How to use a REAL Bluetooth Dongle in WTK?

Hello,
Is there a guide or tutorial that shows how to set up the WTK for MIDP (or even CDC) to use a REAL bluetooth dongle on a PC, rather that use the simulated bluetooth enviroment that is shipped with WTK?
Which bluetooth package is best to use?
http://www.avetana-gmbh.de/avetana-gmbh/produkte/jsr82.eng.xml

Any others?
Thanks.

Anyone already do that? Or is impossible to use WTK emulator ans USB BT dongle?

  • How to use airplay with wifi dongle?

My mac's wifi adapter was broken, so I bought a wifi dongle - ASUS USB-N10.
It wasn't work until I installed the driver: http://www.wireless-driver.com/realtek-rtl8192su-adapter-macos-drivers-ver1082/
And however it seems to be a wifi assistant to help me using my wifi dongle more than a simple driver, and my mac recognize the wifi dongle as a lan connection, so I just cannot use airplay anymore!
The question is: how can I make my mac recognize the wifi dongle correctly (as a wifi)?

AirPlay is only compatible with AirPort base stations.
The dongle is not compatible with AirPlay.

  • How to use "Oracle Real Application Testing"

I am analyzing if/how my employer can make best use of "Oracle Real Application Testing". I therefore read various documentation and articles as well as the relevant sections in the "Oracle® Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference". However, there is one conceptual question which I could not yet answer from this documentation.
From what I understood there are (at least) two possible approaches to capture and replay SQL workload:
    1) Capture the workload into a STS (SQL Tuning Set) using DBMS_SQLTUNE. Replay the workload before/after changes made to the system using DBMS_SQLPA. DBMS_SQLPA can be further used to compare the before/after execution and to generate comparison reports thereof.
    2) Capture the workload into OS files (and optionally into a SQL Tuning Set in addition to that) using DBMS_WORKLOAD_CAPTURE. Replay the workload using DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY. DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPLAY can be further used to compare different replay runs and generate reports thereof.
    Now my questions are:
{noformat}(i){noformat} Is the overview I sketched above correct or did I misunderstand/miss important points?
(ii) What is the conceptual difference between the two approaches depicted in (1) and (2) above / what is the intended use for each of them?
(iii) What is the difference between the information that DBMS_WORKLOAD_CAPTURE writes in the corresponding OS files and the information that is stored in a STS? From what I understand, both store information related to SQL execution during a certain period, including the impact of each SQL on the entire workload. Are the two just different formats to store the data (within and outside of the database) or is there any different information stored in them?

Here you have books related to that theme:

  • Inbuilt bluetooth + Bluetooth dongle on macbook pro

    Hi,
Is it possible to use an external bluetooth dongle + inbuilt bluetooth on macbook together.
Idea is to connect bluetooth mouse and speaker to inbuilt bluetooth and keyboard to external dongle... Experiencing crappy connection when all is connected to my macbook at once especially the keyboard.
I'm running mavericks. Heard that bluetooth dongles don't work on it anymore...??? Is it true???

I have certainly never tried what you depict. IMHO, that would not work.

  • JABRA A320S bluetooth dongle compatible with my mac book??

I bought a jabra a320s to pair my mac book with a sony mini stereo. i want to play my music through it.
i had to get the jabra dongle since the mac's bluetooth didn't support a2dp. i haven't opened the box yet for the jabra device. will this work with a mac? on the box it only says compatible with various windows, etc.
anyone know if this will be fine for what i need? thanks in advance.

The Mac Book is from 2005..When I tried looking up the Bluetooth specifications it didn't list A2DP as a feature.
It doesn't list A2DP as a feature on the very latest MacBooks either - even though those are the ones that come with Leopard which does have A2DP support. A2DP is a feature of the Macs Bluetooth system software, not the Bluetooth hardware. That's why older Macs updated to Leopard have gained A2DP support, with no new Bluetooth hardware required.
So if the bluetooth on this computer doesn't have A2DP then there's no way for me to use a bluetooth dongle instead?
No. But it wouldn't matter if you could use the Bluetooth dongle. You would still need the updated Bluetooth software on the computer for A2DP support - which is part of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
I find that hard to swallow.
Well, try it for yourself if you don't believe me.
I should just be able to disable the internal bluetooth and use the dongle, right?
Well... Yes, if there was actually a way to disable just the internal Bluetooth - but there isn't. If you were to turn Bluetooth off in the system preferences, it would turn all Bluetooth off, including the dongle.
But lastly, does anyone know if the Jabra dongle would be compatible with the Mac Book if I actually busted open the box?
You're not reading what I've written are you? As the MacBook *already has* internal bluetooth hardware, you cannot use an external bluetooth dongle with it. The internal bluetooth always takes priority over the external, and you cannot turn off just the internal Bluetooth.

    Hi X42:
Your last paragraph intrigued me as I had the same impression:
I thought unlicensed BT devices were legally limited by the FCC to about 30 feet (3 meters)
Actually, 30 feet is 10 meters.
Anyway, I researched and found this as part of a Wikipedia item:
Bluetooth is a standard wire-replacement communications protocol primarily designed for low power consumption, with a short range (power-class-dependent, but effective ranges vary in practice; see table below) based on low-cost transceiver microchips in each device.[7] Because the devices use a radio (broadcast) communications system, they do not have to be in visual line of sight of each other, however a quasi optical wireless path must be viable.[2]
    Class
    Maximum Permitted Power
    Range
    (approximate)
    mW
    dBm
    Class 1
    100
    20
    ~100 meters
    Class 2
    2.5
    4
    ~10 meters
    Class 3
    1
    0
    ~5 meter
The effective range varies due to propagation conditions, material coverage, production sample variations, antenna configurations and battery conditions. In most cases the effective range of class 2 devices is extended if they connect to a class 1 transceiver, compared to a pure class 2 network. This is accomplished by the higher sensitivity and transmission power of Class 1 devices.[8]
Apparently there are BT devices that will transmit about 300 feet.  I did look at the FCC site, but quickly became confused in the technbabble.

