How to use apex_application.g_f01 with check boxes to find unchecked items

I have a sql report that looks like this:
select
case when q.request_id is null then
apex_item.checkbox(1,q.QUALITY_ISSUE_ID)
else
apex_item.checkbox(1,q.QUALITY_ISSUE_ID,'CHECKED')
end input,
MEANING d,
LOOKUP_CODE r
from LOOKUP_VALUES f
,REQUEST_QUALITY q
where f.LOOKUP_TYPE = 'QUALITY_ISSUES'
and f.LANGUAGE = 'US'
and f.view_application_id = 3
AND f.lookup_code = q.quality_code(+)
AND q.request_id(+) = 3464
Now I need a process where I can insert rows when new ones are selected and delete ones that have been unchecked. For the insert, I need to know the lookup_code and for the delete, it will not be in the array. Because only checked items are passed in the array. How do I get around both issues? The table I am trying to control looks like this:
QUALITY_ISSUE_ID     NUMBER
REQUEST_ID     NUMBER
QUALITY_CODE     VARCHAR2(30)
Quality issue id is based on a seq for new inserts. Request_id is the id of the parent record, and quality code is the code coming from lookup_values
How do I go about this?
I'm on version 4.02
Thanks

hi,
thanks for the quick response.
i'm getting another error upon changing my sql to use
DECLARE
sql_v VARCHAR2(32767) :=
SELECT apex_item.checkbox(1,''#ROW_NUM#'') item,
       e.employee_id,
       e.last_name,
       e.first_name,
       e.middle_name,
       e.email_address,
       e.tel_no,
       e.mobile_no

BEGIN
IF :P3_EMPLOYMENT_STATUS IS NOT NULL THEN
sql_v := sql_v || ' INTERSECT
SELECT apex_item.checkbox(1,''#ROW_NUM#'') item,
       e.employee_id,
       e.last_name,
       e.first_name,
       e.middle_name,
       e.email_address,
       e.tel_no,
       e.mobile_no
  FROM employees e
WHERE e.employment_status = :P3_EMPLOYMENT_STATUS
END IF;
END;i'm sorry if i forgot to mention earlier that i'm using an SQL Report that has a type of SQL Query(PL/SQL function body returning SQL Query).
anyways, i am now getting the error
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion errorstill have no idea what's causing this nor the error ealier.
thanks.

  • Using screen reader with check boxes.

    Hello All,
    I have a check box on a form.  Upon tabbing to the check box the custom text is read by the screen reader.  The custom text provides an explanation of the field as well as the current state (unchecked).  Is there a way to have the screen reader announce the state of the check box upon changing from unchecked to checked?
    If this required scripting or the use of alternate text, an example or explanation would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jelf12

    Jelf12,
    You should be careful about providing too much information in the CSRT, I usually recommend that people just rely on the caption text for checkboxes -- if the information is sufficient for sighted users, then in combination with the information provided to the assistive technology via our accessibility API in Adobe Reader the information should be sufficient for non-sighted users.
    For example, if you have a checkbox that has a caption that is "Please send me information about new offers", that would be fine for screen reader users because when they land on the checkbox they will hear "please send me information about new offers, checkbox checked" and if they uncheck it (you can assume that how to toggle a checkbox is common knowledge so don't need to convey this information) they will hear "Unchecked".  If the user tabs away and tabs back they will hear the full explanation again, except with the changed state reported.
    It is tempting to overdo it, but for most checkboxes all you need to do is make sure that the screen reader precedence is set to "Caption" and move on.

  • How to create a page with check boxes

    Hello friends
    I want to create a page with 5 statements and 5 checkboxes. The next page will be displayed only if all the 5 checkboxes are checked.
    Can you please let me know how to create the page (could not find any template for this!) and how to control the display of the next page through checkboxes.
    I am on version 4.7 of R/3 and EP 6.0.
    This is urgent, prompt reply would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    pomila

    Hello Michael
    Thanks for your prompt reply, your answer was indeed helpful.
    Just another quick question, does EP 6.0 have any template/iview which we can use or it has to be done through coding only?
    thx

  • How to use Application Designer with virtual box vm's

    hi all,
    I could use some help please.
    I have everthing installed and working on the VMs but now I want to use Application Designer but I must be doing something wrong.
    I installed the Oracle client on windows and created tnsnames.ora. I can't connect to the database from windows to vm.
    I have some questions which might help me fix this.
    The directory that was mentioned to put tnsnames.ora in (C:\app\Mike\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin\) was not there so I had to create it. Was that what I was supposed to do or did the install go bad?
    For the windows host file what should the ip addresses be? I used the IP Addresses of the eth1 network interface from both guests which I created.
    As far as the PeopleTools on windows I used PT 8.52 but with no patch will that work even though the VMs are PT 8.52.06? So if I need the patch in order for App Designer to work how can I get the patch I think I need an account to do that. I think it mentions in the OVM doc that they are included somewhere so should I use those instead?

