agree to use the same credit card for their distinct purchases.
I never tried with amazon or the likes but I know that SAP validates the uniqueness of credit cards.
I found 6 code line where the message (V/)005 "Payment card &1 &2 is already assigned to customer &3" prohibits duplicate assignment.
Even if I create a couple of enhancements to suppress the error, I don't know how the system will work.
The customer does not like the idea of using alternative payer.
Did you ever face the same problem and how did you solve it?
    Much Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Clemens

    thanks

Can you use a visa gift card in the itunes store and if so how do you set it up?

    You cannot.
    Gift cards are country specific.
You cannot use the U.S itunes store from the U.K.
Send the card back to someone in the U.S who can use it.

    Sunny;
As you are scanning multiple channels and the signal range is high, you can try to set the interchannel delay a little higher. The interchannel delay is the time which the multiplexer will take to switch to the next channel. If that time is to short, the instrumentation amplifier can have problems to settle, and then an error at the reading will happen.
You can change the Interchannel delay at the AI Config.vi.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use PCI6602 4-5 cards run simultaneous via RSTI?

I use them as a simple event counter all of them must start and stop count at the same interval of time.
Now I write my VI as attachment,I already have RSTI bus,but don't know how to use it.

    PCI6602 Count(4card 32CH) R8.vi ‏345 KB

    Hi credo,
First here's a few comments on what I see in your vi:
    1. The loops to configure the counters are the right idea. You need those 32 distinct task id's to perform 32 channels of counting. You've already gotten over one key hurdle!
    2. There's quite a bit of duplicated code to handle each of the 4 boards separately. You could make sub-vi's out of these code chunks and clean up your diagram considerably.
    3. You're programming the counters for "simple" (unbuffered) event counting but are then reading them as though they are buffered. This won't work.
I can't tell whether you need buffering or not. It doesn't look like you are trying to use most of the buffered data. However, buffering *can* still help make sure that all the counter values you read represent the same instant in time. Can you describe your needs more exactly?
    4. If you buffer the reads, you'll need to supply a "Gate" signal, i.e., a sampling clock. If you can spare a counter to generate one, then this alone can synchronize all your readings. Otherwise, you'll also need to configure all the counters to start on a digital trigger.
    5. You've got some issues with dataflow, local variables, and race conditions. For example: inside your big loop you read from the D1,D2,D3,D4 local variables to create a graph and stuff. However, you don't write new values into those indicators until the inner reading loops end. It is very likely that they will be read before they are written. This would be a good place to simply route wires instead of using local variables.
That's plenty enough to look into for now. I would strongly recommend that you first try to work out the programming syntax and flow using several counters from 1 board. When you get it working, you can create a sub-vi from it and reuse it for the other boards. Then we can start talking about RTSI...
One little-known fact about RTSI is that it can actually be handy even when programming a single board under traditional NI-DAQ. I've used it frequently to avoid the need to hardwire connections for timing signals. I'd again recommend that when you're ready to deal with RTSI, that you first try it out on a single board. If it works for 1 it'll work for the others.
Finally, you may want to consider migrating to DAQmx. Especially if you don't have a lot of code invested into counters under traditional NI-DAQ yet. NI has been nudging us toward DAQmx for quite a while now, and it'll handle the RTSI stuff pretty much auto-magically.

  • How to use DSSS or FHSS sequencing methods in LabVIEW using modulation pallete

    Hi
I would really appreciate it if you give me an example how to use DSSS or FHSS using modulation pallete. I searched for any example or tutorial for spread spectrum techniques but I couldn't find anything useful. even a very basic vi might be really helpful for m
    Many thanks

    Hi en99,
apologies for a very late reply and I'm sure you've figured this out by now anyway but just in case, here's a quick and dirty example of using dsss with a PN sequence and QPSK.
I'm not re-applying the matched filter here since the de-spread requires a tight alignment to the original timings (if you de-spread the wrong chips then you won't get your symbols out correctly so you do need some level of synchronisation).
Have a play with the Eb/No and the filtering from the front panel - you'll see the un dsss'ed spectrum narrow up as expected with some level of filtering, but the aim of dsss is to spread that out.
    Hope this is useful.

  • Idea about how-to using 'Agilent Wireless Test Manager' interfaces in Labview ?

    Hello everyone,
I am not sure whether it is appropriate to post this here.
Currently I got a Wireless Test Manager CD(Agilent E6560A) and is trying to convert some functionalities inside class 'cdmaTXMeasTests' into labview.
I am doing the 'code domain power testing' module with labview, which is well done in that 'cdmaTXMeasTests'.
I am wondering if any one could provide me some idea how to use that 'cdmaTXMeasTests' in my labview without rebuild the wheel.
( I am not sure whether that would work,  Are the libaries used by wireless test manager a  ActiveXDLL that could be used by labview ? Or there is some other way to do it or not?)
    Any idea is well appreciated,
    +Kunsheng Chen

    Good Afternoon Kunsheng Chen,
It seems like you are trying to port your DLL.  Rather, I would suggest using a Call Library Function Node (right-click the Block Diagram, Functions>>Connectivity>>Libraries & Executables>>Call Library Function Node).
From the Agilent website, this is a C dll so you will be able to access it using this VI in LabVIEW with no problems.  You might want to contact Agilent to see if this DLL has ActiveX components.  Alternatively, you can simply browse the list of ActiveX components on your computer.
The following links may provide some useful information for using a DLL in LabVIEW.

  • How to use g++ to build shared libraries for labview in linux?

does anyone knows if it's possible to compile a shared library in linux with g++ that could be recognized by labview?
    thks
    JP

    Hi JP,
Yes you can use g++ to build shared libraries that labview can use. You'll want to give your C++ library a C interface. This is really common practice. You can do this by simply declaring functions as 'extern "C"'. Here is a link with more information:
    http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/mixing-c-and-cpp.html#faq-30.8
I've personally worked on projects that do exactly what you want to do.

  • How to use it with gift card?

    Dear Sir,
My niece bought the Apple TV to me, but I could not use it because I do not know how to install.  My friend said it does not support in my country, Thailand.
I have wifi and rounter to play internet.  Please advise me how to install.
Also, if i buy a gift card, what kind of gift card i should buy.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Regards,
    Lex

FYI: you are not speaking to Apple here, this is a user forum.
Here are the requirements for ATV
    HDMI cable
High-definition TV with HDMI and capable of 720p
    Wired or wireless network
    iTunes Store account
Broadband Internet connection (fees may apply)
    How to setup
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Apple_TV_2nd_gen_Setup_Guide.pdf
If there are no movies available in the iTunes store in your location then you can't rent via ATV (Make sure you have movies available before you get the gift card). You can still stream content from your computer, but it must be on and running iTunes
