How to use Documents & Data in the iCloud on my mac?

Dear Sir,
When you activate Documents & Data from System Preferences/iCloud it means that it can be stored and synced with my MAC.
You can see this when you disable Documents & Data from System Preferences/iCloud, it says that (All Docments & Data Stored in my MAC will be deleted)
So, there should be a folded that can store and sync my Documents & Data with iCloud.
So, How?

So, iCloud is just for upload and download.
I even could not use the documents on the web. how come?
is it just a place to upload and download only? It should be used as a device on the Web also. and it should be synced with my Mac or PC. In this way, It could be useful. But to upload a document to the web, then modify it by any IOS5, in this case I will have 2 versions, one in the could, and another in my mac, and i have to keep update with the new one. if i modify the one in my mac, i have to re-upload again before using the one in the cloud or i'll be using another old version. and if i modify the version in the cloud, i should re-download it to my mac before using the version which is already in my mac. it is really going terrible.
I'm really disappointed from the iCould.
It is just for mail, syncing contacts and iCal, Find my iPhone.
iDisk and Photo Gallery was something unbelievable.
Hope apple to keep iDisk & Photo Galley and to update the iCloud

I am trying to back up some documents in my icloud however i cannot seem to figure out how to store data there and also how to access the data that is there as it is saying i have used 499 out of 5GB. Here is how to do this:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Disks icon at the top of the AirPort Utility window
Click the Disks tab below the icons
Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a moment or two
Now you can backup your MacBook Pro. If you connect an Ethernet cable from the MBP to one of the LAN <-> ports on the TC, the first backup will go 3-5 times faster than wireless.
Once you have the first backup done, you can use wireless for subsequent backups since they will only take a few minutes

What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

You would have to restore to your entire iCloud backup, if you have one. (The backup includes app data.) Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process. If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

What are you trying to get rid of? iCloud can store some documents but these are pretty much managed using the apps you edit them with. The majority of the space that is being used on your iCloud account is being used by the backup of your device. When your device, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage. Turn off any applications that you do not need to have backed up, or turn off backup in general in Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup.

The only way photos are stored in icloud is in a backup from an ios device. This assumes that icloud backup was turned on and that camera roll was turned on. Note that photo stream is a slightly different service that is used to sync photos from one device to another, it's not really a storage service.
To retrieve photos that are in a backup, you need to reset a device (wipe all data from it) and perform a restore. Note that many users have had problems getting their photos back from a backup - for one reason or another.