    <strike>With virtualbox vm's I assume that you mean the OVM templates converted to virtualbox.</strike>
    Didn't notice the OVM category :)
    Which Oracle Client installer did your use?
    You could use the following download from MOS for Database 11.2..02 (since Peoplesoft database is also delivered at 11.2.0.2)
    Patch 10098816: 11.2.0.2.0 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER
    From the patch set download only p10098816_112020_platform_4of7.zip, which is your database client. The rest you will not need to be able to use Application Designer and Datamover.
    Once downloaded start the installer and choose option Runtime (do not choose Instant Client or Administrator).
    Now that you have your connectivity, you can start the PIA-AppBatch vm.
    switch to psadm2 user and go to $PS_HOME.
    Here you will find two files
    toolsclient.zip (PeopleTools 8.52, use client only)
    toolspatchvcd.zip (PeopleTools patch 8.52.06, , use client only)
    Copy these files to your windows workstation and install them in that order.
    Copy the tnsnames from the Database vm to your oracle client install dir network\admin dir and you should be ready to start using Application Designer/Datamover.

    hi,
    You can create two value nodes for storing these collections. The first one would be singleton node as it is the main list. Under that create the second node with singleton = false.
    e.g.
    ---NodeA
        --attrA1
        --attrA2
        --NodeB(singleton = false)
                --attrB1
                --attrB2
    Now populate collection of object A in NodeA and after adding element in NodeA populate respective elements in NodeB.
    IPrivate<View>View.INodeANode nodeA = wdContext.NodeAnode();
    for (Iterator  it = collectionA.iterator(); it.hasNext(); )
         ObjectA objA= it.next();
         IPrivate<View>View.INodeAElement nodeAElem= nodeA.createNodeAElement();
         wdCopyservice.copy Corresponding(objA,nodeAElem);
         nodeA.addElement(nodeAElem);
         Collection collectioB =objA.getCollectionB();
         for (Iterator  it1 = collectionB.iterator(); it1.hasNext(); )
             ObjectB objB= it1.next();
            IPrivate<View>View.INodeBNode nodeB = nodeAElem.nodeBnode();
            IPrivate<View>View.INodeAElement nodeBElem= nodeB.createNodeBElement();
            wdCopyservice.copy Corresponding(objB,nodeBElem);
            nodeB.addElement(nodeBElem);
    Bind NodeA to the first table and NodeB to second one.
    After that when you select record in first table automatically its corresponding records will be populated in second table.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to validate that only one check box is checked in detail block

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle Forms 10G on windows.
    I need help on how to validate that only one check box is checked in detail block. I have multiple records in the detail block and I have check boxes for each record in the detail block.
    I have a button to select the values from the detail records where the check box is checked. But I want to make sure that only one record is check not more than one.
    How do I validate this on a push button trigger?
    Thanks

    When I've done this kind of thing, I create a Form level variable of TYPE number and then add or subtract to this variable as I check and uncheck the checkboxes. If the value of the variable is 1, then you know that only one checkbox is selected. If the value is greater than 1, then you know the user has selected more than one check box. You could also add code to your When-Checkbox-Changed trigger to test the variable and instruct the user to un-check selected record before selecing a new record.
    With respect to the Form level variable, you can use a GLOBAL, PARAMETER or Program Unit package specification. I prefer to use the PU Package Spec as this method has a smaller memory footprint. For example, in the Program Unit node of the object navigator create the following;
    /* Form variables package spec */
    PACKAGE Form_Vars IS
      CheckBox_Cnt     NUMBER := 0;
    END;Now in your When-Checkbox-Changed trigger...
    BEGIN
       IF ( Form_Vars.CheckBox_Cnt = 0 ) THEN
          Form_Vars.CheckBox_Cnt  := Form_Vars.CheckBox_Cnt  + 1;
       ELSE
          /* it's assumed the value is greater than 0 */
          Message('Please uncheck selec ted record before choosing a new record.');
          RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
       END IF;
    END;Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

