How to use Caravan for iPhone

I can't find any instructions on how to transfer documents from my computer to my iPhone with Caravan. I'd like to use it on a Mac and on a PC; I've already installed it from the app store to my phone. Does anyone have a link or experience with this? Care to share? Would be very grateful.

I was really pleased to see that instructions had been added to the website at last. ~ But that lasted less than five minutes after I tried to connect.
Still received the dreaded error message:

Then I thought my luck would change when I tried your instructions, and do you know what, no change. ;-(
I cannot understand what is wrong.
I am using a new Airport Extreme Base Station, which works flawlessly with both my G5 iMac, Intel Windows Vista Laptop, as well as my iPhone 3G.
Only Caravan is causing me a problem.
I have followed the instructions (belatedly added to website all day to day. I have made sure my base station will allow Port 21 Incoming traffic.
I have been trying for a whole week and a half now, and I am at the end of my tether.
It would not be so bad if the author of the app would reply to emails, but I get the impression reading both here, and in the reviews, that this person replies to nobody.
I don't know if you can actually edit any files if you are lucky enough to get Caravan working, but I have now purchased FileMagnet.
FileMagnet is not perfect, you cannot go direct to any text pages, or save your place, but at least you can access the files.
The problem really is that Apple has stumbled on to a huge pot of gold with the App store ( apparently, worth a staggering half a billion pounds a year, and absolves itself of any responsibility if the applications cause the customer problems, they just keep referring you back to the author of the software, which would be OK, if they would reply.
I think this will happen more, and it could cause people to more reluctant to stump up money before they try the apps.
Anyhow that's my grouse, but, I must say this application and its authors refusal to offer support has left a sour taste.
The iPhone 3G has been really great this past month, and I have loved having it, and the App store does have a lot of really good applications. Its just a few authors like Notsosoft (Caravan) and Apples refusal to help when a problem occurs or refund your money that is letting the App store down.

1. Select Apps in Apps store icon on the phone.
2. Choose App to download
3. At "Instal" button press it QUICKLY in blocks of 3 presses, keep doing this until it overides the i-tune warning, then if there were legacy versions for os 4.2.1 it says something like "this app is for os 5 or above", but gives you a choice to download an older version. Select this.
Sometimes it says the Apps is for newer hardware, requiring motion sensors, front camera's etc.. just got to accept these ones don't work on legacy hardware.
4. Download does not work for all Apps, esp. newer ones written after os 4.21 or if the developer doesn't have the vintage apps archived- e.g. Instagram downloads, but won't run (wants to update), or WSJ and Barrons stalls and goes through a download loop.
I am not making this up, as I bought this old 3g unit on e-bay, after a complete factory reset I now have:
- Tune-in, FB, Pandora,Skype, Twitter, Bloomberg, MSNBC, Forbes, Marketwatch, Viber, amongst a host of other news apps like LATimes.
Some Apps will download ok, and then at activation says its too old and no longer supported e.g Whats App.
Otherwise, good luck. Tune-in, Pandora, Skype and Twitter is all I need to keep me happy with an old unit, even though I've got newer hardware. Never let anything die unnaturally.

The cheap & easy way is to just drag the app to the Trash.
If you want to get all of the associated files use an app deleting app like the free AppCleaner;

Just drag an app and drop it on the AppCleaner icon in the Dock and it will find and present to you all the files it thinks are associated with the app. You can uncheck any that you want to keep and then let AppCleaner Trash the rest.

This way, I don't need to use a lot of if..then for hard code v1,v2,v3,.... actually I have more v..
But Oracle gave an error of this usage of 'if 'v'||i' or 'v'||to_char(i).

SQL is source code. It needs to be parsed (compiled). The end result is an executable program that is called a cursor. This cursor needs to be stored in server memory (the SQL Shared Pool in the SGA).
The problem with your code is that it is slow and expensive - it generates lots of unique SQL statements that need CPU for parsing and server memory for storage.
These add up to a very significant performance overhead. That is the wrong approach. The correct approach is the same one that you would use in any other programming language.
Let's say you need to use Java to process a bunch of CSV files - exact same CSV layout used by each file. A file needs to be read, processed, and a log file created.
Will you write a Java program that loops through the files, for each file found, write a Java program for processing that file, compile it, then execute it?
Or would you write a Java program that takes the name of the file as input, and then process that file and writes the log file?
The 2nd approach provides a program that can process any of those CSV files - one simply needs to pass the filename as an input parameter.
Your code and approach use the 1st method. Not the 2nd. And that is why it is wrong.
To create a SQL program with parameters is done by using bind variables. Instead of
v_cmd := 'UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1='||v1||', w2='||v2||...||v9||' WHERE seq='||vseq||';
The following SQL source code should be created:
v_cmd := 'UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1=:v1, w2=:v2 ..., w9=:v9 WHERE seq= :vseq';
The tokens with the colon prefix (such as :v1), are bind variables. Think of these as the parameters to the SQL cursor.
The server parses this SQL into a cursor. You can now execute the same cursor over and over again, using different bind variables. (just like the 2nd approach above that one would use in Java)
In PL/SQL, this is made even easier as you can code native SQL code with PL/SQL code and use PL/SQL variables in it. The PL/SQL compiler is clever enough to do the SQL parsing, variable binding, and cursor execution for you. So in PL/SQL, you would use:
UPDATE parts_categ_counts SET w1=v1, w2=v2 ..., w9=v9 WHERE seq= vseq;
Where v1 and the others are PL/SQL variables.
That all said - PL/SQL is only used for data crunching, when the processing of data is too complex for the SQL language to deal with. And this is very seldom the case.
The main reason for using PL/SQL it to provide processing flow control, conditional processing and error handling, for SQL code. As the SQL language does not have these features.

I think that I found the Sun endorsed book locations for using LDAP accounts that don't use authentication besides "crypt". I now can use an account with a "ssha" password. It can be more than 8 characters long.