  • How can I tell whether my Mac Pro is using the bluetooth dongle or not?

I got myself a bluetooth dongle to get around the terrible internal BT signal. When it's in use, it alleviates all my troubles and I can actually stroll halfway down the hall and still type accurately.
However, it seems that every time I reboot, it must stop using the dongle and use the internal, because I then get the terrible signal of the internal antenna. The only way to convince my computer to use the dongle, is to unplug and plug it back in. Then I have to delete all my bluetooth devices and pair them again!
So yes, I am seeking a two-part solution.
Firstly, I'd like to know if there's anywhere in System Profiler, BT Preferences, Terminal, etc that will just inform me of WHICH bluetooth my computer is using.
Secondly, I'd ideally want to set it to default to the dongle. If this isn't possible, at least the first part would let me know when I need to arduously re-do my settings.
Thank you very, very much. Usually this isn't that big an issue, as I only rarely need to move my peripherals off my desk, but I got a Magic Mouse earlier this week and its extremely clear it doesn't have as strong an antenna or whatever as the Mighty Mouse, and it starts going erratic if I move it so much as a foot from the Mac Pro tower.

I have the same problem and I cannot find any way to turn off the internal bluetooth without killing all bluetooth including the dongle. If someone has a way to turn off the internal bluetooth I want to see it.
    Thanks

  • Can I DISABLE the OE internal Bluetooth and use a USB BT dongle?

I keep my Mac Pro in a server cabinet and the signal is too weak to reach my keyboard with the cabinet door closed.
Via SOFTWARE, is there any way to turn off the internal Bluetooth hardware so that only the USB Bluetooth dongle attachment is active?
I'd prefer not 'voiding my warranty' and would thus rather leave the guts of the machine alone.
Thanks in advance for a solution to this!
PS - Is there are recommended USB Bluetooth dongle I should be using?
    I own two already:
    - D-Link DBT-122 (this worked fine on my G5 Quad 2.5 - this was the apple-recommended unit once upon a time)
-Logitech USB Bluetooth 2.0 EDR dongle that came with my DiNovo Edge keyboard (this BT dongle has never worked for me).

Woops, my mistake: I MEANT to write DBT-120. That's what I've been using with the G5 (successfully).
So how do I use the dongle on a machine that has internal bluetooth?
When I plug in the DBT-120 to my USB, the BT stops working altogether. IOW the keyboard works a little buggy with the server closet door open (sometimes fine, other times buggy), but with the DBT-120 plugged in BT stops functioning altogether.
    Help?

  • How do I use a USB WiFi dongle with a MacBook?

I recently acquired a USB wifi dongle and downloaded the appropriate driver. When plugged into my MacBook it will connect to my Graphite Airport base station. I can even use Airport Admin Utility to change setting in the Graphite ABS with this USB dongle.
The driver software also included a 'client utility' which I use to get the dongle to function with the MacBook. It also required adding the dongle to the list of network [ports via the Network Preferences in OS X.
But I do not know how to use it to access the internet through the ABS. My ABS has a 56kbps dialup modem in it which I use with the MacBook's internal WiFi card as my way of accessing the internet normally. I would like to know how to use this new USB wifi dongle to do the same thing though.
    TIA

If you noticed on my jpg of my settings the very top left window shows that the MacBook thinks the dongle is indeed connected to the internet. In actuality the dongle is only connected to the Graphite ABS.
My thinking is that the Graphite ABS (Apples first ABS) is simply set up to listen to Apple's own Airport card when it comes to the ABS' internal 56k modem. Maybe someone can tell me from experience that a Graphite will listen to a USB wifi dongle?
A bit of my personal philosophy... Apple stuff generally 'just works'. It does not require a lot of windoze-like 'jumping thru hoops' to make it work. So when it does not 'just work' I tend to think that it is because it can't.
Didn't try turning off the firewall, but if it requires that I would not want to use it anyway.
Yes, the ABS does distribute IPs, or at least something does because they are different from one time to the next.
Access Control is on, but again, I require that so it would have to work that way for me or it would have no value to me.
Again I will say, I certainly appreciate your help BDAqua. But I am starting to think we may be trying to do something that cannot be done unless you know otherwise?
Again, I would like to ask, is there is anyone using a Graphite ABS with any USB wifi card/dongle?

    Hi,
You canr use text modules in script. You have to use standard texts .
Standard text are maintained in SO10 transaction.
you can create translation text for other languages also . So based on logon language it will print translation text.
    go to SO10
give textname it say Ztextname  id as ST and language as EN
say create, then you will get editor there maintain your text and save it . then come back . Now change language (say for german DE) say create and eneter translation text and save it.
so now you have created a text called ztextname which you can use in your script.
Inorder to insert the texts in your script do as below
go to any window editor and   select path
    Insert->texts->symbols->standard symbols
then you will get popup  in which you have to mention all the parameters that you have created earlier.
after inserting just change language EN to sy-langu
    Reward points if useful
About text elements Sravan already given some informatiomn