    A classical report is a program that generates a single list, which must contain all of the required detail information.
    1) This procedure may result in extensive lists from which the user has to pick the relevant data.
    2) For background processing, this is the only possible method. After starting a background job, there is no way of influencing the program.
    3) The desired selections must be made beforehand and the list must provide detailed information.
    4) For dialog sessions, there are no such restrictions.
    5) The user is present during the execution of the program and can control and manipulate the program flow directly.
    6) To be able to use all advantages of the online environment, classical reporting was developed into interactive reporting.
    ALV is Application List viewer. Sap provides a set of ALV (ABAP LIST VIEWER) function modules which can be put into use to embellish the output of a report. This set of ALV functions is used to enhance the readability and functionality of any report output. Cases arise in sap when the output of a report contains columns extending more than 255 characters in length. In such cases, this set of ALV functions can help choose selected columns and arrange the different columns from a report output and also save different variants for report display. This is a very efficient tool for dynamically sorting and arranging the columns from a report output. The report output can contain up to 90 columns in the display with the wide array of display options.
    Advantages.
    Collapse multiple reports into one, drastically cutting down your report development time
    Save many hours using built-in ALV sorting, subtotaling and filtering capabilities
    Add conditional structures into your ALV report: No programming required!
    Combine ALV with display variants to meet a wide range of reporting requirements more easily
    Dynamically reorder column layouts and add/subtract fields
    Enable users and analysts to save their own personalized variants
    All the definitions of internal tables, structures and constants are declared in a type-pool called SLIS.
    1. SIMPLE REPORT.
    The important function modules are
    a. Reuse_alv_list_display
    b. Reuse_alv_fieldcatalog_merge
    c. Reuse_alv_events_get
    d. Reuse_alv_commentary_write
    e. Reuse_alv_grid_display
    A. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY : This is the function module which prints the data.
    The important parameters are :
    I. Export :
    i. I_callback_program : report id
    ii. I_callback_pf_status_set : routine where a user can set his own pf status or change the functionality of the existing pf status
    iii. I_callback_user_command : routine where the function codes are handled
    iv. I_structure name : name of the dictionary table
    v. Is_layout : structure to set the layout of the report
    vi. It_fieldcat : internal table with the list of all fields and their attributes which are to be printed (this table can be populated automatically by the function module REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    vii. It_events : internal table with a list of all possible events of ALV and their corresponding form names.
    II. Tables :
    i. t_outtab : internal table with the data to be output
    B. REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE : This function module is used to populate a fieldcatalog which is essential to display the data in ALV. If the output data is from a single dictionary table and all the columns are selected, then we need not exclusively create the field catalog. Its enough to mention the table name as a parameter(I_structure name) in the REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY. But in other cases we need to create it.
    The Important Parameters are :
    I. Export :
    i. I_program_name : report id
    ii. I_internal_tabname : the internal output table
    iii. I_inclname : include or the report name where all the dynamic forms are handled.
    II Changing
    ct_fieldcat : an internal table with the type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV which is
    declared in the type pool SLIS.
    C. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET : Returns table of possible events for a list type
    Parameters :
    I. Import :
    Et_Events : The event table is returned with all possible CALLBACK events
    for the specified list type (column 'NAME'). For events to be processed by Callback, their 'FORM' field must be filled. If the field is initialized, the event is ignored. The entry can be read from the event table, the field 'FORM' filled and the entry modified using constants from the type pool SALV.
    II. Export :
    I_List_type :
    0 = simple list REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    1 = hierarchcal-sequential list REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY

    Parameters :
    I. it_list_commentary : internal table with the headings of the type slis_t_listheader.
    This internal table has three fields :
    Typ : ‘H’ – header, ‘S’ – selection , ‘A’ - action
    Key : only when typ is ‘S’.
    Info : the text to be printed
    E. REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY : A new function in 4.6 version, to display the results in grid rather than as a preview.
    Parameters : same as reuse_alv_list_display
    This is an example for simple list.
    2. BLOCK REPORT
    This is used to have multiple lists continuously.

    B. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND
    Parameters :
    Export :
    I. is_layout : layout settings for block
    II. it_fieldcat : field catalog
    III. i_tabname : internal table name with output data
    IV. it_events : internal table with all possible events
    Tables :
    i. t_outtab : internal table with output data.

    BCALV_GRID_03.
    BCALV_GRID_03
    This program implements a function on event DOUBLE_CLICK. According to the selected line data
    from table SBOOK is selected and displayed by a second ALV Control in a dialog dynpro.
    BCALV_GRID_04
    Illustrates the use of exceptions (lights or leds). According to the values of SFLIGHT-SEATSOCC, the
    lights are set to 1 (red), 2 (yellow) or 3 (green).

    This report illustrates how to add and remove lines to a table using the ALV Grid Control and how to
    implement the saving of the new data.
    BCALV_EDIT_05
    This example shows how to use checkboxes within an ALV Grid Control. You learn:
    (1) how to define a column for editable checkboxes for an attribute of your list
    (2) how to evaluate the checked checkboxes
    (3) how to switch between editable and non-editable checkboxes
    BCALV_EDIT_06

    The ALV Grid Control is a tool with which you can output non-hierarchical lists in a
    standardized format. The list data is displayed as a table on the screen.
    The ALV Grid Control offers a range of interactive standard list functions that users need
    frequently (find, sort, filter, calculate totals and subtotals, print, print preview, send list,
    export list (in different formats), and so on. These functions are implemented in the
    proxy object class. You as the programmer have the possibility to turn off functions not
    needed. In most cases the implementations of the standard functions provided by the
    control are sufficient. However, if required, you can adjust these implementations to
    meet application-specific needs.
    You can add self-defined functions to the toolbar, if necessary.
    The ALV Grid Control allows users to adjust the layout of lists to meet their individual
    requirements (for example, they can swap columns, hide columns, set filters for the
    data to be displayed, calculate totals, and so on). The settings (list customizing) made
    by a specific user are called a display variant. Display variants can be saved on a userspecific
    or on a global basis. If such display variants exist for a list, they can be offered
    to the user for selection. If a display variant is set as the default variant, the associated
    list is always displayed based on the settings of this variant.
    2. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
    REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE
    3. Use of Field Catalog is to determines the technical properties & add formating information of the column.
    6. all the definition of internal table, structure, constants are declared in a type-pool called SLIS.
    7.fieldcat-fieldname
    fieldcat-ref_fieldname
    fieldcat-tabname
    fieldcat-seltext_m
    5. Form user_command using r_ucomm like sy-ucomm rs_selfield type slis_selfield.
    The commonly used ALV functions used for this purpose are;
    1. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET
    2. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
    3. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
    4. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET
    5. REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE
    6. REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    7. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    8. REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
    9. REUSE_ALV_POPUP_TO_SELECT
    Purpose of the above Functions are differ not all the functions are required in all the ALV Report.
    But either no.7 or No.8 is there in the Program.
    How you call this function in your report?
    After completion of all the data fetching from the database and append this data into an Internal Table. say I_ITAB.
    Then use follwing function module.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
    EXPORTING
    I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = 'Prog.name'
    I_STRUCTURE_NAME = 'I_ITAB'
    I_DEFAULT = 'X'
    I_SAVE = 'A'
    TABLES
    T_OUTTAB = I_ITAB.
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    WRITE: 'SY-SUBRC: ', SY-SUBRC .
    ENDIF.
    ENDFORM. " GET_FINAL_DATA
    The object F_IT_ALV has a field, the activity ACTVT, which can
    contain four permitted values: 01, 02, 03 and 70. Each of the
    activities 01, 02 and 70 controls the availability of particular
    functions (in the menu and the toolbar) of the ALV line item list:
    a) 01: "Settings -> Display variant -> Save..."
    b) 02: "Settings -> Display variant -> Current..." and
    "Settings -> Display variant -> Current header rows "
    c) 70: "Settings -> Display variant -> Administration..."
    Activity 03 corresponds to the minimum authorization, which is the
    most restricted one: The user can only select layouts which have
    been configured already. In particular, all of the other functions
    named above are inactive with activity 03.
    Now if you want to permit a user to change the column selection and
    the headers as well as to save the layout thus created, for example,
    but if you do not want to permit the user to administrate the
    layouts, you grant him or her the authorization for activities 01
    and 02.

  • HT1343 how to use the options with F10, F11, F11 for turning the sound up or down or mute?

    Hi, I'm Hannah. I'm using a Mac. Can you show me how to use the options with F10, F11, F12 for turning the sound up, or down or mute? Thank you very much

    Normally simply pressing them should do what you want, F10 to mute; F11 to decrease volume; F12 to increase volume. However, it's possible that you have a box ticked in Keyboard preferences which modifies the behaviour of the keys, requiring you to also hold down the Fn key (bottom left key on the keyboard) to enable the function.
    Check System Preferences>Keyboard to makes sure the box indicated in the image isn't ticked.

    Hi Experts,
    I have an ALV grid display with check box.

  • Af:table with check box

    Hello Folks,
    I am finding very difficult here with checkBox.....
    I have a button Names "SELECT ALL" that selects all the rows in the af:table but i am also looking to check all the checkBoxes associated with row with that same "SELECT ALL" button...
    This is how i am selecting all the row and this works fine but i should also be able to check the check Boxes along with row selection for that row with that same click.
    RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySetImpl();
    CollectionModel model = (CollectionModel) getBidTB().getValue();
    int rowcount = model.getRowCount();
    for (int i = 0; i < rowcount; i++)
    model.setRowIndex(i);
    Object key = model.getRowKey();
    rks.add(key);
    getBidTB().setSelectedRowKeys(rks);
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getPanelGroup());
    It seems simple but my head is sniping a lot already can't get into it... Your Help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    ### edited/ added #### i am using transient VO, if that makes any difference.

    For those who are in similar situation ... below is the code which i used to select all check boxes for all row that are selected :
    RowKeySet selectedEmps = getBidTB().getSelectedRowKeys();
    Iterator selectedEmpIter = selectedEmps.iterator();
    DCBindingContainer bindings =
    (DCBindingContainer) BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding empIter =
    bindings.findIteratorBinding("myIter");
    RowSetIterator empRSIter = empIter.getRowSetIterator();
    while (selectedEmpIter.hasNext())
    Key key = (Key) ((List) selectedEmpIter.next()).get(0);
    Row currentRow = empRSIter.getRow(key);
    currentRow.setAttribute("RowChkFlg", Boolean.TRUE);
    }

  • How to use File Adapter with hierarchial Structure?

    Hi,
    How to use File Adapter with hierarchial Structure like..
    Data:
    --Header Details:
    Line Item Details:
    Data
    Bcoz I am getting a Flatfile in a hierarchial way as shown below.
    Header Details :1
    Line Item a
    Line Item b
    Header Details :2
    Line Item c
    Line Item d
    Kishore

    Hey Kishore,
    In order to create a structure you need to use the file with convertion mode on the sending communication channel of the file adapter.
    check the link for the needed configuration paramters.
    If the structure is more complexed you can use the Contetnt master(CM) from itemfield which allows to ceate XML file from complex flat files and more.

  • Use of initial values check box in tables

    Hi,
    what is of use of initial values check box(after the primary key check box)  in tables.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    The flag indicates whether field inserted in the database is to be filled with initial values. The initial value used depends on the data type of the field. I.e. type n(2) is '00'.
    When you create a table, all fields of the table can be defined as NOT NULL and filled with an initial value. The same applies when converting the table. Only when new fields are added or inserted, are these filled with initial values. An exception is key fields. These are always filled automatically with initial values.

  • Problem with check box in ALV Grid Display

    I am Displaying Material Master Data in ALV Grid Display with Check Box for each record and if i checked check box then i am processing Update operation in Database,  my question is after perform update operation check box should be clear.
    Kindly help me!!!!

    Hello Raj
    Given the fact that you do not tell us the most important piece of information (namely whether you are using OO-based ALV or not) I assume you are using fm-based ALV lists.
    In this case you probably have defined a USER_COMMAND routine as described in the documentation of the fm.
    FORM user_command  USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                             rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
    * define local data
      DATA: ls_outtab  LIKE LINE OF gt_outtab,
                ld_idx       TYPE i.
      LOOP AT gt_outtab INTO ls_outtab
                     WHERE ( chkbox = 'X' ).
        ld_idx = syst-tabix.
        " Call your update function / method / perform
       ls_outtab-chkbox = space.
       MODIFY gt_outtab FROM ls_outtab INDEX ld_Idx
          TRANSPORTING chkbox.
      ENDLOOP.
    " And now trigger refresh of the ALV display:
      rs_selfield-refresh = 'X'.  " <<< !!!
    ENDFORM.
    Regards
      Uwe
