I downloaded a set of 6 new fonts on my Mac in a ZIP archive. I read that there are at least 4 Font folders in Mac OS X. Which folder(s) do these fonts have to be placed in so I can use them with Pages?

Mac OS X is a multi-user system software for networking, Mac OS 9 and lower was a single user system software. In a multi-user system software, users log into accounts, and the system administrator assigns priviliges to the user accounts.
This is why fonts for Unicode imaging and ICC profiles for ICC colour imaging can be system-wide or per account. Each account can have its own Unicode font database, and each account can have its own ICC profile for the digital colour display, too.
System auditing software is able to install fonts and profiles. Fonts are audited installed in FontBook, profiles in the ColorSync Utility. The audit checks the 'mechanics' of these two tagged table formats for things that could crash the system software (although after the audit the font or profile may still prove to have problems whether in the domain of information or in the domain of imaging).

Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to print some MICR codes (for checks) through Adobe Forms.
I have installed some true type MICR fonts in windows and Adobe Font Manager (in ADS) as well.
It is visible in the Adobe Form design time (Font palette) and when I use the font for text, it is visible in preview too. But when I run the web dynpro application, in the online form it is converted into Standard font (Times new Roman).
Is there anyway to handle this issue.
Please let me know.

I can confirm this functions but there is no indication it's been successful and the swatches appear in the Swatches panel, *not* in the Libraries panel where I would expect them. My issue is that IMO this should not even be an issue, because a palette created on color.adobe.com should just show up in PS CC unless I'm not understanding the intended behavior.
Anyone?

We're using the ubuntu font and I see the fonts on my computer but after sending an email the fonts change.

Keep in mind using web fonts will have a limited effect if viewing such emails while offline.

flash uses your system fonts.
to install fonts in windows - Start > Control panel >
Fonts - File > Install New Font... navigate to

Why am I unable to use some fonts in Pages '09 since upgrading to Pages 5?

I upgraded to the new Pages and regretted it immediately because it doesn't have a lot of features I am used to and which I need. (The marketing blurb only mentioned what it could do, and omitted to mention how many functions had been removed, otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded.) As a result I decided I wouldn't use Pages 5 until it (hopefully) catches up with the functionality of the older version.
However, the upgrade appears to have done something to corrupt some of my fonts in Pages '09. This means that files I created in Pages '09 cannot now be printed because I get 'gobbledegook' instead of the font I chose (Academy Engraved for one).
I can set a new document in Pages 5 in Academy Engraved but if I then export it into Pages '09 it reverts to gobbledegook. I cannot simply replicate my old Pages '09 files in Pages 5 because the functionality I need isn't there. So I have a lot of files in Pages '09 that I can't print, and I am very frustrated.
I have validated the Academy Engraved font in Font Book and it was fine. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try please?

Thank you for that, but I'm afraid I muddied the waters by mentioning that alert. I am aware of Gatekeeper, but the point was it was a Pages document not an app so I shouldn't have got that message at all. If anything, I should have got the "You need a newer version of Pages" message. However, I'll live with that one for the time being.
It's the font problem that I'm really concerned with. If I open a new document in Pages '09 I can no longer use Academy Engraved font, it just looks like gobbledegook. Neither can I read Academy Engraved font in any of my old Pages '09 documents. However, Academy Engraved font works fine in Pages 5. So by upgrading needlessly to Pages 5 I can no longer use Academy Engraved in Pages '09. That's my main problem.

The three components of iWork '09 (as the iWork '08 ones) share the same folder of textures.
So, If Pages doesn't use all of them, it's a design choice.
If I made no error, here is a table of used textures.
Some are news and unused ?
I found no change in the use of textures for Pages and Numbers.
The changes apply only to Keynote.
I entered the program's resources and bingo, I found the way to allow more textures in the menus.

On the Mac you add fonts to the System by double clicking on them, they then get opened in Font Book where you can open/close and organise them.
Most ClipArt offered with other applications is rubbish. Apple has left it to you to source your own, better material. This may help:
