How to use a utility class

Hi folks,
I need a utility class in my J2EE application. Both the JSPs and the EJBs will need to use it.
But I don't know where this class should be located so that it can be easily accessed. Can anyone give me a hand?

If it a utility class then all the method will be static. Put it anywhere. Lots of copies. Most SD companies have a core library that is included in every application - maybe even put on the classpath of their dedicated servers/apps.

  • How to use the implementation class in propetty pallete

    Hi,
I am using forms 10g....I have to insert horizontal scroll bar in text item..
I have only class files instead of jar files ...how cani place the class file instead of jar file...
How to use the implementation class in property palette to display the PJC
    Thanks,
    Ansaf.

The Implementation Class must reflect the full name of the class. For instance, if the full class name is : xx.yyy.zz.class_name, then put this in the Implementation Class property of the corresponding item.
Also, the class must be stored in the equivalent directory structure, so that, in my example: <DEV_HOME>/forms/java/xx/yyy/zz

  • How to use RMI Stub class in programming?

    Hi all,
    I'm new on RMI.
Is there anyone can explain to me how to use RMI Stub class which is generated by invoking rmic command?
For my testing, I can only invoke rmi object nethod via its remote interface. Then what is stub used for when we are coding?
    I do appreciate anyone's help.
    Thanks very much,
    Xianyi.Ye

When the remote object binds itself to the registry, what is actually bound is the stub.
So when the client does a registry lookup, what it gets is the stub. However from the client's point of view it is just some mystery object that implements the remote interface.
So you never have to use it directly, it is all automatic.

  • How to use the Rectangle class to draw an image and center it in a JPanel

I sent an earlier post on how to center an image in a JPanel using the Rectangle class. I was asked to send an executable code which will show the malfunction. The code below is an executable code and a small part of a very big project. To simplifiy things, it is just a JFrame and a JPanel with an open dialog. Once executed the JFrame and the FileDialog will open. You can then navigate to a .gif or a .jpg picture and open it. What I want is for the picture to be centered in the middle of the JPanel and not the upper left corner. It is also important to stress that, I am usinig the Rectangle class to draw the Image. The region of interest is where the rectangle is created. In the constructor of the CenterRect class, I initialize the Rectangle class. Then I use paintComponent in the CenterRect class to draw the Image. The other classes are just support classes. The MyImage class is an extended image class which also has a draw() method. Any assistance in getting the Rectangle to show at the center of the JPanel without affecting the size and shape of the image will be greatly appreciated.
I have divided the code into three parts. They are all supposed to be on one file in order to execute.

  • How to use JAXB generated classes with SOAP

    hello,
I have a library of JAXB generated classes for my web service. There is a Java class for each web method defined in my schema. For example, my getLocation method is mapped to GetLocation.class.
However my web service is SOAP based, so I am having to manually strip off the SOAP elements to be able to unmarshall the getLocation xml to a GetLocation class.
I am noticing a disconnect between JAXB and other Java SOAP and RPC libraries. Does anyone know how to create a JAXB class for SOAP Envelopes and Bodys? Does anyone have any ideas how to incorporate the existing Java web service libraries with JAXB?
    Thanks in advance.

Have you found a method to integrate SAAJ and JAXB? Or
is better to use SAAJ only ?If I had to choose I'd go with SAAJ. It seems to me that's theoretically possible to use JAXB classes with SAAJ but I imagine if it is possible it would be a big pain in the ass.

  • How to use Directory Utility to make a local test domain?

I need to set up wildcard subdomains for a test domain of acegamingsyndicate.test and I can only find guides that use the netinfo utility, which has been removed from Leopard and replaced with the Directory Utility.
How would I add acegamingsyndicate.test so that I can use wildcard subdomains? acegamingsyndicate.test itself works, after I added it in the hosts file, but subdomains are not working so I don't think that it should be in the hosts file. In fact I'm nearly positive it's not supposed to go in the hosts file.

    You don't use Directory Utility.
Directory Utility is used to bind the server to a directory server - typically used for user accounts and the like. It's not used for hostnames.
Also, as you've noted, you can't use /etc/hosts to create wildcard records.
What you need is a DNS server.
Mac OS X includes one (BIND), but it is managed via traditional text file editing in the command line, not via a GUI app. Mac OS X Server adds a GUI, but it doesn't sound like you're running that.
So the question is, how comfortable are you using the command line and is manually configuring the DNS server something you think you're up for?

  • How to use Landmark & LandmarkStore classes in Location API

    hi
i have some problem to use Landmark & landmarkStore classes in location api . any one give source link to use these calsses.

    1) why not simply create two different timer objects, one for one image, the other for the other. I would caution you that you may wish to limit the area of your repaint so as not to slow down your app repainting everything when you only need to repaint the area around your sprites.
    2) Please note that cross-posting can frustrate anyone who tries to help you only to find out later that the same answer was given hours ago in a cross-posted thread. No one likes wasting their time, especially a volunteer. The polite thing to do would be to not do this, but if you feel that you absolutely must, to at least provide links in both cross-posts to each other.

  • How to use PKCS related classes?

    Hi,
I am happening to deal with PKCS7. The client will send me (the server) a PKCS7 envelope and I need to decrypt and/or get data like certificate, etc from the PKCS7 envelope. Are the required/related classes not part of Java API? We use 1.4.2_06. Do I have to use/buy/download any special API to deal with pkcs?
This link http://java.sun.com/products/jce/jce122_providers.html says one needs to buy one of the listed Cryptographic Service Providers. Did any one deal with PKCS? If so what did you use/buy/download? Is there any information on net on how to use those APIs - examples, samplex, documentation, etc?
    Thanks in advance for help,
    -Pramodh

You can use the BouncyCastle JCE provider to use PKCS7 objects. It is free. David Hook's book "Cryptography in Java" provides numerous examples of how to use the BC libraries with PKCS objects.
